With the blast ringing out, Skye feels a surge of tiredness. She isn’t tired but she recognises that her ring will allow her no more true knots in the weave for at least an hour.
She runs for the nearest cover.
She would prefer to stay at range, but she looks for the enemies near the door — are they wearing metal armor?
No metal armour. It is leather. Skye does manage to kill a second creature though. Just one at the door, and one at the back of the room. Seeing two killed so easily, they look ready to run. But Kylaski is up first
You know what, normally I would say that you need an action if the words were accompanying a roll (as the roll is the action more than speaking). But seeing as two of them were just killed (possibly 3 once Kylaski goes), I will take that roll into account.
Realizing that the guy right on top of her was too close for an Eldritch Blast, Kylaski pulled out a dagger and then said, "You're turn."
Sehaethas was not happy about being given control in the middle of a fight, but there wasn't much he could do about it at least she didn't change shape first. Sehaethas groaned with a different voice than Kylaski, as he tried stabbing with the dagger.
Attack 11 for 4 damage
(Kylaski is in charge of magic, Sehaethas is in charge of weapons. Since changing forms takes an action, Kylaski skips that during combat. )
The figure moves just out of the way. At first, you thought it was dodging, but it was actually bending over coincidentally at the same time as Sehaethas was gaining control so the attack was sloppy. Both it, and the one at the back of the room put their weapons on the floor. They realised that they don't have much chance at escape.
((How many are there in the room, now? And the feathery things, are they still free?))
“Drop your weapons, and face the wall. Spread ‘em gentlemen, and no sudden movements. I want you arms wide, palms open, nose against the wall. Like you’re the heroine in the pulp novels you don’t like the other boys to know you read.”
She pauses for a moment, considering what she’s said.
”Unlike your favourite heroine though, be good and we won’t be rough.”
Two living ones, two dead ones. And a dozen more dead none bird people, which now you are not being attacked, you can see there seems to be two groups, some show Zhentarim markings, others show Xanathar. Kenku's are currently free, weapons dropped and upon instructions do move to the wall. They have beaks rather than a nose, so they attempt to get it against the wall but it is a bit awkward.
Damros shifts about until he can dig into his backpack; looking for a well wrapped vial. Once found and set gently on his lap, he takes both hands and firmly jerks out the arrow that stood so proud from his chest. With a gasp and groan, he grabs the vial of red fluid and drinks down the fluid... saving the last few drops... to let them drip into the hole oozing blood.
Moments pass as his breathing becomes less labored and color returns to his face and hands. 'That was too close,' he thought. Finally feeling 'nearly normal', Damros rises; shoulders his pack; and goes about searching the many bodies. (He is hoping to find replacement healing potions or kits -- he will not ignore heavy coin purses though!)
Skye eyes the efforts of the Kenku, impassively, as Damros looks among the dead for clues … in their coin pouches. Hmmm. Hopefully there are clues left in the warehouse office chests, while the others investigate out here, if she can get there and investigate anything locked, first.
For now, however, she has to return her focus to the defeated Kenku.
The Kenku have beaks, Skye nose-tices. Of course they don’t have noses. Who would tell Kenku to put their noses against the wall? Who, indeed. At least they seem thoroughly crowed—Cowed! Thoroughly cowed.
“Fearsome warriors, who serve only coin, on behalf of our master with deep pockets and endless mercenary help… can you tie up our new friends, and pat them down. Not in that order necessarily. Then we ask them some pointed questions and see if they cro— confess.”
She directs this at the other two of their party, waiting for their agreement. Her palms itch while she stares at the Kenku. In a large warehouse like this there must be a lot of things to investigate. She doesn’t want to be the last to look for … evidence.
Xaul nods, fairly stoic and silent throughout the exchange. He pats down the Kenku [Investigation: 19], and removes any objects of them that he finds. He then ties them up [dunno if that'll need a check but Sleight Of Hand: 17 to tie a decent and secure knot if it does], then steps back to let some others do the talking, cracking his knuckles intimidatingly.
Kylaski's form shifts and changes color. The horns and tail get pulled into the body, the hair gets shorter and beard hair grows. The armor doesn't change other than getting tighter where it was loose and loose where it was tight.
In a moment, instead of a tiefling woman, a half elf man stands there. He puts a hand to his face and says quietly, "I keep telling her not to do that when people are around, but does she ever listen? Noooo..."
Sehaethas then starts looking around for some rope, since he doesn't have any in his pack.
Skye nods approvingly at Xual's excellent henching, and his investigatory skills. She watches closesly for any glint of gold or silver. Next time they tie someone up and rob them for clues, she'll be the hench, and Xualcan look menacing.
Damros continues to pat down bodies and look for 'clues'. He looks up and checks on 'the room' to make certain nothing chaotic is going on nor new enemies are in the rafters. After his last 'glance about' he slowly curls behind a broken table top and asks slooooooooowly, "My pardon companions but did we just lose the rather flamboyant and curvy tiefling? And when did we pick up a new stray, elven puppy?"
Damros is about 3 seconds away from instigating some eldritch shenanigans.
Realizing that he needed to say something, the elf reluctantly answered, "Hi, I'm Sehaethas, Kylaski's other half. I made a pack with something beyond the stars. But instead of getting Eldritch power, I got her. She takes over whenever she sees something that interests her, and gives me control to handle the mundane." The exasperation in his voice is evident.
Crates packed with weapons, rations, boots, black uniforms, and other gear fill the warehouse (Sehaethas can find some rope). The bodies don't have any interesting gear on them, gang membership can be seen via tattoos (or in the case of the Xanathar, one has a tatoo, the others just don't have a zhent one, but they are clearly together based on clothing). In total there is 35 shards (sp) and 25 nibs (cp). To the left of the door, at the end of the room is a small storage room, the door slightly off its hinges. To the left of that is also a staircase up to a balcony where you can see doors for a suite of offices.
The kenku are tied up well. They had nothing additional on them (weapons, coins or gear), having dropped their weapons already. One of them had a bow over its back but had dropped the arrows, and the bow can be removed without a fuss from them.
[ I’m assuming the bow is a Shortbow, since Kenku are small]
Xaul takes the bow from the criminal and says ‘Always wanted to try some archery. This’ll do nicely’ He then gives the thread an experimental pluck, the small frame comedically small in his orcish hands.

I think there was one trying to stab Kylaski. Is that one still there right next to her? Or did someone else take care of that one?
That is the one in the doorway. I believe you are also near the door so still in melee

When Skye sees her blow drop one of the enemy instantly, she takes the opportunity to shout,
"Yer wer' WARNED! Throw yourself down or be put down, and we'll use ya' rings to pay for yer burial! This be yer last chance!"
((If talking is a free action. Otherwise, will wait till next round to shout the above. If intimidation is the roll, Skye rolls: 18 on log.))
