You open the door into a 20 by 30 foot room. There are no creatures present. Two stone pillars with a 10-foot-wide arch between them support the 20-foot-high ceiling. Near the base of each pillar are the skeletal remains of two humanoids.
Pisgah moves over to the door leading north out of the room and listens with the ear horn. Perception roll of 15. He will report what he hears to the group and then examine the skeleton nearest the door. Investigation roll of 4.
Pisgah hears the characteristically pitched voices of goblins from behind the door, talking loudly to each other in their language. By the sounds of it, they're moving away from you. You hear a door slam.
The skeleton looks fairly typical, dusty and long forgotten. It still wears the rotting remains of an undershirt.. Any potential valuables like jewelry or weapons have probably been removed long ago.
Pisgah tells the rest of the group about the goblins moving away and a slamming door. While the group searches the room and the statue, I'll crack open the door and take a peek through to what is beyond.

Probably is not certainly. Nikkitch checks anyway.
The only thing Nikkitch could think of salvaging here are the bones and the teeth. In fact, it seems like this skeleton, albeit humanoid, has a pair of prominent tusks.
Pisgah hears the goblins more clearly. They're probably still some distance away from the door you're listening from, but they're somewhere close. They seem to be loudly singing something repetitive, but you can't quite make it out.
Pisgah tells the group about the goblins and them being further away and asks if anyone thinks it worth checking some of these odd dead ends before going further.
Jaya will point out that the Wand of Secrets is pointing at the arch.
Jaya says “Perhaps someone with good investigation skills should look more closely at this arch? I will show you exactly where it pointed, thereby help-ing you with your search!"
Jaya then adds, "Good Idea looking for secret doors Pisgah!"
Nikkitch notices an almost imperceptible warping of the air. No, it's an absence of structure. You have hear of these before - an area of wild magic. The weave itself is unstable here. This isn't a hidden portal, but it may be the remains of one. What is left is highly volatile. Any number of things could happen if a creature were to pass through the arch.
A long hallway going northward opens up before you. It continues on into the darkness for as far as you can see. There are two corridors branching off into an eastward direction. From the closer one, Pisgah heards the goblin chanting. It's now audible and goes: “Nimraith! Nimraith! Nimraith!”
Nearly at the same time, you hear a gruff command being given and the goblins stop their chanting. The hallway is now only filled with expectant silence. Pisgah is sure that he and his companions were not loud enough to be heard over that distance (especially with the goblin chanting), but it can't have been a coincidence.

Rico comments to herself, "One must wonder what the designer had in mind for all these strangely shaped rooms."

Beyond is a short corridor section, ending in another door. Whoever built this place?

Pisgah asks "Could we be missing hidden doors at some of these dead ends? It seems odd that this place would be built like a maze."
Pisgah will listen at the next door for the goblins. PERCEPTION 12

Jaya will stand in the doorway of this room and expend one charge of Wand of Secrets.
At this point, Nikk is a tad more worried about being recognized than he is eager to find more spells.
Regardless, he readies his own wand, for whatever may be ahead he'll certainly need it.
Jaya, the wand pulses and moves uncertainly for a while, finally settling on the archway in the middle of the room.
Jaya will point out that the Wand of Secrets is pointing at the arch.
Jaya says “Perhaps someone with good investigation skills should look more closely at this arch? I will show you exactly where it pointed, thereby help-ing you with your search!"

Nikkitch, snapping away from his inherent anxiety, takes a closer look at the indicated arch.
[Investigation w/ Advantage: 21]
Nikkitch notices an almost imperceptible warping of the air. No, it's an absence of structure. You have hear of these before - an area of wild magic. The weave itself is unstable here. This isn't a hidden portal, but it may be the remains of one. What is left is highly volatile. Any number of things could happen if a creature were to pass through the arch.
He relays as much to the rest, and though he'd love to reopen it, sample whatever treasures might be inside, he has no clue how to do so effectively.
[Bad Arcana roll, not worth attempting.]
Hearing Nikk's warning, Pisgah will go ahead and open the door.
