Burntends grabs breakfast and prepares his spells for the day. He leaves a letter for his parents with instructions to the innkeeper to mail it if he does not return in 30 days.
Sylar spends the morning studying his spell book and relaxing ready for the journey ahead, he only goes down for breakfast at the last minute to quickly grab something before they head off giving his Raven instructions to scout ahead and return to him periodically as always
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Exeri feels his mortality keenly after the conversation with Kerowyn yesterday afternoon, and hearing the villagers joke over their cups in the evening. He will commit a great deal of his magical energy to weave an armor woven of shadow under his clothes, wincing in distaste as his hands touch the shadow stuff.
He waits outside the inn for the last of his companions to finish their preparations, softly singing a mournful ballad from ages past as the feeble grey of pre-dawn turns into true first light.
Sylar stands listening patiently and quietly, songs like this don't usually move him but for some reason this song seems to resonate with his soul and deep sadness flows through his body focusing his mind on the task ahead.
Raul applies his morning lotion to keep his jelly body glistening in radiance (mage armor). Hearing the draconic keening, Raul feels a kinship as he feels like a dragon that has lost his way in his worst moments. But when he hears his cousin join in, Raul’s good humor returns.
”A dragon is a dragon after all” he says to himself in the mirror. And lovingly packs his bongos. Just in case.
Dorgarag packs up his things and heads down for breakfast.
Now aware that Madame Hucrele's tab is an option, he orders double breakfast. He feels a mild sense of shame and embarrassment, believing he could be signaling his poor background to the others by taking advantage, but it's not enough to stop him.
As he hears the singing and sees the others exit one by one, he heads out to hear the rest of the song.
He finds the performance very moving. He is keenly aware that he is carrying everything he owns, that no one is waiting for his return, that he could die in the days ahead, surrounded by these strangers, and that he doesn't have any alternative that seems better than taking this risk. He thinks about how much 250 gold pieces would mean to him and how Madame Hucrele can afford to buy the potential deaths of himself and these five others, whom he may now need to depend on.
Impatience seizes Amnezia as he urges the group forward, reminding them of the riches awaiting them. "We've got gold to claim! No time to waste, let's move!"
With Exteri's song in your hearts, you check the map and head in the direction of the Sunless Citadel. The day is warm and sunny and the overgrown Old Road winds through rocky downs, near stands of old-growth oak, and past abandoned farms. A cool wind blows through the rocks and trees, keeping the day from getting too hot.
You're about halfway there when you come across the body of cow lying in the center of the path. What do you want to do?
Sylars raven has been scouting ahead and would have reported this well before they go to to it and anything else it may have seen in the vicinity. Is there anything else of note other than the cow the raven may have seen?
Burntends: The body is covered in thick needle holes, but you find no needles. Your close examination of the cow reveals the holes are in groups of four and some of the holes have tiny slivers of wood in them. You step back and wait to see if anyone else wants to examine the corpse before it's barbecue time.
Dorgarag: After Burntends points out the pattern of holes to you, you do notice a loose pattern to the needle holes. While none of the groups of punctures look exactly the same, they do seem connected. Looking over the cow more, it does look like there are enough needle holes to kill the beast.
The sun rises the next day and you all prepare yourselves for the journey. Describe any preparations you make before you leave the village.

With the morning light filtering through the window, Amnezia awakens, wasting no time in preparing for the day ahead.
After a swift cleaning, he grabs some coffee and cakes for a quick breakfast.
Donning his armor, he stands ready for the journey to the citadel, his determination clear in every step he takes.

[Performance check - 21 He sings in Draconic]
Everyone else describe your reaction to the soulful ballad you hear as you exit the inn (after preparations, of course).

Burntends would join in as he also knows draconic.

Amidst the melody, Amnezia's bulky helmet muffles the sound, leaving him unable to fully grasp the song's nuances.
Undeterred, his stoic demeanor remains steadfastly focused on the mission at hand, unwavering in his dedication to its success.

Burntends would do a medicine check to analyze the body.
21 Medicine
And once everyone else is done examining it he would burn the corpse with firebolts.

just did a D20 - don't know what +/- it would get

Are the four holes in the same pattern in each instance, as if they are protruding from something they are all attached to?
And the cow seems to have enough holes in it that it could have bled to death?
