The dwarf responds. “My names Snagger, I’m from Sharn, like you. If you wanted to just let me out I’d be fine with that. The Derro is Buppido, he seems fairly well adjusted for one of the mad dwarves. The Quaggoth, on the other hand, is a complete nut bag. The Deep Gnome is Jimjar, he’s alright, maybe a little bit cagey; but I guess so am I. No one’s been able to talk to the Mycanoid properly, so we’ve just been calling him Stool.” You see the mushroom person, who makes a little squeaking sound and turns to you, at least you think that’s what it’s doing. “Now are you gonna let me out? I get leaving Buppido and the Quaggoth in here but Jimjar’s ok, and Stool‘s basically a walking free meal. I’ll warn ya, I’m not talking about Anric until you get me out.”
They seem in fairly good health, it’s hard to tell not knowing what some of these species are supposed to look like.
You would have heard of these sentient mushrooms called Mycanoids before. You need to inhale their spores and then you sort of become a part of their neural network. You need to be careful though, some of the aggressive ones then try to take over your actions.
Mark will look at his two older friends and then at the rest of the group, "I don't want anyone to control me. I am not a fan of the mushroom, but that is just me."
Zoveldra looks to the others calmly. "I can communicate with it telepathically without breathing the spores. Perhaps Mark will feel more comfortable after I check its temperament." She reaches out to Stool using Mind Link and Mind Link Response, her blue eyes glowing more brightly.
"Hello, Stool. Why are you trapped here? Would you like our help to leave?"
"Hello friend! Are you hear to eat me or take me home?" The Myconid talks to you in an incredibly pleasant yet somewhat strange tone. You get the feeling it would be ok with either outcome.
Zoveldra tilts her head slightly at the creature's willingness to be eaten. "Um...The second one, if you can promise not to try controlling us with your spores. How did you end up here?"
Stool responds, "The magical orc with the eye on his spear found me as I was on a walk, he probably was going to eat me. But then I spoke to him and he got surprised, and he grabbed me and started using me to talk to other Underdark folk. So now whenever the orcs can't understand someone, they pull me out and use me as kind of a negotiator." Again, the myconid doesn't seem perturbed by it's existence; it delivers this information willingly and without any negative emotions.
Zoveldra reports what the myconid has said to the others. "It seems honest. If it wanted to control other beings, wouldn't it have done that to the other prisoners already?"
"Sounds correct. Alright, let's open the doors." Addressing the motley crew in the dungeon, "We may need your assistance with our quest. And at the least, we cannot have you telling the kobolds about us. You agree?
The dwarf responds. “My names Snagger, I’m from Sharn, like you. If you wanted to just let me out I’d be fine with that. The Derro is Buppido, he seems fairly well adjusted for one of the mad dwarves. The Quaggoth, on the other hand, is a complete nut bag. Eric was opening the door and wouldnt stop anyone from getting out of the cell.
He is also willing to get the spores to commincate with the mycanoid; very intruiged by its existence.

Snagger smiles as you open the door, but his face quickly turns back to a serious frown, "Well that got us out of the cell, but how the hell do you all plan to get out of Velkynvelve?"
Snagger nods with a savage grin on his face, "Oh yeah. We can fight." He then quickly glances at Stool, "Apart from Stool of course, someone's going to need to look after Stool."
The old Derro has grabbed the Orc's javelins, shifting backward and forth on his feet. Snagger nods at the thought of a fight, he and Jimjar grab the Orc's axes and armor while he explains. "Anric was in here for a little while, nice kid, definitely didn't deserve what's happened to him. Unfortunately, it seems they took him to 'The City' once they confirmed his Dragonmark. I don't know what 'The City' is, but from the way the Orcs talk about it I know it's a special place, and that it's further down into Khyber proper. You see, this outpost, Velkynvelve, is an ancient Dhakaani fortress converted recently by the Orcs. It stood as a bastion against the monstrosities of Khyber in days of old. The Orcs have allied with something down there, and supply whoever runs 'The City' with fresh Dragonmarked members. I think a member of whatever group the Orcs are allied with is currently meeting with their leader, Ogurkek Bloodfeaster." Snagger looks away as he explains and he stands with his back to you, "Anything else you want to know? Or should we get to fighting?"

"There's nothing wrong with mushrooms" LANDMOP says to the group, having fungus growing in their chassis

LANDMOP will relay this to the rest of the group. (LANDMOP doesn't breath, can they even communicate?)

"Sounds good to me," Elero says.

"We promise we will get you out of here one way or other" LANDMOP says in eerie sincerity
"can you all fight? We may need to cut our way out"
Snagger nods with a savage grin on his face, "Oh yeah. We can fight." He then quickly glances at Stool, "Apart from Stool of course, someone's going to need to look after Stool."
Yes, we can fight and we don’t plan on staying. And what about Anric?” Dealuri is baffled by Stool and confused by the various dwarfs.
