Another goblin goes down. The rest of the goblins start looking at each other worriedly. They’re still coming at you, just a little slower and more apprehensive.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Evelyn, seeing the goblins, clutches her necklace in one hand and blasts at a goblin with the other, casting eldritch blast as a bolt of green light bounces off of walls and strikes at the goblin.
Evelyn fells another goblin, and Centurion takes a swipe at another, forcing it to step back. Taking a look at there downed comrades and at each other, the two remaining Goblins make a wordless decision. They turn around, using both their action and their bonus action to double Dash away. Fleeing as far as the eye can see into the crumbling ruins of Old Sharn. "Garra will hear about this you bastards, you don't mess with Daask and get away with it."
As quickly as it heated up, the noise of battle dies down. Now that you can see into the pit, you see there are a few figures huddled together in the middle, one of them lying on the floor unmoving. The hut on the other side of the pit with the sobbing child in it is still lit up.
Mark will walk up to the child, "Hey kid, it will be okay. You are safe now, come with us and we will get you home safe and sound." Mark puts his hand out for the child to grab.
Elero will pick up his clockwork light and bring it over to the edge of the pit. "Here," he'll say with a smile, "no more being stuck in the dark." He'll toss it down to one of the children.
"Let's rig up a rope and get them out of there." He'll pull the rope out of his pack and look for a suitable anchor. "Or," he'll offer it to Centurion, "can you hold it for them? The rest of us can keep an eye out in case the goblins return."
I'll assume you were both walking up to the closer figures in the pit and not the hut with the sobs. You see that the figures are not children but a group of warforged all tied together with a chain. One of the warforged has died and it's lightless eyes look at nothing from its head, lying two feet from the rest of its torso. The rest of the warforged look at you blankly as you walk up. One of them speaks to you, "Why are you killing your friends? Aren't you Daask agents as well? Or are you from a rival gang or something?" The thought that you may be potential rescuers does not cross the waforged's mind. When you go to get it out of the pit it laughs and looks at the chain keeping them all together.
"Actually we're here looking for a boy, but we can help you all while we're here." Elero smiles down at them. "There's no reason for anyone to be tied up in a pit." He'll look back at the party and add quietly, "I mean, I'm assuming," and shrug.
"Centurion, if you can hold the rope, I'll see if I can go down there and free them."
Centurion can absolutely hold the rope while you descend into the pit. The warforged are perplexed by your apparent kindness, and as you unchain them all they all scatter into Old Sharn as well. The one who spoke to you stays behind and kneels over the beheaded warforged, muttering what seems like an apology. "Sorry we couldn't take you with us, my friend." She then turns to Elero. "Thank you so much for the assist. My name is Felt, if there is anything you want or need please come find me, i'm well known in the Cogs." She turns to leave.
Erix will walk to the shed to get the kid out of there.

Erix looks at the boy
"Don't worry, we will get you out of here. Are you Caden?"
After which he looks at the others, and calls out
"Can one of you open these manacles? Or does one of the dead goblins have a key on them?"

The boy didn’t say a thing. Just continues to look at you absently
"Good luck to you, Felt," Elero says, watching all of the amazing constructs leave. Then he'll climb out of the pit and go heed Erix's call.
"I can try, or perhaps our rogue can." He'll give the light to the frightened boy.
“Well, I’ll be damned straight to Aunty’s trench.” Kit says as the constructs scatter off.
He follows the others and offers the boy some fresh water. “We’ll get you outta here…soon too, I’m not so keen on this Daask business.”
I've had notifications on, but haven't gotten any for this thread since last Thursday.
