While you know that Zaerun operated out of the temple you visited in Kyber's Gate. You also know from previous investigations and information from the bank, that Khyber's Gate also houses most of the other Daask members. The tavern Shamukaar is known to house many Droaam refugees, and is possibly a hotspot for Daask activity.
Could kit go have a drink at the daask bar at the Anvil? Not intending to try and get on the goblin team, from memory last time kit was there he didn’t win them over offering his services so this time he is just gonna drink and listen, see if he picks up or hears anything.
perception: 20 listening/looking for suspicious things
Con sav: 9 to see how kit handles the booze
Intimidation 13: if anyone tries to disturb kit while he drink he hisses hauntingly at them
Mark will relay this information to the group, "What do y'all think of getting into plain clothes and hanging out at the Shamukaar? I will buy the drinks, and we can maybe play some cards as we scout out the place."
Mark notices that Kit is heading to the other Daask hangout. "Hold on to this sending stone and call us if you are in trouble."
People stay far away from Kit as he get's progressively more drunk and aggressive. He does remember a few snippets of relevant conversation when he wakes. Things like "I haven't seen Kilk around in a few days." and a reply, "Yeah I think he's off working for Ash. She's got some job she's running, probably a bit of money in it for little Kilk."
As for the rest of you, again you make your way through The Cogs to Kyber's Gate. When you arrive at the tavern Shamukaar, you see what could must have been an ancient Dhaakani manor, with bronze statues of old goblin nobles out the front. Ostentatious and grand amongst the general squaller of Khyber's gate. Out the front of the only entrance you see are two hulking minotaur, arms crossed and looking very mean.
Mark would try to just walk in with confidence, I have the street urchin background and maybe that will help him know how to look like one of the right crowd.
Roll a Performance check with advantage for me please Mark, because of your Urchin background. If you roll high enough you might exude enough charisma to escort the others in too.
Erix joins Mark and Elero, he has Chumulk with him of course.

The Minotaur's cross their greataxes in front of you as you go to walk in. "Where you going human? You sure you're in the right place?" They don't seem very interested in letting you in.
Quinn will look up to them with disinterest and say, "Let me through, I got business with a tankard of ale in there and you don't want to mess with me and my friend's business."

The minotaur's frown for a moment. Then they laugh, "Unless you got some business here you better run along. Maybe that kind of talk works in the upper city but here in Khyber's Gate you gotta tough, and we mean real tough." That last sentence is said with not a small amount of menace.
Elero sighs. "Come on, guys," he says, loud enough for the minotaurs to hear, "I guess we'll just have to tell Garra we couldn't get the job done because the oafs at the door wouldn't let us in." He'll glance at the bouncers. "I'm sure she'll understand."
Mark will want to stop by Silvergate look for this https://www.dndbeyond.com/magic-items/4678-marvelous-pigments. but it is too expensive with there money given to them for the job then he will want to close up the Zaerun case first.
Can Mark make an investigation to see if there is another place to learn more about Zaerun with the help of his team?

Elero will cross his arms and try to scowl, and be as intimidating as he can, while inwardly fearing he's going to die.

Mark will begin to reach for his crossbow but hears his companion and begins to walk.
The Minotaurs look at each other at the mention of Garra. Roll a Persuasion check for me Elero.
