Sparhawk is hit hard by the dragon. (OOC: Sparhawk has a 15 foot reach with long limbed and maul: Just checking if dragon can attack him with claw and others, also, declared being behind some rocks, did that give him an ac boost?).
Sparhawk attacks (with advantage) with his huge maul: (misses with the first attack, 22 to hit (15 bludgeoning damage)
<Pending resolution of fear save, after either this or dash:>
Calumnus slashes the bugbear 20 for 13 slashing + 4 acid.
<if we determine it requires him to move to preserve this roll outcome, he can travel up to 20ft as part of this action. Might possibly draw an aoo?>
(Up to you, if Sparhawk is behind partial cover from 15 feet back, using maul, his ac is 21 with no shield).
Unlike the typically stoic Paladin, Sparhawk feels the power of the creature and is caught off guard. (Wisdom save: 12, He drops the maul and runs 20 feet back. (I'm guessing the slash is the AOO, but if we count cover, that one missed him, but fine with whatever you rule.)
<The 13 damage strike would hit but the 24 damage qoukd miss if i call it ¾ cover. With half cover both strikes hit the dragon but it still hits Sparhawk, the sane outcome as no cover. I assume there are difderent size pieces of rubbkr about so you can declare how mich cover if you want to stay behind it moving forward, but for now im just assuming you dont want to not deal 24hp damage to the dragon.>
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Tenebril is unnerved by the darkness gathering towards him but with his Devil's sight, he's able to see through it and see the dragon still below him. He decides that two can play this game of calling forth help from behind their station and using the only Arcanum he currently possesses he spends it to Summon Fiend, willing a Devil to appear beside him.
He immediately directs it to attack the dragon, "Attack that Dragon until I say otherwise."
The Devil Spirit launches three Fiery Strike at the Dragon:
Attack 1: Attack: 30 Damage: 16
Attack 2: Attack: 21 Damage: 16
Attack 3: Attack: 31 Damage: 10 + 16
Tenebril drifts two spaces to his left to keep just a lil distance between him and the Spirit to keep the dragon from using it's breath as he's not sure if it uses a cone or line yet.
"Is the lighting changed, to like dim light or darkness anywhere? I was just typing up Tenebrils next action but this will likely change it."
<sorry, missed this one.>
Lighting. The caverns are unlit. Denizens carry their own light or rely on darkvision to see. Area descriptions assume the characters have a light source or other means of seeing in the dark.
The thing i described was just a totally generic fear spell. But Tenebril is outside the cone, so no save required, just wanted to include him for position.
The summoned devil’s bolt streaks across the chamber, a lance of infernal fire that scorches a line across Calumnus’s flank. The dragon snarls—not in pain, but in fury. His wings snap wide, sending a gust of fetid wind through the ruined sanctum, scattering coins and bone fragments across the floor.
His gaze lifts—not to the devil, but to Tenebril, the fairy warlock hovering above, acid still sizzling across her wings. His pupils narrow to slits of emerald flame.
“You call forth lesser fiends in my domain? Then let them drown in true corruption.” Calumnus rears back, his claws carving a sigil into the air—jagged, ancient, and wrong. The dungeon itself seems to recoil as he speaks the final syllable, and a Vitriolic Sphere erupts from his maw, not launched but exhaled, a globule of pure alchemical hatred. It arcs upward, trailing green fire, and detonates midair—centered on Fakry and the devil.
The explosion is silent for a heartbeat. Then: a scream of dissolving matter. The devil’s hide begins to bubble and slough away, its infernal resilience tested by planar acid.
Tenebril is engulfed in the sphere’s radius, her form briefly silhouetted in viridian flame before the blast fades, leaving her wings tattered and her aura flickering. The acid lingers—this is no clean strike. It clings, eats, remembers.
Calumnus lowers his head, smoke curling from his nostrils. His voice rumbles through the chamber: “Summon again, little spark. I’ll show you what true legacy tastes like.”
Tenebril, devil: make a D DC17 dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 22 acid damage and another 12 acid damage at the end of its next turn. On a successful save, a creature takes half the initial damage and no damage at the end of its next turn.
(Sorry, I didn't look at the material component on the spell before casting it. I forgot that the Rod doesn't cover spell components with a price on it. what's the dex save for the sphere?)
"Well I was going to summon a Fey spirit but didn't think they stood as much of a chance against you as that creature. I'm not sure about the others but I figured using my highest level spell against you showed how serious we had to take you." After that Tenebril will use "One with Shadows" to at will cast Invisibility on himself and then move from his spot to try to avoid getting hit like that again.
The Devil Spirit launches three Fiery Strike at the Dragon:
(OOC: WIth Fear, Does Sparhawk have to keep running away each round until out of sight?...could he do any other actions, such as drink a potion of Heroism?, make a wisdom save?)
<From the text of the spell, drinking a potion is not specifically forbidden, but withdrawing it (havig dropped anything held) requires a move action, of which none are available due to forced use of dash. Imbibing said potion is now a BA. Wis saves are detailed specifically as available only when out of line of sight.>
(interestingly, a potion of heroism, which Sparhawk has, does nothing if under fear, but i suppose if he is out of LOS, it would allow the plus 1d4 to the wisdom save after).
Calamnus takes flight, pouncing upon the devil and slashing both he and Tenebril (up to 40ft each) (2 LA), drawing an ipportune attack from Gharzun, as Sparhawk falls back toward the cavern's entrance.
(Could I have Tenebril drop a Darkness spell on those affected so that they are now out of LOS of the Dragon? Would that work? I have one charge in my Rod of the Pact Keeper +1 that I could use to restore one slot but not sure if I could get the spell off before he's out of the cavern. If he's far enough away that there's now Darkness between him and the dragon, does that still count?)

dex save 15+3 (that uses the last of my dark ones luck.)
<just noticed: did gharzun go in round 2? In either case, players are up>
Is that for Tenebril or the devil? I guess tenebril if it used DOL. Devil still needs one.
Devil Dex save: 21
