"If I can get to him, I should be able to Heal him, but the rest of you will have to cover me to make sure I don't get slaughtered. On a side note, look at this cool rock I found!" Threl holds up a rock, then looks around at the rest of the party, who presumably are either looking very perplexed or very annoyed, and puts the rock down "Right. Well, let's go!" He makes movement to follow after Olan

Give me the formation with which you approach, this is where the gnolls are at. They're gonna get a few rounds of movement before you can get in there.

“Wait. We don’t know the enemy numbers, the ogre-like gnolls are sure be far stronger than the regular numbers and considering the one with the crown is capable to lead the others he may just be the strongest of them all. There’s no way in the Hells we can guarantee cover against all that.” He said as the other two elves started to move, knowing full well that so much as suggesting abandoning the monk was not an option.“Before they went scouting you offered a charm to hide from all but the most mystical of beings. You should use that on Olan, have him approach in stealth and feed a healing potion to Nodjeim.” The rogue was by far the most discreet of them, and didn’t need to worry about a curse of laughter. “Ruthmum can increase one’s speed, we can create a distraction from a safe distance and everyone should be able to retreat.”
The question was where. The chance of them being forced to retreat in different directions was not zero.
“We can use the camping site from last night as a reference point – if possible, we regroup there. Otherwise, we follow from there in a specific direction. Preferably the one of the closest road.” That way, sooner or later, they would be together again. “We can make a proper plan of attack then.”
"Anything to increase my stealth is welcome, and if there's a healing potion that's definitely a better plan. The speed boost is probably best for the distraction team."
"I can help with distractions, but this little blessing should make you able to pass unseen" Threl says, giving a blessing of Invisibility.
He then offers the following plan for the distraction team: They approach from the north, along the raised pathway to the west, and fire arrows (and magic chickens), drawing the attention of the gnolls away from Nodjeim in the south. Not a particularly deep plan, but nevertheless one that most likely will fool the gnolls, considering their lack of tactical intellect.

As they talked strategy and the astonishment subsided, Veldruk found himself surprised by Threl’s reaction. So fast, intense, full of emotion. It was like the bard genuinely cared by the monk and felt compelled to help beyond reason or prudence. That was not the Way of Lolth. Neither was leaving the female form. An impressive actor or someone that left the Underdark by will?
“I second your plan for distraction.” The warlock spoke certain that was their best option. “I’m able to evoke darkness everywhere fifteen feet around any given point. Before we start the assault I intend to take position so everyone stands outside of the area of effect. Jump inside after taking your shot.”On his experience that should be as good as three-quarter cover. Better yet against targeting spells, provided no enemy caster had eyes like his. “I can see through the magic, tell of any opening to strike again. You can take the cue and jump outside to attack.”
The obscured area should be enough to catch anyone’s attention during the day. Buy all the time necessary for Olan and Nodjeim to scape. More than one or two will reach their next base, thought the drow confirming himself that the group would need to reach a garrison to deal with all the enemies.
Evelyn keeps to the back of the procession. She casts mage armor to help protect herself, although she still intends to stay in cover as much as she can.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Threl nods, thinking it a solid plan, and claps Veldrukon the shoulder good-naturedly.
Leading the way, Threl moves forward stealthily. As they walked, both Veldruk and Evelyn, and especially Veldruk, seeing as the other drow was taking note of Threl's behavior, notice that he seems more confident, and definitely more impassioned. More decisive too.
(Approaching from the South is not feasible unless you want to take a long time finding a path around, atm you guys camped in the North and don't have an easy way in otherwise.)
(I apologize, I thought I specified, it looks like I forgot to, or maybe was working off of an earlier statement buried somewhere in the forums)
OOC: well, it was me that made the mistake. In the original plan, we approached from the north, as I said in post #569. I forgot this in my last post, so shame on me. But yeah, we would actually definitely be approaching from the north, along the raised path in the north-western portion of the map.

OOC: The person with the potions gave some to Olan, right? The moment the others start the distraction attack, Veldruk will run 16ft in front of everyone and cast Darkness.
Threl hands Olanthe Mister, which contains a healing potion.
Once everyone is in position, Threl will conjure his magic chicken and send it forth towards the gnolls, then retreat into the darkness, letting the cool feel of shadow enclose around him. For good measure, he drops Prone

(The mister is still broken, but you can just hold on to one of the potions and deliver it orally as an action.)
As the group approaches, two gnolls climb up to Nodjeim's body and drag it over the side of the hill, tossing it into the arms of one of the giant gnolls. Olan approaches, invisible. Rolling stealth for him, he gets a 17 on the dice, and is able to approach Nodjeim and the giant gnoll carrying him just as the distraction begins.
Rolling stealth for everyone's approach, except for Evelyn and Ruthmum since they're in the backline... everyone passes!
Suddenly, a bubble of darkness erupts from the air as Veldruk rushes in, sliding down the side of the hill in a cloud of dust which is swiftly swallowed by the shadow, backed up Chakka. Threl says in the middle, with Evelyn and Ruthmum taking the back.
Surprise round! Everyone gets to take a turn! ****emup!

Ruthmum's vulture companion swoops down toward one of the giant gnolls at the edge of the darkness, and attempt to grab it in its claws. Through a pair of spectacularly bad rolls, it somehow manages to grab hold of the giant and begins lifting it 5 feet into the air.
Meanwhile, Chakka almost instantly kills one gnoll, rolling max damage with two hits of his chatkcha, whirling with psychic energy.
Ruthmum raises a hand, and green vines sprout from the ground, partially intersecting with the darkness. The gnoll in combat with the thri-kreen is restrained as vines wrap around its wrists and ankles.
Everyone save for Nodjeim is up!
