Elero will stumble into the room and then try to move to the side, staying out of melee range of the cultists and also looking for something he can use for the Catapult spell in future rounds. As his action he'll fire his crossbow at the nearest one. The Protector will follow him.
The crossbow bolt misses. Elero will see a few pieces of rubble around the place, it seems a fight happened in this room recently. And yes Mark can get a sneak attack.

Nope, you get sneak attack under a few set of circumstances, one of which is advantage. Although it doesn’t matter too much seeing as how that bolt takes one of the cultists in the neck and drops him immidiately. The cultists all freak out at the badger in their midst and all take slices with their scimitars at it:
Cultist 1 Scimitar against Dire Badger Attack: 15 Damage: 7 Slashing
Cultist 2 Scimitar against Dire Badger Attack: 10 Damage: 7 Slashing
Cultist 3 Scimitar against Dire Badger Attack: 9 Damage: 6 Slashing
You all are up. The four cultists are attacking the Dire Badger Erix through into their midst.
Mark pulls another bolt from his hidden quiver loads into his crossbow and takes another killing blow. He will then move into a spot where he can hide and cover as a B/A

Since they're occupied for the moment, Elero will fire his crossbow at the cultist Mark just hit, if that cultist isn't dead yet. Otherwise he'll pick a fresh one.
Crossbow shot: 19 to hit and 6 damage
If the Protector bot can get within ten feet of the badger without getting into melee range of a cultist, he'll send it4 temporary HP. If not, it'll stay back near the party and take no action.
Kit and Erix also throw some cantrips at the cultists. Eric’s Thorn Whip misses, while Kits Eldritch Blast hits one cultist, not felling her but seriously injuring (rolled in game log). Marks bolt catches another in the neck, killing him outright.
The last remaining cultists look at each other and nod, taking the disengage action and running for the ballroom door.
You all are up, the last two cultists are running for the ballroom, assuredly to regroup with their leader Ash.

Mark will take a deep breath after killing two people outright and he rationalizes that this is necessary to save the lives of others. He quickly reloads his crossbow and takes advantage of the beast distracting them to attack them. He is aiming at the cultist who got hit with the devilish blast.
Elero and Mark drop the final two cultists just as they reach the door to the ballroom. Although that fight did make a little noise, it’s hard to know if Ash and the rest of her crew heard you.
For now you’re in the Smoking Room just east of the ballroom, you know that Ash has Caden Orien in there captive. Are you going to make any more preparations before entering?
(I think having a land beast and a dire badger are enough preparations for Erix^^)
