A number of weeks have passed since the incident of the train, and Sharn moves forward almost like nothing happened. Some of of you had to debrief to the Sharn Watch a little more, but no one asked any extra questions, especially not anything more about any ancient r magical runes.
You find yourselves all together in a room for the first time since, all having a drink at The Drunken Dragon, a popular tavern in Upper Dura with modest food yet many exotic drinks.
Feel free to share as much or as little as you’ve been up to in the last couple weeks.
As kit comes to the end of a long winded tale he says “…anyway, moral of the story is, Mark I’m sorry about the couch, I’ll get it professionally cleaned ASAP.”
The shifter leans back on his seat, checking over his shoulder before slyly taking a swig from a flask filled with booze brought from home.
"Wow, that's quite a tale," Elero says. "I don't know if mine's as entertaining, but I'll throw it out there anyway.
"I work in a shop, making and mending gadgets for a gnome named Yosgrim, and he's in a bit of trouble now, and could use our help. He was working one day when a robed man came in asking for a contract to have first dibs on any tools Yosgrim finds 'dangerous'. He agreed, and since then, different shady characters have come in every few months to collect whatever tools Yosgrim sold them. But Yosgrim started to get concerned about what they might be using those tools for, so he tried to back out of the deal, so they got angry with him, and the last buyer, Thorn, was very hostile and threatened to tell his boss that Yosgrim is pulling out of the deal.
"My boss is pretty scared, and said he'd be very grateful to anyone who could help him out of this bad deal. So I said I'd do it, but," Elero shrugs, "well, there seem to be a lot of them, and I could use some help, if any of you are interested."
Mark unbuttons his shirt's top button and loosens his tie, "I expect that you will get my couch cleaned quick cause my kitty is not a fan of the smell, and neither am I." He then turns to Elero, "As for the job, what is your boss willing to do for us to make it worth our wild? Don't forget I have a job to do here."
“It’s not my fault your Kitty doesn’t like me or my earthy scent, I forgot how to speak cat when this happened to me.” Kit points at his scrappy shifter self. “Enough of that, sounds like we can earn a bit of coin with Elero’s lead. So we go and bully a robed man and some shady characters. Sounds fun. After we’re done we can have a drink at real bar I know of in the lower parts of the city. You can meet Kliz, Garra’s replacement in Daask. If it’s worth anything I think the big boss of Daask is called Cavellah.
"Good to know," Elero replies. "Those folks may be able to shed some light on what Thorn and his kind are after. Thorn is a shifter, too, for what that's worth."
He turns to Mark. "I'm sure there'll be some sort of payment involved, and it might end up being some useful gadgets and gizmos. If these criminals are going to these lengths to get them, they're probably pretty handy tools."
As you all discuss your next moves, a man walks into the bar and looks around. Seeing you, he rushes over and hands you a letter, “From a mutual friend of you all.” He drops the letter on the table and walks out.
The letter reads, “Friends, I have the possibility of more work for the Watch. We’re in a pretty sticky situation and have the need of outside contractors. If you’re interested, come meet me at The King of Fire, a gambling bar down in Middle Dura. If you don’t make it in the next couple hours, I’ll assume the answer is no. Your friend, Vilroy.”
Erix listens to the others and agrees to help Elero, of course.
"I have had some good training with Chumulk here" he says scratching the worg behind the ear. "Other than that, I did indeed acquire myself a bag of tricks so if we needs a distraction, or possible help with a fight I can get out an animal from it. In order to get it I had to deliver a letter to the Boromar clan with information from the changeling community, without them knowing it came from them, that was apparently interesting to them. I, however, didn't dare to read the letter before delivery so can't tell you what it said."

Kit looks at Chumulk with a nervous smile. “Isn’t Vilroy a little pushy with that time limit?” He says outta the corner of his mouth.
”it’s in my opinion that the Watch are scum, but it might be worth staying in their good side. In saying that, I’d rather not be seen with them too much. It’s bad for my reputation.”
Kit takes another swig before letting out a burp and a purr. He scratches the ginger fur of his belly popping beneath his leathers.
“So we start with a bit of gambling, deliver a letter, bully some bullies and we’re done. Too easy.”
Mark nods to the line of conversations, he also wonders how recognizable they all are since the messenger had no issue in finding them.
"I would be interested in seeing what this gambling thing is all about but if push comes to shove I am more interested in the shop owner. I don't like the little guys getting pushed around and if we happen to retrieve some cool new toys," Mark begins to smile, "so be it."
Elero takes in all of the conversation, amazed at how complicated his life's become over the past month. "Well, I'm partial to helping out Yosgrim, since he got me started as an artificer, and I do agree that being too closely associated with Vilroy might lead to trouble, but it might also be the case that Vilroy's need can be handled quickly, and we can get back to Yosgrim
"An ineresting sidenote: Thorn, the creature who was threatening Yosgrim, was a changeling."
Erix agrees with going to the casino to see what Vilroy wants, although he understands that they need to be cautious with Vilroy, after all the info they got before.

It’s pretty normal for people to walk around with pets. Worg’s are a bit less common, but because they are commonly found with goblinoids, it’s not incredibly unusual to see them.
You all head to The King of Fire in Middle Dura, you hear the sound of the establishment long before you walk in. People are yelling at each other and taking bets and arguing over contestants. You realise that the Race of Eight Winds is coming up in a few days, so gambling halls like this one are abuzz with energy. You look around and see Vilroy at the bar on the other side of the tavern. She hasn’t noticed you yet and is looking at her drink intently. Are you going to go straight over and talk to her?
Kits eyes widen in light of all the delightful hoots and hollers in this hall of chance. He notices Vilroy. “I’m gonna keep my distance. I’m trying to not be seen too much with the watch. Bad for my reputation. I’m gonna go flop a coin or something. I’ll keep close though.” And with that Kit slinks off into the tavern, showing interest in the games being played. Kit is trying to blend in with the usual punters.
