And the sword hacks into Bartram's back, a look of surprise on his face as he drops to the ground... dead.
You hear the sound of the lift coming back up to your level, probably arriving in a few minutes. Behind Bartram is the secret Daask hideout, this room reeks of urine and body odour. The floor is covered in empty liquor bottles, food waste, and old copies of the 'Sharn Inquisitive'. In the corner of the room you see a large square object covered in a blanket.
If you wanted to, you could explore the room, or you could just wait for the lift to arrive.
While the party's checking the room, Elero will grab the dead enemy's shillelagh and begin fishing some loose metal out of the pockets of his duster as he approaches the lift shaft. He'll set the shillelagh on the ground in front of the elevator and use one Magical Tinkering to imbue it so that, if someone touches it, it emits a loud, continuous shriek, and he'll pile the loose metal on the floor next to the club, arranging it as neatly as he can, and use a second Magical Tinkering on it, creating a static visual effect that floats in the air above the metal, text in Common that reads "Quick, grab the club!"
Then he'll head back into the apartment, stepping over the worgs and Bertram, and join the rest of the party.
Mark - You first of all see that there is a door on the east side of the room, leading to what is presumably a bedroom. You hear sobbing sounds coming from within. Additionally, you hear whimpering coming from the square object with the blanket on top.
"God what an awful smell let's get out of here quickly."

"Does anyone need healing?" Elero will ask as he enters the room. "I have a feeling another fight's coming our way, so give a shout now if you need me to heal you."
After the vines recede, Kit cooly brushes himself off and walks into the hideout. He picks up a copy of the 'Sharn Inquisitive' and holds it up to Mark. "Good to read on the loo" he says quietly before Mark opens the door.
You open the door, a groaning halfling is tied to a wood chair in the center of this interrogation room, his shirt stained with blood and sweat, and his head covered in a canvas bag. Between the sobbing he squeals. "No more! Please no more Bartram... i'll tell you everything! What do you want to know you sick bastard?"
The halfling looks up at you. Battered and bruised, you can still tell he's quite handsome through it all. "You took him out? As in he's gone? That's incredible news! My name's Corrin, get me out of this chair would ya?" He talks fast, even for a halfling.
"Come on, help the man out of that chair. He clearly was captured."
and helps the halfling out of the chair.
"The name is Erix, good to meet you. Why where you captured?"

Corrin thanks you for letting him out. “Honestly I have no idea why they jumped me. Must have thought I looked I knew some stuff or something.” He smiles at you all. “I better get out of here before someone else comes back. I didn’t like the vibe of that harpy Myshra.”
Kit’s astonished that Corrin has offered no compensation for the rescue. Is he not deeply grateful?

kit eyes the halfling and twirling a whisker, wondering if he’s been tortured all that bad.
The Halfling assures you again that he doesn’t know why he was captured. But you can tell now that he’s lying. He does have some information that Daask wanted to know.
His wounds seem legitimate though, he has really been tortured.

He will then walk to the door and crack it open with his bow at the ready, and look inside.
