Raul readjusts himself after the squishing and his green color is ever so slightly tinged with pink.
"While rewards for our work are surely a sign of good comeuppance I am most rightly pleased that familial duty and heritage stand at the forefront of this quest. A most noble air to a most noble endeavor. I need not your charity but shall certainly not cost you your face and shall accept thy pittance with the good heart in which it is offered. I daresay no questions tarry my mind and am excited to embark posthaste!"
Kerowyn pulls an old map from behind the counter and lays it out. She points out the village of Oakhurst and the Sunless Citadel, roughly 7 miles away. As the sun sets outside, she recommends waiting until daylight to travel. From time to time, cattle and people who have gone out alone at night have been found dead the next day, bearing dozens of needle-like wounds. No one has seen the creatures that cause this mayhem, nor do they leave a discernible trail. Because of this, cattle herders don't graze their stock too far afield these days. They're frightened by stories of new monsters that maraud by night.
Exteri again feels his human body begin the sweat - this time with something that feels like fear. The danger of this adventure is now real to him as listens to Kerowyn's words and looks at the ragged map.
He draws a breath and draws his courage together at the same time.
"Thank you Madam Hucrele. We'll stay at the Ol' Boar Inn overnight and then leave at first light. Seven miles isn't far, considering how far we've all come."
Amnezia nods in agreement with Exteri's suggestion to head to the inn for food, drink, and rest. "Indeed, tomorrow will be a long day," he concurs, his voice tinged with anticipation.
Pondering for a moment and for the first time that he might die… Burntends turns to the others “You will love the Ol’Boar! They have this ale… it turns you into a great dancer AND is also a love potion. Maybe my girl will be there. She probably wants to see me before I go off in this deadly adventure.
Then quietly as they walk to the inn.
“Sylar - Do ya know anything about deadly needles? Do you ya think it could be a crazed quilter? Or by the gods… The Crazed Crocheter.”
With a determined push, Amnezia swings open the door of Hucreles Provisions, his eyes set on the path leading to the Ol' Boar. Before he departs, he turns back, a hint of reassurance in his voice as he declares, "We will come back soon."
Sylar chuckles warmly in amusement at Burntends remarks.
"You seem like a good soul, don't worry about deadly needles I'm sure we'll be fine and I think I'll stick to water if it's safe to drink round here. There's enough out there that'll try to poison me without me giving them a head start by poisoning myself."
Burntends will drink 3 ales and stare into the fireplace in his room waiting for his love to appear...
As he is drifting off to sleep he sees a faint smile appear in the fire and he wakes the next morning cuddling Raul having dreamt of his fiery beauty through the night.
Sylar speaks to the staff and locals to gain as much information as possible about town and the surrounding area (insert dialogue/interactions here), any local rumours etc. as well as chatting with his companions to get to know them on a personal level (Sylar is now familiar with his companions), he eats and heads to his room (assuming we've actually got rooms) early ready for the morning.
Amnezia settles into a cozy corner of the inn, the warmth of the hearth casting a comforting glow as he takes a seat at a nearby table.
He orders a hearty meal of roasted chicken and potatoes, accompanied by a glass of the finest local white wine. Savoring every bite, he indulges in a whole pie for dessert, followed by a sip of rich liquor to complete the meal.
With his hunger satisfied, Amnezia moves to the fireplace, feeling the gentle heat against his skin as he carefully tends to his rusty chainmail armor, applying oil to preserve its strength and durability.
As he prepares to retire for the night, Amnezia stops by the innkeeper and requests that his dinner tab be added to Madame Hucreles' account.
With thoughts of the journey ahead weighing on his mind, Amnezia makes his way to his room, closing the door behind him. He think about the trials to come and the he fall asleep.
Exteri will nurse a single ale and eat a simple meal, wary of his human physiology.
He will ask the innkeeper (or any locals if the innkeeper is unavailable) if they know anyone who ate the magical fruit and what happened to them. He was planning to ask Kerowyn Hucrele, but her grief was a raw, palpable thing and he thought it best to exit the shop sooner rather than later.
As the group arrives at the inn, they quietly spread out, and choose their own spots and meals. Maybe they seek a moment of self reflection before embarking on potentially life-threatening missing.
Sylar seems interested in conversation. Dorgarag eats with him and tells a bit of his personal history, growing up in a nomadic orc tribe, his mother ostensibly a slave to his father. He tells of leaving his tribe while quite young and finding some comfort in the library of the Church of Deneir in Procampur. He asks Sylar about his background.
After the meal, he excuses himself and heads to bed.
Sylar: After an evening of carousing and conversation, most of what you hear is a repeat of what you've already learned from the blacksmith and Kerowyn. Garon, the barkeep, does give you some new information. He tells you of the last time anyone, aside from Talgen and Sharwyn, asked questions about the Sunless Citadel. About thirteen years ago, a grim human named Belak stopped by, and he had a very large pet frog. He never returned to town after leaving for the Citadel.
Amnezia: The innkeeper nods at you and takes out a log book to log your meal into her tab. After hearing the party discuss the Sunless Citadel all night, he's put together why you're all here. He doesn't think she'll balk at this charge if it means getting her children back.
Exteri: Engaging the locals in conversation about the fruit reveals that most of the time the magic fruit is bought by the Hucreles, and then resold to out of town merchants for a higher price. But a few of them have tales of people being cured of various diseases and ailments. Some even mention a second fruit. Sometimes the goblins offer a different apple at midwinter, a fruit that's corpse-white and poisonous, even to the touch. No one has ever bought the white fruit.
Does anyone have any other questions before the morning comes?

With a surge of excitement, Amnezia quickly readjusts his heavy helmet, the weight of it settling comfortably on his head once more.
Turning to the lady with determination, he announces, "I'm ready to take direction of the citadel as soon as possible".
Exteri stays silent, uncertain of how any more words thrown at this woman will be percieved, given her obvious grief.

Sylar: You know of many creatures that kill in such a way, but you don't currently have enough information to draw any conclusions.

When Hucrele explains her children's motivation, Dorgarag nods.
"Curiosity and the search for knowledge are noble things. We will do our best."
He listens intently at the discussion of the dead found with needle like wounds.
"Only at night?" he asks. "And does it seem they die from poison or from the wounds themselves?"
He readies to follow the others.

Kerowyn turns and answers Dorgarag questions. “Yes, only at night. And they die of their many wounds, we’ve seen no sign of poison.”
