In the quaint village of Lostfall the villagers who would normally be hard at work preparing everything for Santa's yearly ride where still in shock that he was planning to cancel it this year. They had heard that he hadn't been feeling well but they had hoped that their hero would be feeling better before now, being Christmas Eve eve there was hardly any time before the ride was to happen.
"Miss C, are you sure that this is a good idea? What if they don't make it back before it's time to leave?" A Halfling questioned, looking up at the Elven woman in front of her.
"It's difficult to say, but I have faith in them. I know it's a risk but we have to take it, if all else fails I can always do it this year instead even though everyone will be expecting Santa." Miss Claus replied, before glancing towards the toy shop for a moment. "But hopefully things will go well." As she says this another Halfling approaches from the gates of the village.
"Miss Claus, there are a group of strangers at the gate. Shall I let them in?" He questioned earning a nod from the elf. As he runs back towards the gate she follows after, hoping that the strangers would be willing to assist them. Once they reached the gate she assists the Halfling with opening the gate.
{Hello everyone! If you could, kindly introduce your characters.}
Regis Terrafang wanders the lands, finding runes that interest him with their uniqueness and learning all possible ways to use them. While on the sidelines to provide funds for his travels, he takes on numerous dangerous tasks with high rewards, so he won't need to do any for some time. Funny as that sounds, as a child, he grew up among monks and was chosen to learn the Way of Shadow due to his talent matching it. In addition, thanks to learning runes, he can easily adapt them for combat usages; however, he dislikes doing this too often as he already has many methods for combat and wants to use runes to improve his daily lifestyle instead. He finds it more useful this way as he has fewer methods to make his lifestyle a breeze and bring him happiness. One of his favorite times is Christmas, as Santa is the one who gave him the light of his world. Dropping a book on runes, it became his favorite subject in the world. Therefore, upon hearing that Santa Claus has fallen ill and his wife, Miss Claus, is asking for help. He did his absolute best to head over to where Santa lives and will do everything in his power to help Santa in any way possible.
So, upon seeing Miss Claus and the halfling, he became a little nervous, hoping the worst hadn't come.
Po waits patiently at the gate, seemingly lost in thought as he takes long draws on his tobacco pipe. The bright-eyed gnome uses the opportunity to apply a bit of magic to the thick curls of gray smoke that rise over his head, and a tiny smile crosses his face as the smoke takes the form of several bluebirds before dissipating into the chilly air. As the halfling and Mrs. Claus draw near, Po takes on a slightly more serious demeanor and says softly to no one in particular, "How intriguing all of this is."
When the gate at last opens, Po steps forward and announces himself with a slight bow. "Podimmerus Quizmire...and friends...here, Miss Claus. We are honored. Indeed!"
Po is draped in a heavy, fur-lined cloak, underneath which is a suit of studded leather armor, a rapier, and a pair of daggers. His stature, appearance, and liveliness easily give him away as a forest gnome.
After months of flying about the lands, a massive Silver Dragon swoops down and lands suddenly with a massive thud on the ground, seeing that she wasn't the first to arrive here. At first she glares at the others who apparently have came here for the same purpose as she did, but then, as she turns her somewhat disinterested gaze and looks back, she suddenly transforms from a 10 foot tall dragon into a blue-horned girl that appears to be in her early 20s. In her human form, she sports a blue dress with matching slippers plus a white fur coat that loosely hangs on her arms. Her dragon features such as her wings, horns and tail still remain visible as she walks up to the gates as it opens.
It's an honour to be called on to assist you. She speaks telepathically to the woman as she gives her a polite, but formal courtesy. An extremely shy dragon-in-disguise, she hardly talks in front of others and prefers to speak via telepathically most of the time; expect her to ramble a lot in her head rather than through her voice. You're Mrs Claus if I'm not mistaken? I've heard tales of you and your husband for decades. Many townsfolk I've interacted with tell tales and fantasies about both of you, specifically, on one particular day called... Christmas, or so they say. So... to actually meet you in person is a great honour.

