Portia takes some time looking at the trap, checking how the pit works in case they need to avoid it on a hasty retreat. On top of this, she likes looking at the mechanisms for her own interest. She won't hold the party up though, and continues through, checking the guard post for any loot that might be left behind
Glynt will quietly say back to Xanth "Kind of you to offer my friend but I can heal myself and others if need be, as canRagdorandErky,so you orPortianeed something in case you get separated from the party or the rest of us go down to the likes of Dragon Breath or the like."
The Kobolds left a two-foot-wide plank to cross the pit.
The abandoned guardroom is dirty, smelly, and littered with small bones and other debris. PORTIA will conclude that there is nothing of value in this area.
In addition to hearing Goblins, at least three of them on the other side of the door, RAGDOR will not detect a trap.
make sure I make eye contact with everyone in the party and give them the thumbs up and point at the door...when everyone is ready I'll throw open the door in hopes of catching them by surprise, and cast Word of Radiance on them. DC 12 con save. 6, 4 and 6 pts of damage

(No Surprise. The party is not particularly stealthy. For what is worth, the Goblins needed a 12 in the rolls above to essentially hear something, chain mail rattling, rummaging, checking for traps etc.)
RAGDOR throws open the door. (@Ragdor, you are not compelled to use the Surprise Round spell, since there was no surprise.)
And you thought the smell in the guardroom area was bad. The stench, garbage, and carrion here are evidence of years of use by unsanitary tenants. Tattered hides stretched on frames form six unstable hammocks around a much-used firepit. Battered cooking equipment is mixed indiscriminately with broken or worn arms and armor.
Four Goblins look toward the door.
ROLL FOR INITIATIVE
(The rolls from the previous post will be the Goblin's initiative rolls to simulate that some of the Goblins were more alert than others.)
ERKY Initiative 9
(In addition to your Initiative rolls, go ahead with first round actions. Map updated,)
XANTH rushes in and attacks the first GOBLIN. Killing it. He then turns and swoops the butt of his Glaive against the fourth GOBLIN, hitting its head, crushing it skull, and killing it too.
Bones follows XANTH and strikes the second GOBLIN. (He is not dead, Jim.)
PORTIA moves to the door and takes aim at the third GOBLINwith her Crossbow but was unable to get a clean shot and misses.
RAGDOR moves in and utters a divine word. Radiant energy erupts toward the two remaining GOBLINs. (I think you only need to roll Damage once with this Spell, and that is the Damage that each of your targets take. So, I will use your first roll of 5.)
(Let’s see what this does. I will do another post after this to complete the Round.)

The third GOBLIN is affected by RAGDOR's divine radiance, but the second one resisted it.
The Second GOBLIN attacks Bones with its Scimitar. ATT 11 DMG 5
It then nimbly escapes and heads toward the door, opening it, and fleeing into the column filled grand hallway. (Goblins have an ability to take a Bonus action to take either a Disengage or Hide action. It is taking the Disengage action as its Bonus action.)
With the fourth GOBLIN down, GLYNT moves to take aim at the third one. He hits it and along with RAGDOR'sDivine Radiance, kills it.
ERKY moves into the room, but at this point does not see a target.
ROUND TWO
XANTH is up next. There is one fleeing GOBLIN remaining. Let's see what you do.
XANTHand Bones chases after the fleeing GOBLIN. And just before it is able to open the door into another room. XANTH catches up to the small humanoid. XANTH swings his glaive but it catches the column and misses, unfortunately, the butt end catches the column as well and it too misses.
However, BONES pursues the GOBLIN and strikes. (Its dead Jim)

After joining more my signature got out of hand so I am now a proud member of the extended signature club!! :)
Glynt will quietly say back to Xanth "Kind of you to offer my friend but I can heal myself and others if need be, as can Ragdor and Erky, so you or Portia need something in case you get separated from the party or the rest of us go down to the likes of Dragon Breath or the like."
I'll listen at the door, percep roll 18+4=22

Xanth readies himself by the door. Looks back to make sure everyone is ready. Then opens the door.
I'll hold up 3 fingers to the party and point at the door...
Glynt waits ready with bow in hand.
