Stasyn had at the time thoroughly filed the guards under the brutish thug's category who probably take some secret joy is roughly handling the infected populace. So, he was surprised to hear the guard call to them. He is immediately wary in the event its some kind of trap. He stands waiting to see if the guard will come to them with a finger on his wand.
A wave of anger washes over the captain of the guard and he grabs hold of the gates heavy iron bars. "I'd remember seeing a minotaur being placed into quarintine... and we wouldn't have let you all keep your weapons either!" The armored man shouts, prompting the men on the walls to hoist their crossbows and point towards the group. "I'm just looking to have a short chat... no you all are already in prison so let's not make this any harder than it has to be." The captain says as his voice seems to become a little calmer as he releases his grasp on the gate and motions the party to come closer.

As the team passes the Wet Weasel the young white-haired noble is not brought down by the lack of remaining bones. "This just shows the minions of the Bone Collector are quite active I would say. If we get some new bones from the butcher this could be a place to set the trap. Only question is if we catch and interrogate them or if we think we can follow them back to the lair of the Bone Collector without being noticed."He says before continuing the tour.
As the captain of the guard seems to anger, Daryos decides it would be better just to listen to the man, so he steps closer with a polite smile. "You are quite right, we are neither sick nor criminals. We do have other engagements though but I suppose we could hear what you have to say first."He says with a polite smile, ready to listen before resuming the tour.

((At the bodies, or where they were, near the Wesel))
Kitaer points out there could be more than one group removing bodies. "If the bone collector is only interested in bones and leave the flesh suits, for lack of a better phrase, then perhaps the plague doctors or someone else is removing the bodies? Boned or boneless. Otherwise this place would be awash with the dead, wouldn't it? Someone must be doing some housekeeping..."
((Back to Guard time...))
Kitaer snorts and is about to make a rather rude gesture when Daryos speaks up. Fine, let him take care of this, Kitaer decides. But he's not walking over to the gates and inviting a wave of guards to come out and try to steal his weapons or anything. They don't like him being armed then let them brave the quarantine zone if they want to do something about it.
The guard smiles at the pleasent words of the well dressed Daryos. "Well thank you sir." The says as he places his elbows against the bars and rests his head on his hands. He glances around to the group and back to Daryos before continuing. "So if you don't mind me asking... how did you lot get into the quarantine zone? Especially with weapons? I mean... I suppose that so long as your not using them against me or my men, I don't really see much harm in you keeping them." He adds as the men on the wall lower their crossbows a bit, seeming to relax slightly. "But you see... If there is a hole in my wall, I want to know about it. It's hard enough keeping the entire continent from being overrun with the pox as it is, and it'll only get worse if we allow the sick to escape." He then stands up a little straighter, backing up from the wall a bit cracking his neck. "Maybe we can help each other out. You and your friends don't look sick... but if you stay in there for too long, it's only a matter of time before you end up sick... and no one gets into the city without my approval. So how about you just spend a few minutes and tell me how you got here and what you plan to do here in Liesech."
Following Kitaer and seeing the boneless body almost makes Vesna sick. She somehow manages to keep her breakfast in, but the fact that there is somebody out there, doing this even to corpses, makes the cleric feel very worried and uneasy. She must have been in some state of a shock, because she doesn't even register the shout coming from the guard as they approach the gates and the momentarily heated situation that follows the brief exchange between him and the minotaur. Oh good, at least our leader can diffuse this a bit, she thinks with relief, good thing they don't rely on her trying to win them friends, because with her social anxiety they would probably all be thrown in jail by now.

