Darien sees the flurry of teeth and swords that engulfs Pinja and barely waiting to see how everything unfolds, calls out to his wildfire spirit once more. "Zrava, get her out of there!" The flaming serpent quickly slithers over to the bloodied tiefling, and in another burst of deep-orange wildfire, they both vanish and reappear near Darien. He runs over and his hands are quickly engulfed in a soft, yellow flame as he places them on Pinja's wounds to heal her. "Are you okay? A couple of those bites look pretty serious."

Grikiltha will move in, trying to move between the remaining wererats and the entrance to block any sort of retreat. If any remain after the other two attacks she will strike:
Pinja, bruised and bloodied, delivers a swift headbutt, the force causing the wererat to stagger! Not pausing for a moment, she follows up with a second headbutt, which just barely misses her target! The wererat, now visibly dazed, swayed on its feet... With a final, decisive headbutt, Pinja knocked the wererat out cold, its body collapsing to the ground!
Meanwhile, Darien's wildfire spirit, Zrava, appeared in a burst of flames, teleporting Pinja to safety! The flames left behind a fiery burst... However, the remaining wererat managed to dodge with a quick sidestep!
Drako, seizing the opportunity, took a deep breath and unleashed his lightning breath at the last standing wererat! The wererat managed to avoid the brunt of the attack, though sparks flew and charred the ground around it... The electrical discharge, however, created enough of a distraction!
Grikiltha saw her opening! With the wererat's attention diverted, she moved with deadly efficiency... Her weapon struck true, a critical hit that ended the wererat's life in an instant!

To everyone:
Don-Jon Raskin maintained his composure as he assessed the situation, his eyes scanning the fallen wererats and the adventurers who stood victorious. He approached the group, his expression a mixture of gratitude and determination.
"Well, that was somethin'," he said, his voice steady. "Thank ya for what you've done for me. But I can't leave until I confirm the state of the mines and see if there are any survivors or not."
He paused for a moment, a flicker of hesitance crossing his face before he continued, "I know it ain't part of the original job, but I'd be mighty obliged if y'all could venture inside with me. Whatever you find in there, it's yours to keep. The job was to escort me, not to exterminate rodents. But now that we're here, I could really use your help."
To Pinja:
Don-Jon walks over to Pinja, concern etched on his face. He gives her a once-over, noting the wounds and the signs of fatigue. "How are ya holdin' up, Pinja?" he asks, his tone genuinely concerned. "Gotta say, you’re one sturdy fighter, takin' on three wererats like that. But those bites worry me."
He glances at the bite marks, his brow furrowing. "I've seen a few lycanthropes in my time, and all of 'em can pass on their curse through bites. We need to be careful. Best we get you checked out as soon as possible."
He gives her a reassuring nod, his eyes steady. "You've done a hell of a job so far."
"Let me send Archie in first so we know what we're walking into."
Nigel sits beneath the tree and coos a couple times. Archie Flys into the cave. At that moment Nigels eyes gloss over and he stares off into space while he attuned his senses to the Owls.
Pinja hears Darien yell out and before she knows what's happening, fire engulfs her. Bloodied and feeling like she has to barf, she winces as Darien approaches with his flaming hands. She visibly relaxes upon contact. She takes a big breath and, when he's finished, she pops back to her feet. She smiles showing her fangs. "Thanks for the healing fire....and the uh, rescue." She peers at the flaming serpent out of the corner of her eye. Pinja then turns and takes in the body strewn battlefield solemnly, her eyes almost sad before they turn cold and calculating.
She turns, as Don-Jon speaks. "Little headache but otherwise right as rain. Thanks to this Pyro and his companion," she gives Darien and his snake a friendly smile and nod. "Not to mention the rest of this crew. Seems we pack a punch." Her smile deepens, then slowly fades as Don-Jon mentions how lycanthropes pass on their curse. She looks at the faded bites and frowns and nods. "Being a wererat is definitely not on my bucket list. That being said, this job doesn't seem done to me." She watches as Nigel sends Archie into the tunnel, then she rummages in her backpack and pulls out a belt lined with darts. She cinches it around her waist and attaches a shortsword to it. She pulls the sword out and takes a few practice swings, then starts stretching.
“Of course,” Darien replies. “You would’ve done the same. Agreed to protect each other and all.” He notices her appraising glance at Zrava and gets a mischievous grin for a second. “I’m surprised you didn’t throw up there. Most people do their first time taking a little trip with her.” He lowers his arm and the snake raises its body up to coil around it. The flames have mostly died down to reveal deep red scales that glow like embers.
Darien turns to Don-Jon. “Happy to help search for survivors and ensure the safety of the miners. Hopefully we fare as well in there as we did out here.”
Drako looks on as Nigel sends forth his owl scout. Bahamut, please let this not lead to further 'experimentations.' he thinks to himself.
As Don-Jon speaks of the bite transmitting lycanthropy he tries to comfort Pinja. "That first wererat seemed pleasent, oddly enough. Perhaps we could get information from her on preventing the change. Otherwise I could pray for Bahamut's restoration tomorrow. I don't think it's in our plans for you to be a wererat either." He gives her a jovial wink despite his worries.
He concurs with the others on continuing into the mine. "What should our order be as we head in?"
Archimedes swooped through the tunnel entrance, and the first area he encountered was the guard post, where the two female wererats were keeping watch. The southern door is where Zeleen made her escape through with the other two females.
Guided by your silent instructions, Archimedes flew through the open door, entering a chamber where wooden posts used for shoring up tunnels and caves leaned against the walls. The owl's keen eyes noted the sturdy construction, a testament to the mine's previous occupants.
Continuing on, Archimedes found a door leading west. Flying through the open door, he discovered a storage area. Stacked against the walls were a dozen empty crates and a similar number of empty casks. It was clear that this room had been well-used, but now stood ransacked.
Flying east, Archimedes reached a large open cave. Through your familiar's eyes, you could see that this cave had been repurposed as a den by the wererats. Scattered about were pickaxes, shovels, and other mining tools, evidence of the mine's original purpose now mingled with the makeshift bedding and belongings of the wererats.
At that point, Nigel felt that Archie had reached the limits of the spell to communicate telepathically and sense what Archie sensed.

