Hearing all the discussions going on, Vex woudl lean towards investigating the possible threat in town first over anything outside of town. Removing rot in the heart of a town is much more important than any rot from without, especially any rot that is not necessarily beating down the "town walls" at the moment.
Vex looks at the group of ruffians and shrugs his shoulders then whispers to Dorah in draconic, "Protect yourself if need be." Then he moves a little bit away from the group bringing up his hand-crossbow to fire. Out of the corner of his eye he sees Dorah's head snake forward and breathe on his bolt as he fires, electricity crackling along the length of his bolt. Vex will attack whomever it was that spoke first, assuming that was the leader of this little band.
Hand-crossbow Attack: To Hit 24 Damage: 5 Piercing 6 (lightning - Infused Strike) Total: 11
Bonus action: Telling Dorah to flee if threatened and then Dorah using her reaction to Infused Strike my bolt.

Normally, Daewen would pick on someone her own size...but, looking at the image, none of them are her own size. So, she picks on the next best thing. The meanest, ugliest, most gnarly one.

The ruffians spring into action, each wielding two shortswords. The lead ruffian already down and bleeding out, the second in front yells out, "Hey, yous don't mess with the Redbrand Ruffians, cause we means business, and yous leaving town IS our business, either we run yous out, or we burry yous. So let's do some business." You can tell that he was not prepared to speak as you have dispatched the mouthpiece of their group, but he looks confident that he hit all the points necessary to convey his message.

Daewen is shocked when the ruffian that she just attacked suddenly flies back like he was hit with a bolt of lightning out of the blue, slamming it against the nearby wall. Staring is disbelief as the body or R4 crumples to almost nothingness, she startles herself back to reality, quickly turns and addresses R2 (the one who just gave his nearly incoherent monologue)-