Aeran Dormaris - L2 Paladin on his way to Phandelver
"We understand you are under orders to contain the plague Captain, but from where we're standing it would be best if a cure was found for all the poor souls dying in here." The young white-haired noble says in a quite serious tone. "To try to answer your question, we arrived here by the use of powerful magic from a place called Waterdeep. Our intentions are to make it our business to rid this place of monsters for a reasonable fee, so you are welcome to turn to us should you have anything that would needed to be dealt with that you don't have the men for." Daryos continues in a polite tone. "We don't know about any hole in your wall but there are creatures somehow coming and going in the night and we intend to find them and stop them." He finishes firmly.
Nesyax shakes her head as Daryos starts with talking about a cure. 'Guess we just hope this fellow doesn't care,' she thinks. She does step forward, closer to the gate and hopefully less a target for crossbows above. Just in case they change their minds.
Stasyn approves of monetizing their services for if or when we deal with the Bone Collector we can also get paid by the guards. He stays silent letting Daryos silver tongue do the talking.
The guard scratches his stubble covered chin as he listens to Daryos. When he mentions the use of powerful magic the mans eyes go wide. "Well! I've never heard of any Waterdeep within the Bürach Empire before... and so i'm sure that means you arn't licensed to be performing magic then. Perhaps you folks belong on the other side of these bars." He says as he folds his arms across his chest. "That being said... Arcane licenses can be given to those that prove themselves to loyal to Liesech and the Bürach Empire... and if what you say is true about creatures sneaking into our quarantine zone are true... then any information on how they are entering the city would be appreciated... and the removal of any said creatures would be appreciated as well." The man says with a nod. "Now... as for curing the pox, I agree completely. If you find a cure for the Pox, you folks would be heroes to more than just the Bürach Empire... you'd be heroes to all of Etharis. I get no enjoyment out of throwing sick kids out into the cold to fend for themselves... but we don't have much choice. only about one in every ten thousand people survive the pox, so trying to save one person normally just ends up in two graves instead of one." The guard captian grumbles. "Don't be offended if I don't hold my breath while you all look for a cure though. The only ones able to create one are the Morbus Doctore and they only use it to keep their pockets lined with gold."
"We weren't the one done did the magic that got us here," Kitaer points out but he's a distance away from the discussion so this is more just for the group's hearing rather than the guards.
"Ten thousand?" he scoffs a bit later. "I'm betting he can't count to ten, nonetheless a thousand..."
"Well, as Kitaer said, we weren't the ones who performed the magic bringing us here but we would appreciate it if we could be informed of any other regulations we should be aware of. We do intend to work within the boundaries of the law." The young white-haired noble says with a polite smile. "But, I'm curious, why won't your ruler simply step in and seize this cure? How is it these Morbus Doctore have this city in a stranglehold?" He asks with a concerned look.
Neyax listens to Daryos as he continues to talk to the guard. Her eyes wander around to what's behind the bars of the gate. She paces slowly, taking note of what she sees there. (Perception: 5)
As the discussion is taking place, Neyax is able to see fairly well maintained streets and buildings that are fairly similar to the ones left behind in Waterdeep. The biggest difference is how emptys the streets are. While the streets of Waterdeep were often loud and busy with foot and carriage traffic, these streets were largely quiet. From where she stands she spots only around a dozen people moving through the streets and a single cart moving down the road...
The guard gives a quick look around before looking back to Daryos. "I'd keep your voice down talking like that" The guard captain would reply as he steps closer to the gate and lowers his voice. "The plague doctors aren't in control of the city... but they are a very powerful organization. Sure the guards could attack the Crows nest and steal whatever supply of the cure they got in there, but we'd lose a lot of men AND any future shipments of the cure." The captain whispers while tapping the side of his head with his finger. "No one knows where they make the stuff... The Crow's nest is just one of the MANY bases of operations that they work out of. They have a headquarters in just about every large city where the pox can be found." He then glances around once more before looking back to Daryos. "I wouldn't mess with them if I were you. They have friends in high places because of their money and their cure. Most of the plague doctors are pretty tough too and they can use some of their potions to hurt you just as easily as they can help you.... And lastly... a lot of average folks like them. They simply see them as public servants that remove infected corpses from the streets and even cure people in their time of need... If you go against the Morbus Doctore, I would make sure you do it in secret... and don't tell me about it... or I might have to throw you in an even worse prison than you are already in." The guard finishes with a grin. You get the feeling that there isn't a worse prison than where you are currently in his mind.
"As for the laws..." he points towards the nearby stone wall. Hanging on an iron nail, you can see a piece of paper hanging just beyond the iron gate next to the captian.
Kitaer walks up and scans the list of offenses. "Who enforces these in the quarantine zone?" he inquires doubtfully expecting that the guards don't enforce much unless it's from a safe distance. Still, no need to antagonize them, he supposes. If Daryos can befriend the guards and get them on our side it would only be for their benefit in the long run.
"Thank you for your concern captain."The young white-haired noble answers a bit dryly. "I suppose you all do what you have to get by, but from where I am standing it is likely the Morbus Doctore that has spread this plague in the first place and are now ransoming you all for a cure. If you don't oppose them now what do you think stops them from taking charge of the city when they grow powerful enough? Food for thought my dear captain, food for thought." Daryos says, ready to continue the tour now.
Nesyax can't help shaking her head again at Daryos' words. As he moves to depart, she steps over towards the guard and gives him a small smile. "If we were to get that information about how creatures getting into this place, how should we find you to let you know about it?" She glances after Daryos a moment before turning back. "And we have established a bit of a headquarters, if you ever need to find us. It's not far from where the Wet Weasel used to be in what I think was an abandoned church."
She then continues after the others. "Heading on down towards the water? I'd like to see the whole place, start to map out the whole place here." She looks around at the area as they go. "Perhaps poke around any likely looking ruins to see if we can find something of use?"
Stasyn heads over to the laws of Burach and makes a copy of them within the pages of his spell book. After all, if one is to find loopholes one must know what laws a currently in place. He patiently waits for the guard to respond to the other's question before asking. "Since you know we are not infected then can we ask you or one of the other guards for supplies we may need in the future?"
"So long as folks arn't doing anything to threaten the city of Liesech... we don't interfere with the activities being performed by the prisoners. For the most part they manage to keep themselves in check... and those that try to re-enter the city are swiftly dealt with." The captain replies to the minotaur. You are all reminded of the first day here when one of the infected individuals tried to rush through the open gate and was quickly cut down.
The captain then listens to Daryos before replying with a dismissing wave of his hand. "The disease started before the Morbus Doctore existed... the plague doctors showed up after. Those are some strong allegations to be making against a very powerful organization. I would recommend that you find yourself some proof before you get yourself in trouble."
When the verdan approaches, the captain gives Stasyn a bit of a strange look. "Well... smuggling equipment into the quarantine zone is strictly prohibited. We provide deliver crates of food and medical supplies once a week. If you prove yourselves as allies to the empire, we may be able to work out a relationship to where you can have special access to equipment.. or even the ability to come and go from the quarantine zone as you see fit... but for now, you are just prisoners... regardless of whether or not you may be sick." The captain says with a smile.
"If we have need of your services, I'll let you know." The captain shouts to Nesyax before turning to walk away from the gate. The men on the wall watch the group as they depart.
OOC: So are you now heading to the Crow's nest and then following the wall back towards the ocean looking for gaps? Or heading to the ocean and then following the wall around and ending at the Crows nest?
"Yes, a map of the quarantine zone would be excellent Ms. Sanaldi, we'll be sure to tour the whole area, including the waterside of course."The young white-haired noble says to Nesyax with a friendly smile as they are on their way again. "I have the sense you didn't approve of what I said to the captain, maybe we can sort out what exactly. Do you fear he will tell the Morbus Doctore what I think of them and the plague, and that they will come for us?" He asks calmly as the walk.
