It's Asher that ultimately triggers the monster, his boot catching loose earth with his step. It causes enough of a stir that the monster beneath cannot help but react! The wicked monstrosity bursts from the ground, a nauseous array of razor claws, gnashing fangs, guillotine-like mandibles and an otherworldly squeal!
Noxious acids drip from its maw as it turns to face the Dragonborn that alerted it, an insatiable hunger draws it to his reptilian flesh!
Quartz, sensing the visible creature may be just one among many, hopes to avoid a fight if attrition. Able to speak to animals and plants (firbolg trait), he attempts to speak to the massive arthropod, hopedully conveying the point that the party are merely passing theough and it woukd be in everyone's best interest if we left one another alone.
Interested to see if the strange chitinously barbed creature reacts more on the attack or on Quartz's attempt at communication, Korbiña points a finger at the creature, her eyes flaring a bright pink as she sees it react with the help of a [True Strike] spell...
Korbiña stands between Lelantus and Asher, but not forming a line, so bit off to the left...
Stealth: 7
...and in case Survival helps with this: 24
Not sure why it says that the dice rolls were manipulated, I did not do anything...
Just now also wanted to mention that the tremor, that Korbiña set earlier lasts for a minute so might still apply in case of tremor sense...
[How else do you think you're getting so close?]
[Another 12 hours and I'll roll for them both. Enough stalling.]
((I wasn't sure... because you didn't mention it... sorry 😅))