Sparhawk is a Paladin from the Pandion Order of Militant Knights. The Pandions are the protectors of the people and the kingdoms, known for their swordsmanship, and in some cases, their brutality. Sparhawk wears black lacquered armor, a visored helmet, and carries a heavy shield. He rides a large warhorse named Faran who is a bit of a brute and sometimes has a mind of his own.
He also wears a white/silver surcoat with the Pandion insignia in the center. He is not considered a handsome man, his nose being broken on occasion, but he is steadfast and has an outward calm demeanor.
He is holding his helmet under his right arm, and bows to everyone and to Mrs. Claus. "I am Sir Sparhawk of the Pandion Order, and it is my deepest honor to meet you Mrs Claus, and to you all as well. I have come in answer of your call."
Amongst this motley crowed of characters lies a rather slender tiefling man, draped in a silk and fir coat under which is the slight gleam of half plate armor. He is a studious looking fellow with a handsome square and ornate spectacles on his face. He has an amulet resting on his neck that shows signs of religious origins. He also has two huge black feathered wings protruding out of his back.
“Hello, Miss Claus. I am Jang Uk, a scholar and arcane user here to represent the Moon order library. I am deeply interested and studying your tradition and uses of the arcane once this whole debacle ends. Lastly I hope it is not to informal but if you do choose to refer to me in more friendly terms, please call me Uk. My people put the surname first.”
Miss Claus looks at everyone with a saddened expression. While she was happy to see that somebody had actually come to assist her, she wished that it hadn't been for something so troublesome. As she looked at the party she took a breath before curtsying.
"It is a pleasure to meet all of you, I just wish that it was under better circumstances. As you've probably heard my husband has fallen ill, he... he wants to cancel Christmas this year even though I offered to do it for him so he can rest up and recover. He...he is convinced that nobody believes in him or cares about Christmas anymore." She paused for a moment before nodding to everyone. "I would be happy to assist you with studying us after you return Uk."
Regis is dumbfounded upon hearing Santa, of all people, would want to cancel Christmas!
"What kind of illness did Santa get? And was there no way of curing it before Christmas Eve for him to visit all those who believe in him? What can we do to help?" He asks with determination. "Also, how long has he been sick?"
“I am not trained in the art of medicine but I would be happy to offer my knowledge in examining and potentially healing Mr. Claus” Uk says with an uneasy expression.
"I might not know much about medicine. But, I have knowledge of poison itself. So, if Santa is poison, I can check if this sickness was natural or a man-made deal." Regis frowns, hoping Santa is actually just naturally sick. Otherwise, things will become more complicated than it already is.
The dragon girl gasps audibly especially after hearing that Santa himself thinks he should cancel the festive event. Wait... cancel Christmas? She telepathically speaks with a shocked tone. But then... the townsfolk... every single village I've visited... how would they react to that? Every people I've met over the decades believes that your husband is real. Even though they cannot see him in person. Believe me, miss. There are people who still celebrate. And I don't want to see frowns on their faces should I get the chance to return to them for a visit. I don't celebrate it myself, but seeing others is enough to prolong my smile when I pass them. I'll help in anyway I can, but you'll need to
She's got zero expertise in treating illnesses, but even so, she would never back down from these scenarios even if it costs something valuable to her. Please... tell me more about his illness... and also what is required of us if we need to keep this festive spirit alive. If everyone is hear for then same thing then... then I should at least hear you out first.

Po listens to Mrs. Claus's brief summary of her husband's health. He then muses aloud, "Ailing in body...or spirit, I wonder?"
After taking another long draw on his pipe, the gnome exhales a cloud of smoke that he transforms into bundles of illusory packages wrapped in ribbons. "Well, Mrs. Claus, I say this: allow him to see the lot of us gathered here on his behalf. Maybe that will be a step toward convincing him that folks still very much believe in him and the importance of his work."
Sparhawk shakes his head, "Someone or something is working very hard to destroy the hearts and minds of the good people, if Santa cancels Christmas. We must stop this from occurring and help him."
"It appears to be a mixture of Shivering Sickness and Mindfire. We have sent for a healer but they've had to take the long way round due to some unforeseen circumstances. Well perhaps seeing you all here might help a little." As she says this she looks down for a moment before taking a deep breath. "He's been sick for six days now."
Miss Claus felt her heart break a little as she listened to the dragon girl. "They... they would be devastated once they found out. I don't want that to happen, I've even offered to go in his stead but I have a feeling it's the mindfire talking. It hurts to see him like this and I wouldn't wish this on anyone."
"He's been dealing with blurred vision, feeling disorientated, and a sudden drop in body temperature but he's also been acting as if he's been struck by a confusion spell."She slowly turns around and begins to motion for the party to follow her. "If we could find a way to deal with what caused the healer to be delayed then we might not have to worry about searching nearby towns, cities and villages for proof that the people still believe in my husband."
"If we can't figure a way to cure Santa, then we will deal with whatever is delaying the healer." Regis scowls as he walks along with everyone, glancing at the areas. "If needed, I do happen to have a Periapt of Health to stop the illnesses from advancing even more." He takes out the magic item from his [magicitem]Bag of Holding[magicitem].

"Seems a strange combination of maladies," remarks Po.
The gnome looks at the other adventurers gathered about and asks, "Anyone heard of them?"
After loosing another column of tobacco smoke into the air, Po steps toward Mrs Claus. "Mrs. Claus, you say this trouble fell upon Santa six days ago. Was there anything else...or anyone else...out of the ordinary around that time? Do you recall anything unusual at all?"

Otherwise, a customized poison with similar effects to Mindfire could be done, too. While he isn't too sure which versions of the Shivering Sickness Santa might have, other than he hopes it isn't the one where it would cause him to die after four months. Either way, both diseases are not good, especially when there are both of them simultaneously.

Sparhawk nods in agreement, this doesn't sound like a normal sickness. A curse or a dark spell perhaps may be the cause of the infliction
Uk will search his mind for spells or creature that can cause this affect.
