Well then Reidnul shrugs, "Sorry Mark, you know how it is in the bank. We get a very specific limited budget, the rest goes back into stocks and assets. 2500 is all I can offer, if it's any consolotion I won't need you to track Zaerun, just find out what he's up to."
Charismatic as he is, Kit’s more adept at intimidation when the context suits. And in this context he’s delighted in the amount of coin. (But just as delighted at Mark’s attempted cunning.) “No worries Mr Mark’s Boss, we accept your offer, in exchange for discreet information acquisition.”
Indeed, as you head from Upper Central to Upper Menthis, you get a message from Yosgrim using the medal Sending Stones . "Elero! Please come! Thorn has come back. He's trashed the place, taken a bunch of stuff. I couldn't stop him."
You arrive at Solutions as the sun begins to go down, just after you receive the message from Yosgrim. As you do you, you see Thorn and a group of gnolls walking away some distance from the shop cackling to themselves. You see inside the shop and Yosgrim is on the floor, seemingly pretty beat up. He has a shocked expression on his face and the shop is a mess.
Will you all be following Thorn and his gnoll cronies? Or will you go in and check on Yosgrim?
Elero will race to Yosgrim, and if he's hurt, he'll pull off a patch from his Robe of Useful Items to produce a potion of healing and administer it to Yosgrim. Once the master seems able to speak, he'll ask what happened.
If the others want to follow Thorn, Elero will tell them he'll catch up as soon as he's sure Yosgrim's ok.
Mark and whoever follows him - Thorn and his gnoll accomplices are walking through the streets of Central Menthis fairly conspicuously. If you wanted to roll a Stealth check to follow them undercover that would be fine.
Elero and whoever goes with him - Yosgrim will look up at you after the healing, "Elero... my friend. You must get after Thorn, they took a few things but none of it will be useful to them I don't think. Once they realise this they'll be back, angrier than ever i'm sure. Here take this, I don't think i'll need it anymore." He gives you the other half of the medal Sending Stones . "Go now, find out where Thorn is coming from, and stop him from coming back... whatever it takes." He stays on the floor, his wounds healed, but shaken entirely from the incident.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Elero will nod, too upset for words, and leave the store to catch up with the others, angrier than he's ever been at those who hurt his mentor. He'll struggle to keep from just racing up and attacking them, and will try to be as stealthy as possible.
You all silently track Thron and his men as they make their way down the Menthis Plateau by lift and stair. After a few hours, you go past the Middle and Lower districts and into The Cogs. Streams of lava flow through here, and many forges and manufactories litter this incredibly hot district. The main species living in The Cogs are Warforged who can handle the high temperatures.
After yet another hour of walking, Thorn and his gnoll compatriots finally get to their destination within Khyber's Gate, a maze of tunnels and tenements carved into the stone of thid subterranean underworld city. This place is a hint at what Sharn is built upon, layers and layers of older cities now fallen into dust. The Sharn Watch has no presence in Khyber's Gate, Daask rules here, and the evidence is clear. Goblinoids and Monstrocities litter the tightly packed streets, and civilians tend to stay within their houses, scared to walk freely.
Thorn eventually leads you to an old large black building in the centre of Khyber's Gate, set apart from the apartments, and he heads inside. The building is large and imposing, strange in this ramshackle shanty town. Written in graffiti on the front of the building is the visage of an obsidian tower.
With Thorn now inside the building, tracking him is going to be much harder, additionally, a few bugbears stand guard out the front and occasionally patrol the perimeter. What's your plan now?
Elero will help if nobody else does, though his preferred act would be to try and determine what this place is, or what the drawing of the tower signifies.

If there is nothing else, Reidnul will nod and smile at you all as you leave the bank. Is the plan now to go directly to Yosgrim in Upper Menthis?
If we get the signal from him that his bullies are in then we go to him.
Sorry I thought you were going to ask him for a tool to help spy on Zaerun.
Right, we need to go back and see if Yosgrim has a gadget we can use to spy on Zaerun.
Yeah, I was going to kill two birds with one visit! but lets go!

Mark will pop on his hood and put on a mask as he prepares to follow these people.
Elero will relay the message with urgency, and reply, "We're on our way! Hang in there!" as he races to Yosgrim's shop.

Kit gets that prowly look in his eyes.

Mark will look around the building, casing it for openings that we can access. He would hope to get some help from his party members.
