“I’ll go with Thrudor, just to make sure nothing happens to him and the bottle along the way,” Jakus replies. “At some point we should interrogate to leopard that tried to kill us, so maybe after we return we could do that.”

Thrudor nods to the orc "Thank you....That is what we will do. Hopefully we will be back to unfreeze the prince and earn your thanks hmm?"

Cunning doesn't move, or even turn his head "Ok, you do that. I'll stay here and discuss leadership skills with the general."

The general throws a knife in the air and catches it by the tip of the blade. "I agree, I do have great leadership skills. Is there something you want me to teach you? I'm the best there is!" He literally bites a piece of the blade off, without cutting himself.

Cunning sighs "I doubt it. I find wisdom is better learnt from the wise, not the loud."

Titus did his best to hide his growing irritation with the general. Forcing a smile, he addressed the man, "We're here to investigate the encroaching winter. The ice. Whatever you want to call it. We'd be happy to hear any information you have about it, or to follow up on any leads. We found the assassin standing outside your city gate; have you noticed any other strange people or incidents since all this started?"

The general thinks about this for a moment. "I have 3 stories for you. Story 1. There was a criminal stealing some documents concerning territory. The criminal was caught running with the documents and threw them in the air. The wind was blowing south, but the papers blew north. Story 2. Another time, a trade snake had to cross through the edge of the Frozen Wastes. Trade snakes are popular in Veysha, where 4-6 wagons will travel in a trail. The trade snake had 5 wagons, each carrying a different resource. After they passed through the Wastes, there were only 4 wagons, the weapon wagon was gone. They had no memory of there being a 5th wagon. One man was guiding each wagon, and no one remembered the 5th person existed, not even his brother, who was one of the merchants in the trade snake. But the weirdest story is Story 3 when one of my men, Timen, was in Cynthesia investigating a crime. My messengers gave me updates on his progress every 2 days. One report stated he discovered a being with frost powers and found a book with information on something living in the Shadowglass Sea. It was late and Timen decided to sleep before continuing, and he froze to death that night. He was staying at someone's house, and that person said he felt fine."

"Are these stories, or actual events?"

"If it's the latter then it confirms that we're dealing with something arcane and powerful."

Thrudor shakes his head in dismay "Indeed....the winter is unnnatural. Perhaps we meet with Wilser about this vial and then come back to the esteemed general to hear more. If we are able to save the prince, perhaps he would like to be a part of this conversation hmm?

“Sounds like a plan, let’s get moving then,” Jakus says to Thrudor. “Hopefully this will all make sense soon.”

"Real events. You better get going soon."

Titus nodded at Thrudor. "Let's hope this works," he muttered under his breath, glancing backward at the general before leaving.

Cunning also turns to leave, ignoring the orc and speaking to the group "Does anybody have any knowledge of similar events, maybe in the past, and does our invisible friend have anything to report?"

Thrudor begins walking out thinking of Cunning's question if he has heard of anything like these stories

Thrudor,

"Oh come to think of it I do remember an odd occurence in the woods where I live. A wolf pack is not odd to see in the woods but white wolves....all white in a pack is odd. They stuck out in the woods. Typically animals blend in with their surroundings but not these particular wolves. Once they walked through, I noticed a change in the temperature shortly thereafter.....it had become colder. I did not think much of it at the time but now.....odd a traveler in Stroud Woods saw these very same wolves. He paid more attention to them and said they seemed to be following a scent of some sort.....hmmm odd indeed"

"They sound like winter wolves, but they wouldn't normally leave the ice. I'm not sure if they would be weakened by the warmth, but if we do come across them keep your distance and don't let them breathe on you."

"Errrr, does anybody know where we're going? I'm not accustomed to cities. Anything more than a handful of tents and a meadhall is out of my comfort zone."

Thrudor shrugs and suggests ...."We should ask one of the guards to point us to Wilser"
