"Thanks!" says the elf smiling with his natural enthusiasm.
He then sits and tell the others what he has learned about the villagers trying to track the wolves.
"We should ask them for more clues, and while it's easy to assume that the wolves will follow that... thing... let's keep an eye open for its tracks going in another direction from the wolves... "
( Should Dar get the short rest at the end or no? ;) I have his CS as if he hasn't )
(Yeah, he's only a few minutes behind them. It depended on whether he did something else or not during that time.)
The group rests up as it starts getting to the early hours of the morning. Jess and Merrybelle return to the house, Jess asking the group to open up for her.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Kithre wakes up just long enough to see that she's safe with the others. With that settled, she flops back onto her back and continues her rest, letting her body recover.
When everyone has rested, Johann looks at the group and asks, “So what’s the plan? Are we tracking them down or setting a trap for tomorrow night? Does anyone have a good idea?”
(thanks for saying that dm)
”We should decide on our course of action before getting some rest, because I am quite exhausted.”
The other option is to take a few more hours in the room to have a long rest. Effectively you left The Seven Saints HQ nearly 24 hours ago, and haven't slept in that time (being knocked out doesn't count as sleep).
"Hmm we should take a rest and try to locate that creature in the morning. I need less rest than you all, I could wake up early and go looking for the villagers that tried to track the wolves down so once you wake up we can go directly to the woods. That sounds good to you? "
Merrybelle makes some gestures with her hands, and Jess translates for those who don't understand or have magical translations active. "Merry says you're welcome to stay here. We don't have much beyond what's available here, but spare blankets for all I guess. I'll be going over when it's light to see what's happened in the rest of the town. Feel free to get some shut-eye."
Merrybelle puts a sympathetic hand on Jess' hip, then makes a couple more swift gestures. "Yes, I suppose we're lucky they didn't take any livestock today." She looks to the party. "Thank you for repelling them from our animals."
The group may spend the next few hours getting some sleep (or trance if you're that way inclined). Jess returns a couple of minutes later with some thick blankets so the group can get a little more comfortable, as Merrybelle retires to upstairs.
(You may all benefit from a long rest. I have applied it to your character sheets for you.)
The group awakens to see a strong light beam through the crack in the wooden shutters on the windows. Getting prepared for the day, the group dons their adventuring equipment again and gets ready to go out to investigate. As they finish getting ready, they notice that Merrybelle is in the kitchen, the room next door, and is currently preparing some food, some basic porridge with wild berries, as well as seven bowls. She gestures for the group to enter the kitchen, though it is a little small for everyone at once.
Kithre stretches her arms over her head and smiles as the sunlight filters through the cracks. With her gear donned and her wounds healed, she gleefully enters the kitchen, not upset by the tight fit.
"Good mornin'! Thanks very much for the blankets and bedding last night. Made recovery all the easier." she says with a smile to Merrybelle.
The porridge is a little bland compared to the fantastic (and cheap) meals found back at the guildhall of The Seven Saints. However, with the couple of jars of preserves they can be added to add a bit of flavour. While still a little underwhelming, it has a nice family touch to it. Merrybelle smiles as they tuck into the food, almost like a mother doting over her children.
Johann glances around after eating with Kithre and asks her, “Are the others still asleep? It’s going to be a busy day, should we wake them do you think?”
Merrybelle attempts to sign something to the group, but they appear to not be able to understand her gestures. They are ready to head out after some basic breakfast at the farmstead.
(Wanna head into town? The others can "catch up" when they "wake up".)
Headed into town, the sun is shining overhead with its summer brilliance. The town appears to be slowly going through their day, some of the people repairing broken fences and other parts of exterior features. There are hundreds of pawprints on the dirt track through Verdegreen, and a group of villagers grouped up outside of the village hall; the building the fur-covered creature was standing atop last night.
Johann hails the group of villagers in front of the hall. “Hello, we are the adventurers sent to help with this wolf problem. We were just wondering if we could ask some questions about it. There seem to be quite a few more wolves than expected. Have their numbers grown?”
"also " adds Dar when they had answered " We've heard that some of you tried to track them down. Can you lead us to those who did it? any information we could muster before going after them could be invaluable..."

Merrybelle nods, then gestures to the table. There are halfling-sized chairs with a little step to raise up to the human-sized table.
With another broad grin, Kithre climbs up and tucks into the breakfast with the gusto of one that had been staring down death only hours earlier.
Johann comes into the room and sits by Kithre to dig into breakfast. For such a thin man he eats quite a bit.
