Amiz' first attack misses Chop and he laughs, "Puny Leonin, you must be related to that brute Jagar! When Lord g'Ruek hears of their betrayel he will destroy The Eaters for good" Just as he's about to smash Amiz, the Leonin roars and lunges back with lightning speed. Burying his axe in Chop's chest. With a look of utter surprise, the giant Bugbear falls to the ground dead. The Goblin Scout's eyes widen in surprise.

 Draíocht and Thelanis are still up. The Goblin is behind the Spike Growth still but has just seen his boss felled by Amiz.

With Chop dead, Draíocht now sees the spike growth is more of an obstacle to the party getting at the remaining goblin than a boon. He drops concentration and charges forward toward the goblin, loosing another tavern knife.

To-Hit: 4+5 = 9
Damage: 3+3 = 6 piercing

Move: 35ft towards goblin, I'm guessing that's now ~10ft away from the goblin, hence no more disadvantage for long-range.

Absolutely right, but the knife misses.

Thelanis is still up. The Goblin Scout stands about 45 ft away with a shocked look on its face facing you all down.

Thelanis blasts the goblin. AC 16, 12 damage

And the goblin goes down, blown away by Thelanis' Eldritch Blast. The sounds of battle subsides as Chop and his goblins are all taken care of. Dedear reminds you, "The rest of the dwarves are in the tunnel going down, in 'The Pit'. The tunnel leading up heads up to 'Chop's Shop'."

Amiz is covered in his own blood, and he has a ragged breath as he approaches Draiocht "I am need of healing. I am going to need a bushel of those berries"

He sheaths his axe and has his hand clamped on the wound stemming the flow of blood.

Draíocht hands over some berries to Amiz. He looks to the others, "If you want any, just let me know."

"Might be useful if there's a map up here." he says between berries. "And then I suppose we'll get the other dwarves out of their sticky situation."

Amiz takes the 20 berries and immediately pops them into his mouth. The wounds quickly close, and he sighs with relief "Thank you Draiocht and I am fine with that plan, Lets head up to Chop's shop" 

Once everyone is ready, he will take the path that leads up. 

Thelanis is ready, and takes 3 goodberries because why not.

You all head to the tunnel leading up, Dedear looks worriedly to the passage down he knows leads to his compatriots. The tunnel opens up to a strange living quarters, a makeshift bed lies in the middle of the room, with cupboards and clothes thrown all around the place. A few bunks are in the far corner, made up for goblins it seems. And against the far wall, taking up almost a third of this large room, is a rickety, bloody, deadly looking machine. With scythes and pulleys and spikes, it seems to be some kind of torture machine. In the machine, strung up and bleeding, is a human sized creature with large legs and skinny arms, spikes all over its body, and an enormous eye taking up most of its face.

As you enter the room, the creature speaks to you, without the use of it's mouth into your minds. "Humanoids? Did I hear correctly? Have you killed my jailor? Have you come to free me?" The voice in your mind cackles as it speaks, half mad it seems.

Do I have any idea what this is? Arcana? Nature?

Draíocht fights a look of disgust upon seeing the creature, so twisted from what you'd expect to see. "What did this to you?" he asks.

 Valar could use some berries

Amiz is used to strange looks, but this creature seems to be some sentient abomination. He asks the creature "Who are you and what are you?" 

If anyone else trained in Arcana wants to reroll you may. Otherwise the creature responds to Draíocht and Amiz in it's cackling voice, "The bugbear Chop has ruined my body. The idiot thought to torture me for information on my homeland, Kholias. I believe your people call me Nothic, but when others of my kind refer to me they call me Stranger. Or at least I think that is what it would translate to." He laughs unnervingly, "And what do I call you? My saviours." 

To the others, Thelanis says "If its from Kholias, I want nothing to do with it. If we want to release it from torture, I vote to end its suffering forever."

Draíocht hesitates as Thelanis mentions outright killing the creature, though he notes she has a point. But still he says, "Be best to stay our blades for now I think. As of now, we've but come across a goblin's prisoner." He turns to the nothic, "I am Draíocht, Stranger. Kholias, you say? Were you there when Ish Alora crashed into it?" He looks at the creature's wounds, wondering if the physical ones are curable and also if there's a possibility this creature was once something else.