MINE FEATURES
All tunnels and caverns in the mine are hewn from rock that has thin veins of gold ore running through it. Other common features are described below.
Ceilings. Ceilings throughout are 8 feet high and braced at regular intervals by wooden pilasters and beams.
Doors. All doors are made of wood with iron hinges and handles. The doors are fitted with locks, but none of them are locked. The keys needed to unlock and lock them are gone.
Light. Oil lanterns hang from ceiling hooks in every room and tunnel.
"I'll take the lead." suggests Drako. "My armor and shield should hopefully avoid their bites." He starts by heading to the unopened door in the East of the first chamber by the entrance. "Let's see if there's anything behind this?"
Grikiltha will follow Drako, "Sure, I can do all the heavy lifting for ya." She will help. She doesn't have a ship but she does have a good reach from back here.
Nigel shakes off his trance then rises and follows as well. He has tucked his illuminated feather into the spine of his book so that he can flip pages as needed and still be able to see.
Drako and Grikiltha easily open the doors, their combined strength making quick work of the obstacles. As the group ventures deeper into the mine, they explore the various areas without encountering any issues:
In Area 5, the Storeroom, they find a dozen crates of dry foodstuffs and nine casks of drinking water stacked in the middle of the cave.
Moving on to Area 6, they discover the Sleeping Quarters. This cave contains a dozen wooden cots, each showing signs of recent use.
In Area 7, they come upon the Gold Storage. This cave contains two wheelbarrows and an empty bin. Though the bin is currently empty, it likely once held the precious ore mined from this location.
Within Area 4, which had been used as the wererats' den, the group finds evidence of their stay. Amidst the scattered belongings and makeshift bedding, they uncover two sacks hidden under debris. One sack contains ten fist-sized chunks of gold ore, each worth 10 gp. The other sack holds a collection of 82 silver pieces, 450 copper pieces, and a pair of goggles of night.

You may discuss if you would like to go northeast or southeast of M4.
Northeast you would see a natural stairway leading upwards.
[[ Adding 16 silver, 90 copper to sheet (assuming even split of money). Does someone want to carry the ore for now and we can split up the money for it back in town? ]]
Darien gestures for Don-Jon to follow Nigel with his light, then follows the group with Zrava still draped over his shoulders and arm. Pinja seemed to appreciate the serpent's presence and abilities, but he was still a little wary of the others and what they might think. His affinity for fire hadn't always been so appreciated.
When the group reaches the den area, Darien takes a minute to investigate the bedding with everyone else before approaching the southeast door to examine it and try to find out what lies beyond (perception16 + 3 from Drako's guidance for traps and for any sounds behind the door).
Drako eyes the Goggles of Night and turns to Nigel. "Do you mind if I take these for the moment? Would help with forging ahead without giving away our position via light. Not that my armor is all that stealthy." He waits Darien's results to inform which direction they will go.
[[ Also adding the 16 silver and 90 copper. I assume we'll put the leftover 2sp into the group-pot. ]]
In the haunting silence of the mine, you hear the faintest squeaking of rats moving further away from the other side. When you try to open the door, it doesn't budge an inch. It doesn't appear to be locked, but something is clearly blocking it from the other side.
