 Elias look's up at Jakus and smiles greatly, Now entering his more "Arrogant" type of personality. He speaks as though he was some great hero of the realm although. He simply got help beating a Monster. ``Well! I was born in a Fishing Village far from Civilization, My Whole Life I trained to be a Hero! (Lie) I pushed myself to be better than anyone! (Lie) And then one day! Despite being a Humble Chef, (Truth) I took down a Giant Monstrous Beast! (Slightly True)". He sat there with his Hand on his Chest and walked with Great Arrogance.

As the party walks, the gates close and they reach a large, open field. There isn't much here but flowers as you walk up and down hills.

Now that the party is on the march, Titus remains silent, focusing forward except for occasional glances around them, scanning the area for threats as they proceed.

With the eyes of an eagle, you see everything in the area. The birds in the sky, the forest in the distance, that rock near the left, the bugs crawling on the ground, you can see in the far north a storm is brewing. You can hear something moving in the forest ahead.

You also somehow spot a single silver coin under the grass.

Thrudor walks along with the help of his staff listening to young Elias boast of his accomplishments "Oh your stories sound like you have experienced a good deal in such a short time yes? Thrudor is happy to have someone traveling who has faced down such beasts!" Thrudor doesn't cast doubt on the stories. "Thrudor can't say he's killed any giant beasts!"

Fast forwarding time a bit because nothing is happening in the plains...

You approach the edge of the forest, and Titus (with perception 24) knows something is here. The trees are thick and close together, but sunlight can still come through the leaves.

(( Titus hadn't stopped for the silver coin, but had pointed it out if anyone else wanted to pick it up. ))

"Hold."

The fighter had stopped, right at the edge of the forest. He peered in, straining to listen for the sounds of... something. He wasn't sure.

"There's something here," he said in a low voice, not turning around. "Can't tell what, though. Be on your guard."

He glanced back to make sure everyone had heard, and was alert, before facing forward again and slowly stepping through the treeline.

You hear a sound not too far away. Roll perception to tell where it is.

Cunning moves forward in line with Titus but several paces to the side, drawing his hand axes; the maul is better for open space fighting. He steps carefully and stealthily.

As he moves he scans ahead and to the sides, relying on his primal senses rather than sight.

Perception 4

Cunning moves stealthily... well, not really. He's so nervous about this, this, whatever it is, that he pays no attention to his surroundings.

Jakus’ eyes narrow, scanning the surroundings to try and find whatever is making the sound.

Is that a... something is moving... something large? Something large is moving.

Thrudor stands and watches his companions try to figure out what’s making noises….Thrudor sees Cunning try to stealthily move into the woods….poorly move into the woods….Thrudor listens and wonders

You do not think that this is a natural sound. Thump. Thump. Some large creature...

Hearing the sound of something large moving about Cunning decides that the maul may be the better choice after all. He stows his axes and draws the maul, holding it ready for a swing if needed.

A strange roar erupts through the forest, followed by the sound of snapping branches. An ogre can be seen coming in this direction. It hasn't seen you yet.

Thrudor will move behind his companions and ready himself to aid them in what looks to be a fight with the ogre the kobolds mentioned

Titus ducked behind a tree and quickly dropped off his backpack and gear. Then he drew his greatsword and stepped out, to where the ogre would eventually see him. He kept his sword low, in a passive stance so as not to appear threatening, and watched the creature as he waited for it to notice him.

(( He won't yell out yet, in case anyone needs a round or however long to prepare... or do something else. And he'll ready an action; if the ogre comes within range and tries to attack without being provoked, Titus will attack as well. ))
