<same, kind of waiting to see what to do based on that>
Interesting. Outcomes aren't secret. He's either in the maw, underground and out if sight, or not. I don't track player hp, so not sure where his would be.
Yeah, I'm an idiot lol. I was thinking he would still be visible if he wasn't swallowed so I could try to attack the tentacle that has him instead of one of the ropers but I think he would have been underground either way. I'll target whichever Roper looks to be damaged more between them. I think one just got one of their tentacles cut off right?
This is the confusion and i cant reaolve it without knowing the outcome, but if he isnt bitten, he isnt swallowed nor is he pulled underground, but he woukd be grappled by the roper still.
As you battle the ropers, you notice the limbs youve hacked away rapidly feoing baxk. They have taken damage, but only from the atracks that targeted them. The eldritch blasts left their mark, but the tentacles seem to grow out of the creature, one symbiotic within another.
(They do pass on the fear trait, but they do not pass on reductions in hp, the MM'24 is explcit on the latter point. Whike on the ceiling you need at least 30ft of range to attack them, unkess you let them reel you closer to them first, which they can do at a rate if 30ft per round. They can actually grapple 2 creatures, reel them both 30ft and bite them both in one round if the targets are dirwctly beneath them or if the climb don a bit along one of the pillars or a wall to reduce the distance.)
Sparhawk smashes his way theough one of the tentacles with a cmean strike, but the weird u dulations of the stretched tentacle make it hard to hit jt square and the ither strike bounces off the thick muscular cord of slimy poisonous biomass.
<@Shimshon123: So, who did he free?>
<i dont know if he got swallowed. I haven't seen the save... @Brian_Avery can you roll Str save to see if Kos is swallowed whole by the cthonic maw, please?>
<Guys I'm losing track of eceryone. Can you please inducate we hrn you post where you are, like grappled, eaten, etc.>
<can i ask you guys what youre doing here? Like if i called this a fire and you spent 4 rounds fighting the fire, that would make more sense than what is actually happening here. Are you planning to eat the monsters or something?>
(ooc: Kos rolled the STR save in post #2844... I think he failed.)

Kos. You're inside the maw. You'r blinded and restrained. What do you do?
Seeing Kos get swallowed and the Maw disappear under the ground, Tenebril quickly focuses on the closest roper and tries to nail it with all 3 beams from his Eldritch Blast.
The hobgoblin narrowed his focus, accepting that his warhammer could not reach the beast at this distance. Instead, he raised his hand with deliberate precision, channeling the power that answered his will. Two beams of crackling force tore free, the cavern echoing with their release. The first veered wide, wasted against stone. The second struck true, slamming into the roper’s hardened hide and drawing a grunt of satisfaction from him as the blast seared into its body.
He did not flinch or retreat. Warhammer still at the ready, he stood firm, projecting the certainty of a soldier who would not yield ground. The plan was clear—he would draw the monster’s attention, keep its wrath fixed on him, and hold it steady while the others found a way to free Kos from the maw’s gut and the earth itself. If the beast wanted a foe to break, he would be that foe.
DM Notes
Action: Casts Eldritch Blast (2 beams at current level).
Beam 1: Attack roll = 14 → Miss.
Beam 2: Attack roll = 18 → Damage: 3 force damage.
Tactical Intent: Character deliberately seeks to hold the creature’s aggression, keeping himself positioned as the focus while his allies coordinate Kos’s rescue.
(ooc: question?... can Kos use Gaseous Form to escape?)

Tenebril hirs the roper thrice, but it manages to evade Gharzun's blasts.
Kos: The crushing dark inside the Maw isn’t a gullet—it’s a grinding chamber of slick, flexing plates, the air thick with acid fumes. You hear, more than feel, your own heartbeat drumming through the stone-flesh.
Your form softens, every bone and muscle dissolving into cool, drifting mist. The acidic slurry below rolls harmlessly through you as you begin to seep upward, following the faint vibrations of movement above.
On the surface, the Maw’s three graspers writhe—two pinning your companions, the third tasting the damp cave air like a serpent’s tongue. Marl grit and fine stone dust rain down from the ceiling with each twitch.
The ground trembles. Somewhere in the depths, the Maw coils its immense body and surges upward. The floor detonates—a ring of marl and shattered rock blasting outward like a fragmentation charge. Razor-sharp shards scream through the pillar forest, slamming into armor, flesh, and stone alike.
In that instant of chaos, your vaporous form slips between the graspers, curling into the open air—still within reach, still in the Maw’s shadow as it towers over the battlefield, but free from its gut.
The tremor doesn’t stop. The Maw tilts its blind head toward you, tasting your presence in the air—not with eyes, but with every quiver of the ground you’ve yet to leave.
Kos and the ones who were grappled (i can uodate this once i check earlier posts) make a Dex save (DC18) for half of 27 bludgeoning damage and prone (gaseous form delivers resistsnce to the damage and immunity ro prone, iirc)

It looks like Kos failed his check and I am assuming is now swallowed. I'll post shortly for Tenebril to target whichever roper looks worse.

(How can we get Kos out?)
Seeing Kos get swallowed and the Maw disappear under the ground, Tenebril quickly focuses on the closest roper and tries to nail it with all 3 beams from his Eldritch Blast.
Eldritch Blast, Beam 1 - Attack 21, Damage: 9
Eldritch Blast, Beam 2 - Attack 23, Damage: 14
Eldritch Blast, Beam 3 - Attack 29, Damage: 14
