Thrudor watches his companions beat on the ogre and trip it. He smiles at their ingenuity and tactics and thinks maybe they have a chance. He thinks how he would have taken the ogre out with a different plan of his own but his companions seem to have it. He doesn't want to hurl his guided bolt or attack from afar in fear he may accidently hit one of his companions while the ogre is on the ground so he holds his attack for when the ogre gets up and to heal anyone who may need it when the ogre gets up and attacks.

Well, this is going better than I expected, Jakus thinks as he sees Titus attack, disarm, and trip the ogre all at once. He realizes that attacking from this distance might be dangerous, so Jakus takes out his orb in his left hand and mutters a couple words. In his right hand, a small orb of fire forms, but Jakus holds his action until the ogre gets off of the ground.

Action: Cast Fire Bolt (held until Ogre gets up)

To hit: 17, Damage: 7 (rolled in game log)

The Ogre stands up, looking around at who attacked him. He's hit by a firebolt, and pulls a clump of branches off a tree, throwing them at Jakus. 8 Bludgeoning damage

Grinning, Anasfyra let’s out an Eldritch Blast from her palm, aimed straight at the ogre.  

Ranged spell attack: 15

Damage if it hits: 5 force damage

If the ogre is still within 15 feet of where Phantasmal Force was cast, the illusion continues to attack it, dealing: 5 psychic damage

The Ogre lets out a final grunt as it goes. There is an eerie silence after the battle is over. Up ahead, Cynthesia is barely in view.

Cunning looks around for something else to hit. Not seeing anything he sighs and the rage slips away, leaving a slight feeling of disappointment. He looks around the rest of the group and grunts "Magic man hurt, needs help". He shakes his head and tries again "Apologies, rage hangover. Jakus you appear to be injured, do you need assistance?"

Thrudor walks over after watching and waiting. “You are all very skilled. Very skilled indeed. You dispatched the ogre quite quickly. Nicely done. Jakus seems to be gotten a bit of a bump….Are you alright?”

Jakus is sitting against a tree, gingerly touching his head where the branches hit him. He winces, sucking in a sharp intake of breath and pulls his hand away. “Yeah, I’m hurt,” Jakus says, his head throbbing and his vision starting to spin. “Is anyone able to cast some kind of healing spell? If not that’s fine, I’ll survive until tomorrow.”

Thrudor smiles and casts good berry. He hands all ten over to Jak. “Here you go young man. These berries heal provide nourishment for the day but also heal you of your bumps and bruises”

Jakus smiles at Thrudor as he takes the goodberries. “Thank you,” he says, before consuming the berries. Immediately the pain subsides, and Jakus sighs in relief. “That feels much better now.”

"Looks like we're almost at Cynthesia," said Titus, pointing towards the city, but looking around at where the ogre had rampaged from. "Anyone need a rest? We should have plenty of time now; we'd still make it before night fall. But either way, I'd like a few minutes just to search the area."

(( Titus wants to just search the immediate area and the ogre itself to see what, if anything, it had on its person, and if there were anything of note (loot, kobold corpses, etc.) in the vicinity. Perception Check: 6 ))

You see nothing worth noting on the ogre, although on the floor you find a sketch of 6 adventurers with the Adenguard crest in the background. All 6 adventurers are crossed out in red ink.

Anasfyra couldn’t help but frown as the fight ended.  “That was much easier than I had hoped,” she admitted to her companions.  “Then again, most stories have the adventurers starting off facing weak foes anyways, so perhaps we’re simply playing our part.” 

Turning to Titus, she smiled.  “I wouldn’t mind a short rest, but I don’t mind moving forward either.   We are close to our goal, so perhaps it’s best to push on.”  She’d then join him in searching the area, more so to keep active than for any other reason.   

(That was way too easy, the ogre went last and got knocked over and disarmed)

You do notice a small area without trees and thick grass, which could make a good resting spot. There is nothing else important you can find.

Thrudor sits on a stump near the dead ogre and looks at the others “A rest? These old bones are ok with sitting a moment”

*The sun will set in about 3 hours, giving time for a short rest.

As the group sat for a rest, Titus brought the sketch to the attention of the others. "This doesn't look like us," he noted, "so maybe it's the other adventurers who went before us? And apparently, someone didn't want them poking around."
