The tabaxi watching the dock from the crow's nest salutes you, Arutha, as you climb aboard the ship. Seeing that you are in Blundr's good graces, the feline humanoid has no need to draw the longbow strapped around his chest and nock an arrow for you.
Blundr guides you to the cargo bay, where a man with a full beard and wavy hair is double checking the delivery against the manifest. To his right stands Dundr. To Dundr's right stands a half-orc. And to the right of the half-orc stands a female high elf. They're a rugged group, each a capable warrior in his or her own right.
The lids of ten crates have been set aside. A ball of magical fire hovers over each container, providing more than sufficient light to count the items inside. As Dundr lifts each pair of boots, you catch the female elf mouth something inaudible.
"Ale Gripp, Ale. Me friend here wants ale. Perhaps wine for the lady and water for the kids? And then some talk fer a moment? You look mighty busy, maybe me knows someone who can lend a hand."
Cath motions to Kaiylin.
"Me friend Kaiylin 'ere be lookin fer work. She says she has skill in brewin and mayhaps kitchen work. Can ye help her out.?"
OOC. Honestly, folks, I've never had such a harder time trying to decide MVP. Each of you contributed to the story. Actions influenced outcomes. Conversations altered the storyline. Each of you has made a mark which can't be dismissed. I'm awarding the entire party the MVP. Typically a single character receives the bonus. I'm awarding 50 XP to each character. Well done, all. ~ Adventurehalz
OOC: That is cool, But I am curious how we are going to get everyone back together with all the varying storylines. lol
There are six tracks in this adventure. I designed it that way. So, if the party splits up and characters team up separately, well, that's just how the party rolls. Eventually, the storyline makes sense. All the tracks eventually connect. It's why the initial wait in Line seems so broad. I didn't explain much. I can't. That would lead you. Doing that takes away your freedom.
Seeing the words of the elven woman, Arutha lets out a particularly harsh curse. "The only thing I would do with an Orc is to send it to the afterlife! Do not insult me in such a manner as that!" His hand goes to one of his sword hilts before he realizes what he is doing and takes a visable breath and removes his hand from his sword. "I am sorry, I greatly dislike Orcs"

"As do I, traveler. Make no mistake." Symaliea regards Arutha with newfound respect, speaking plainly for all to hear. "Perhaps he isn't the one selling your boots to the orcs, Master Dwarf."
"Yer powers of observation are other worldly," Blundr retorts sarcastically, tipping the boot sole into the light, so you can better see.
The History check Arutha successfully rolled earlier... just a minor detail... the Iron Troubadour's previous captain was a dwarf known as the Iron Spine. The tabaxi at the crow's nest triggered the memory. The dwarf was killed onboard the Troubadour. He second-mate, Matthias is now her captain.
The Perception check you made Arutha alerts you to the design feature in the soles. The negative space in the treads would leave a unique print, crisscrossing handles that vanish off the boot. The print isn't easily noticed. it's disguised well.

The dwarf merchant nods.
"We don't know if he's the one selling your boots to the orcs."
Cath, make a Persuasion roll.
Persuasion 18
Edit - Ugh I'm a sucky roller
OOC: if i wanted to help Kaiylin get the job with them do i make a separate roll or can i give Cath the aid action?
You are welcome to offer the Help action, or you could redirect the conversation to yourself, and attempt your own Persuasion roll.
