Catching Cunning's glance, Titus called out to Thrudor from outside the room, "If it's too fancy, it's probably too expensive." Looking suspiciously towards the kobold who'd brought them there, he added, "Taking extra probably incurs some serious debt; you never know."

Thrudor hears Titus and looks at the shield then at the guard then back at the shield....."Well errr I will just take the GPs then and be done with this game"

The guard leans in towards Thrudor and whispers in his ear, "Those kobolds never made sense to me. Everything they do is a test—first your strength, now your wisdom. I don't know why."

Cunning notices a gauntlet in the corner and picks it up. It seems normal but then again....

He turns to Jak "Can you detect anything magical about this? Knowledge of the arcane is not my strong suit"

A cat-sized yellow dragon with butterfly-like wings flies into the room, landing in the middle. It looks around, then begins staring at cunning.

Cunning looks at the creature then around room "Errr.... This may sound strange but can anybody else see a miniature dragon like creature?"

Titus nodded confirmation from outside the room. "I see it."

The guard laughs. "What are you playing-" he stops when he sees the dragon. "What is that?"

The flies up to eye level with Cunning, only a few feet away now. It seems to laugh as it turns invisible.

“There are a few magical things in this room…oh!” Jakus exclaims as the miniature dragon flies into the room. “As I was saying, this might be a test from the kobolds. Take too much, even by accident, and we might face some problems. I’m personally just taking my share of gold, and I would advise everyone else to do the same. If you’re looking for a shield,” Jakus turns to Thrudor, “there’s likely a local blacksmith who has one for purchase. That way, we avoid the risk of taking too much, as well as support a local business.” Jakus collects his 55 gold and not a single coin over.

Shaking his head, the former marine walked into the room after Jakus. He quickly grabbed a bag of coins, counted out exactly 54 gold pieces, and added them to his own coin purse before setting the bag back down. He then looked around for a few minutes, until he spotted a small white cloth pouch. Picking it up, he felt through the exterior, and heard a slight clinking from inside. Satisfied--in a sense--he walked back out the room before adding the cloth pouch into his backpack.

(( OOC: Along with the 54gp, Titus will grab a small pouch of 10 pieces of chalk. ))

The dragon becomes visible right above Titus's head, then invisible a second later. 4 knives are placed on the floor; a gold knife, one with a dark leather handle, one average-looking dagger, and a long thin blade that reflects no light. The dragon places them all in the center and stands next to them. It points its head towards the daggers, then holds up 1 finger.

"Huh," grunted Titus. "I don't suppose anyone can cast a spell to talk to the little guy?"

The dragon makes a motion of grabbing a knife, then holds up one finger. It gives a thumbs up and points its head at the door, then give a thumbs down and slices its throat with its hand. It then looks back at the knives.

*Jakus speaks draconic

Cunning looks at the dragon and speaks in common "You want us to take a dagger?"

He watches the dragons actions "If we pick the wrong one it's trouble?"

The dragon nods and begins laughing as it flies towards the daggers.

Cunning decides to take a risk and picks up the dagger with the leather handle "OK, little friend, what about this one?"

The dragon looks at the dagger for a moment before nodding. It turns invisible as it flies away. The guard looks confused. "Perhaps the normal dagger wasn't valuable enough, gold can't be hidden well, and the other one is too old or rusted to reflect light? Maybe..."

The dragon places three cups on the ground, containing a clear liquid. The cups are identical and placed in a line. "I've seen this. 2 are poisoned. Of course it wouldn't really poison you. It wants you to take the left, middle, or right cup."

Thrudor exits the treasury with his little sack of gold and looks at the daggers and the thing fluttering about "What is the meaning of this? This place is ....what is the word....I don't like the games...Maybe we should go about our next business hmm?"

 Cunning wonders whether the gauntlet and dagger are worth keeping, or if gold might be safer. He suddenly turns to the little dragon with a look of curiosity "My little friend, how would you like to go on a journey with us? We can't guarantee it will be safe but it should be interesting."

Jakus frowns at the yellow dragon. “Okay, what are you, and what do you want with us?“ he asks the dragon in Draconic.
