Sitting at the bar is a dwarf. No longer young, but not yet old, a long white beard flows from his face. He looks at the tiefling and then turns to the bartender. "I think I'll have what he's having."
Turning back to tiefling he says, "Hello there. If you don't mind my saying, you seem like the adventuring sort." He reaches out with a friendly hand, "I've heard rumors of a group set out from Adenguard and I must admit I've also got a desire to see what all these rumors about the death of a king and the dark clouds are about. Might you be part of that group? My name is Phait, yours?"

The bartender's eyes narrow. "That's you guys?" He then laughs to himself as a though comes to mind. "Hey, don't succeed too soon, the winter is good for my business. Joking, of course."
A messenger wearing gold-colored robes runs up to the party. "Thank you for thawing the prince. He was thinking-" he holds out an ornate brass horn encased in ice, "that you would be able to unfreeze this family heirloom?"
Cunning takes the offered hand. "Greetings, I am Cunning of the Green-moss tribe. I didn't realise we were famous. Allow me to introduce my companions, Thrudor and Titus."
He turns to the barman "I think your profits will be safe for a short while yet. And some of us like the cold, it reminds me of home."
"Pleased to meet you, Cunning." smiles Phait, He waves at a Thrudor and Titus. He glances at the messenger and back to Cunning, "So, you guys rescued a prince? It seems what little I learned from the rumors left out some interesting tales."
He looks at the horn. "Hmm." he mumbles.
History: 15+3 = 18 // if it's an heirloom of a noble family, wondering if he's heard anything about it
Phait's history check: (and just so you know, when I say its someone's ability check with a spoiler box, it's for their eyes only. Better than sending a PM every time and allows them to keep what they found secret, also lets them tell what they found to the party on their own for more fun. So, only you and I can see this one.)
You've heard there was a horn that has been passed down in a royal family after being a gift, but no one here knows its history. There was a rumor of a... warlock? You've only heard that rumor once and can't remember the details, but there was a rumor that a warlock disappeared because of the horn.
Titus silently motioned to catch Thrudor's attention, and gave a quick head tilt to point out the kobold he'd spotted:
Conveniently, on the table next to it you notice a group with the tiefling, 2 dwarfs, a human, and a kobold. The kobold is wearing black hooded robes, but his hood is off, revealing a white-scaled head. Other than that, you can't see any kobolds in the bar.
It was then that he noticed the dwarf talking to Cunning. Curious, the fighter simply started sipping his ale to see what the newcomer was wanting before approaching their quarry.
"So," asks Phait of Cunning, "this prince you guys saved, where was he from? I've heard stories, children's bedtime stories most likely," Phait chuckles somewhat derisively at the notion of what he's about to say, "of some magic user trapped in a horn. But perhaps it's your lucky day!" He raises his ale with a smile before taking a drink.
Thrudor asks for a water and greets the new comer kindly with a bow "Hello, Indeed I am Thrudor. Adventurers is a strong word for our group...alas we were 5 and now are 3. We have been thrust together to solve this winter issue.....We did chisel the prince out with these magical items...I say chisel the horn out carefully. Perhaps blowing it will provide us with some aid in this crazy endeavor"
The messenger sets down the horn. "Break the ice. If it didn't harm the prince, it shouldn't harm the horn. And again, I thank you for saving him." Some people turn and look at the group they've heard so much about. "Stop staring, people, they're on business." The bartender calls out as he himself stares at the party.

Titus remained silent, ale in hand, as he watched the others handle the horn with growing curiosity. Of course, he kept making discrete glances towards the kobold to ensure he didn't slip away unnoticed.
(( Perception Check to keep an eye on the kobold: 20 ))
Cunning takes the axe and carefully chips the ice away. He holds it at eye level to see if it's clear and spots a piece a piece of ice lurking inside. Taking a deep breath he puts it to his lips to try and blow the ice out.
At first the only result is Cunning starting to turn red in the face, but then the ice breaks, hurtling out of the horn and bouncing off the ceiling, followed by a very discordant note.
The others grimace at the sound. Cunning looks at them "What did you expect? Do I look like a bard!"
You're senses sharpen like an eagle and you see him with perfect clarity, so much so that you can see he has is looking at a map, and you can see a prideful smile on his face. One of the dwarfs marks an X near the right side of the map, and you can hear the words "The target is in place. The cargo arrives at midnight, Simon has it in the eastern tunnel."
The ice chips away with some effort around the horn, then suddenly a gush of liquid flows from around the horn itself as it is freed—the strange exotic metal is warm to the touch and has melted the last layer of ice around itself.
A large chunk of ice has lodged itself in the bell of the trumpet, and Cunning clears it by the simple expedient of sounding the instrument, the first time it has been played in centuries! A sloppy blort of mixed air and water sounds at first like a drowning piglet, but transforms into a single sonorous tone as the obstruction is cleared.
The unexpected sonic intrusion quiets the crowd in the immediate vicinity, and a thickening stream of smoke comes out of the horn, forming into a smoky figure that gains solidity in mere seconds, forming into…

Fuego:
The figure in the smoke forms into a man with tanned skin from years in the desert sun, wearing desert silks and stylized studded leather armor. Smooth black hair frames a striking handsome face that contorts a bit at the quality of the note just sounded.
The figure whirls in the air as he approaches the ground, slinging a great fan of flames into the sky as he lands in front of his rescuer in a deep bow in the style of the southern nomads. Heat radiating out from his lithe frame, he introduces himself, saying, “I am Fuego, at your service. How may I repay the one who has freed me from centuries of confinement?”
Persuasion to make a good if rather theatric first impression: 8 (and if advantage applies: 14)
Thrudor covers his ears as the horn is played "That was less than inspiring" suddenly as a man appears from the horn Thrudor raises the spot on his head where an eyebrow would be if he had them "Hello there Fuego. I am Thrudor, and these are Cunning and Titus....oh and this here is Phait" Thrudor pauses before asking the obvious question "Say young chap why were you trapped in a horn?"
”I was betrayed by an Efreet sorceress and trapped in my vessel, exiled from my homeland and sent far to the north,”replies Fuego respectfully to Thrundor.
He then turns to Cunning, still in a low bow, “I owe you a life debt for my freedom, Master Cunning, though I do not have the power to grant wishes as a true Jann does. How may I be of service?”
