The five of you descend the knotted rope, using the wall of the cliff to brace yourselves. The rope ends about 50 feet down at a ledge.

The sandy ledge overlooks a subterranean gulf of darkness to the west. The ledge is wide but rough. Sand, rocky debris, and the bones of small animals cover it. A roughhewn stairwell zigs and zags down the side of the ledge, descending into darkness.

Dorgarag looks over the stairs.

"Should I throw a torch over the edge?" he asks the group.  "Or should we just start walking down?"

Burtends peers down the stairs making a perception check looking for evidence of the passing of the party they were sent to retrieve or of danger ahead.

Then says “Perhaps one of us with darkvision should lead the way?”

Perception 24 

Amnezia ignites his bullseye lantern, casting a beam of light into the darkness as he takes the lead at the front of the group. 

With each step, he scans the surroundings, keenly searching for any lurking shadows or hidden threats in the dimly lit expanse. 

Perception : 7

As Dorgarag looks over the ledge into the darkness and Amnezia lights his lantern, Burntends notices movement on the ledge. Hiding among the rubble he sees 3 Giant Rats, waiting to ambush you when you approach the stairs leading down.

Everyone roll initiative.

"Argh!" Exteri cries in fear.

He steadies himself and attempts to regain his composure.

"I mean - good spot Burntends."

Initiative 10

As you prepare yourself for the coming fight with the rats, you all hear someone coming down the knotted rope. You look up to see....

Let me just say that my turn will be to cast Create Bonfire on whichever rat is furthest from me when my turn starts.

And I will concentrate on it to keep it on that space  DC 13 Dex save for whichever rat friend that turns out to be

"Look out below!!!" A young lad dressed in clear tribal attire is on his way down the rope. He looks like a halfling, or maybe just a human child? It is unclear, but he introduces himself gracefully. 

"Hello, travelers! I am Lumos. It is nice to meet you. I'd say more, but it seems we aren't alone!"

Burntends will look up as what he assumes is Sylar comes down the rope.. 

The rats hiss at you, death in their beady black eyes.

The firebolt singes the angry rat. Now it's their turn.

Giant Rat 1 scurries forward and tries to bite Exteri.

The Rat hits Exteri!

Giant Rat 2 attacks Amnezia with its jagged teeth.

Bite vs Amnezia (Advantage due to Pack Tactics): 24

Damage: 6

The Giant Rat does Critical damage to Amnezia!

Giant Rat 3 attacks its nearest food source, Dorgarag.

Bite vs Dorgarag: 9

Damage: 6

Dorgarag avoids the biting teeth of the Giant Rat.

 Amnezia Attacks the Giants Rats at front oh him :

You slash at the Giant Rat in front of you but hit nothing but air. You skillfully continue your swing's momentum and catch the rat in the face with the back end of your halberd.
