"if I know goblins, they are not brave, if we can take the head of the snake, we kill is body, should we try to take out the hobgoblin?" Sklin'oth readies a bolt into his crossbow
DMs note: So sorry, I forgot to change that part, there's usually a larger party, but here you're only dealing with 3 total. The bugbear, the shaman and 1 normal Goblin.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The colours of the flame in his head started to swirl and grow. Black (anger), green (hate) and blue (compassion) appear there.
"Let's go!"
He sends a flaming bolt in the direction of the hobgoblin's head
Hit: 18 Damage: 3
Initiative: 5
Bardic inspiration: 6
OOC: ow yea forgot initiative, adding it now. also I know this attack may not have been suposed, but this character is supoposed to be an emotional one, also adding bardic here not to overfill thread

Quorthon starts, suprirised by Sklin's attack. He goes in and takes a drop of blood off his wound and casts Bane on all the goblins. Then he steps back out of the room, just outside the doorway so that he can see in.
Initiative: 19
Casting Time:
1 Action
Range/Area:
30ft.
Components:
V, S, M(a drop of blood)
Duration:
1 Minute
Attack/Save:
CHA 12
Up to three creatures of your choice that you can see within range must make Charisma saving throws. Whenever a target that fails this saving throw makes an attack roll or a saving throw before the spell ends, the target must roll a d4 and subtract the number rolled from the attack roll or saving throw.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, you can target one additional creature for each slot level above 1st.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
DMs note: In this case, you all aren't getting a full surprise round, but I will roll that the first person to run it got 1 surprise attack. That was Sklin'oth. Quorthon casting Bardic Inspiration and Bane is fine as well. After this it's going by Initiative.
Also, everyone please roll a Bardic Inspiration Die: a d6. Whatever you roll, you'll be able to add it to any 1 roll of your choice, and you can decide which roll to add it to AFTER your initial roll. Make sure to use this strategically.
(The party gets ready, but Sklin'oth seems to jump the gun a little bit, throws the door open and rushes in! Quorthon is right behind him, casting Bane on the enemies inside. Sklin'oth attacks the Bugbear with a flaming bolt, but it misses high by about a foot and hits the wall behind him.)
Bugbear Bane Save: 11
Shaman Bane Save: 12
Goblin Bane Save: 18
(The Bugbear and the Shaman are both affected by the Bane spell, but the Goblin does not seem to be.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(Sklin'oth is on fire and manages to get off another Firebolt attack, this time hitting the Bugbear square in the chest, leaving a charred burn mark! The Bugbear bellows out in pain and rage, takes a Javelin and hurls it at Sklin'oth!)
Attack: 8 Damage: 11 - 3
OOC: The -4 is on the attack, making it an 18, but it's still enough to hit.
(The Javelin hits Sklin'oth near the top of the chest and goes thru clean! Sklin'oth took some massive damage and is now unconcious!)
"Keep the spell up, Shaman! Don't stop!" yells the Bugbear.
(The Goblin takes a shot at Sturm with his Bow!)
Attack: 5 Damage: 7
- 1
(The arrow is accurate, but Sturm manages to raise his shield just in time to deflect it.)
(Sturm rushes between the Bugbear and the rest of the party, throws his shield up and slashes at the Bugbear, who manages to side step and avoid the damage. Sturm is now front and center.)
Quorthon, please roll a straight d20 as a death saving throw. Sklin'oth, you're after that.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
DM: Sklin was the one who got knocked unconcious, not me. Also, it would be super helpful to have a visual of where everyone is relative to one another. I want to do the breath attack again, but I DONT want to do it if Sturm or the girl is inthe line of fire. Ideally, I need to hit all three. Otherwise, the bugbear is the main target, with the Shaman. Last priority is the goblin guard/scout.
Seeing Sklin going down and Sturm missing his swing, Quorthon knows theres nothing else to be done but to fight. He goes back into the room and sprays the bugbear and its companions with his fiery breath.
DMs note: So sorry, yes, I did get mixed up. Going around Sturm to use your Breath attack is fine, but you can only get the Bugbear and Shaman, not the other Goblin. As for not being able to do anything, you do have First Aid bandages. Just saying.
(Sklin'oth lays unconscious and bleeding. It's not looking good.)
(Quorthon uses his Breath attack to hit the Bugbear and the Shaman!)
Bugbear Save: 11
Shaman Save: 8
(The Shaman and the Bugbear take a direct hit! The Bugbear is hurt and the Shaman, who already looked exhausted and weak by the spell he was casting, can't take it and keels over, dead. The Bugbear is in a rage.)
"NO! MY RITUAL! YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS!"
(The Bugbear attacks Sturm wildly swinging a Warhammer.)
Attack: 24 Damage: 13
(The Warhammer crushes in Sturm's armor, injuring him badly and he goes unconscious as well!)
(The Goblin takes one more shot at Quorthon.)
Attack: 13 Damage: 3
(The arrow lodges in Quorthon's shoulder, causing him a lot of pain! He's near death as well!)
Quorthon, you're up.
DMs note: I try not to interfere much, but just as an aside, I would allow you to use your turn and a bonus action to bandage up both Sturm and Sklin'oth. They would come back with 1 HP.
Ok, Quorthon uses his bonus action to bandage Sturm, bringing him to 1hp (thanks DM, didn't know I could do that). Then he casts Vicious Mockery on the Bugbear
Vicious Mockery: 3 psychic damage
"It looks like your little ceremony will have to wait. It's too bad youre too stupid to do it yourself!"
Vicious Mockery:
Casting Time:
1 Action
Range/Area:
60ft.
Components:
V
Duration:
Instantaneous
Attack/Save:
WIS 12
You unleash a string of insults laced with subtle enchantments at a creature you can see within range. If the target can hear you (though it need not understand you), it must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or take 1d4 psychic damage and have disadvantage on the next attack roll it makes before the end of its next turn.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Wisdom saving throw: 10
(The Vicious Mockery looks to be affecting the Bugbear, but he just barely manages to shake it off and lets out a mighty roar. Sturm is bandaged up and still very, very hurt, but he hunkers down behind his shield and braces himself. The Bugbear attacks Sturm once more with his Warhammer!)
Attack: 7 Damage: 5
-1 to hit
(Sturm's shield holds fast against the Bugbears Warhammer attack. The other Goblin uses this opportunity to attack Sturm with an arrow as well!)
"if I know goblins, they are not brave, if we can take the head of the snake, we kill is body, should we try to take out the hobgoblin?" Sklin'oth readies a bolt into his crossbow

Sturm
(Gonna just type out my move now for the sake of time since weekend is coming up)
Quorthon cheers as Sturm slices into the bugbear. He tries himself to finish him off with his longsword. Wielding it in two hands he strikes!
Two handed longsword attack: 18
Damage: 5
Note: If bugbear is actually just dead, I attack the goblin of course.
EDIT: Forgot I should probably help out poor Sklin with my bonus action!
