Elrik targets the nearby orc that just wasted its energy on Diana's illusion.
Greataxe attack: 8 Damage: 13
"There's a bloody curse on my axe, I say!"Elrik is nearly unhinged with frustrated rage but has the presence of mind not to waste bardic inspiration on this attack.
With the thought of mimissing in front of his comrades he corrects his wild swing back towards his intended target. (using saving face for +5 to the attack roll)
Fargim looses a bolt between two orcs. Diana continues creating illusions, passing words of inspiration to Elrik, whose attack is batted away by its target's greataxe. Hox bounces off of a worg, launching himself dagger-first into an orc rider's heart, rolling with the dead body as he lands back on the ground, then stabs at a nearby worg that lifts its paw just in time to avoid a wound. Volthero corrects an errant swing, but misses an orc's face by an inch.
Roccar, growing weary, has two swings defected by an orc. Thane thrusts forward with both hands, digging his swords into a worg's flesh, and uses the leverage to pull himself up. Balancing on the worg, he swats aside its rider's greataxe, stabs the rider through the throat, then drives his shortsword into the worg's skull, landing in perfect balance on the new corpses. The Reavers finally gain the upper hand on the orcs, thundering into the center of the line. Four orcs and four worgs are slaughtered, and the Reavers burst through the middle of the line, splitting the orcs. The madness of these hardy warriors breaks the orc resolve, and they scatter in all directions. However, without riders to guide them, the remaining worgs are too enthralled by the vicious battle to break away.
The Reavers defend well, taking only a couple of bites from the remaining worgs.
Tracking: Only nine worgs remain from the orc force, engaged in melee with Hox, Volthero, Roccar, Thane, and the Reavers. Elrik is 10 feet away from the nearest worg. Diana is 30 feet away from the worgs. Fargim is 40 feet away from the worgs.

Fargim fires a bolt into a worg's chest, seconds before Diana rushes in, stabbing the same one. Elrik leaps, slamming his greataxe down into the base of a worg's neck. As its attention is drawn, Hox stabs it underneath its chin, up into its jaw, killing it. Volthero hacks into a particularly meaty worg with his own greataxe, giving it a large wound.
Roccar slams his greataxe into a worg. Thane goes after the same worg as Volthero, but he too appears to be growing weary. His attacks seem slower, more sluggish, and the worg is able to avoid Thane's vicious shortswords. The Reavers bring down five of the worgs in a coordinated assault, focusing first on the worgs in the center, leaving three surrounded on the left side of the line, and one surrounded on the right.
One worg is able to bite through a Reaver's armor, but they continue to defend well against the beasts.
Tracking: Four worgs remain. Three worgs are isolated on the left side of the line, with Elrik, Hox, Diana, Roccar, and half of the Reavers. One worg is isolated on the right side of the line, with Volthero, Thane, and half of the Reavers. Fargim is 40 feet away from either worg.
Elrik lands a forceful blow onto a worg's skull as Hox runs underneath, gutting it. It falls dead as Hox continues through the next worg, stabbing a leg for good measure. Diana stabs a worg through the eye, ending its life. On the other side of the line, Volthero swings wildly at the worg near him.
Roccar slams his greataxe into a worg. Thane uses the distraction from Volthero's miss to sidle around the worg and stab it through its head. A Reaver finishes off the final two worgs. Before the Reavers can move against the fleeing orcs, Roccar cries, "Hold! Leave them to carry off their hurt and dead." Thane, however, doesn't receive the message well. Throwing his shortswords to the ground, he pulls his longbow off his back once more and begins rapidly firing arrows toward them. "Thane! Enough!" Thane doesn't let up, emptying his quiver as the worgs ride out of range. All he offers Roccar is a sullen stare.

- Why would we let someone get away from this, Roccar? These bastards should ALL be DEAD!
- But better rest now and continue our chase later. Survivors can lead us to the place where they hold up "Girls"! I'm sure they'll leave a lot of footprints in this panic retreat.
Hox walks over to a shallow part of the river and rolls around in it, washing the blood off. He's still shaking off the adrenaline from the fight and seems a bit a shaky as the blood gets washed off his scales. After he is clean, he'll sit there in his puddle for a few moments before screeching, "WE ALIVE, HOX ALIVE!" and fall back in his puddle, feeling the fatigue finally catch up to him.
"Only the best routs end with a complete defeat. To overcome their larger force shows the strength and discipline of your Reavers Roccar." He gives Roccar and his Reavers a deep nod of respect.
"More battles lie on our Horizon, what do you say we start hunting for one more Thane? We have a fresh trail to one."
Elrik makes a quick search of the battlefield with the hope of finding his errant handaxe. After watching the flight of Thane's final arrows, Elrik says, "Aye, Thane. The only good orc is a dead one." The dwarf then gazes upon the many dead. "But I'd happily trade a few of these dead orcs for the lives of those two girls. If pursuit seems best, I am with you."
Fargim takes a quick few steps forward as if trying to join Thane in shooting down the fleeing orcs, but instead doubles over and empties his guts into the river.
Jarl and Old Poe have calmed the horses, and a short, respectful burial is held for the four fallen Reavers, the large stones on the river becoming an impromptu memorial. Though weary, the Reavers quickly tend to their wounds and are ready to move before an hour has passed.
"I don't need a Reaver for what's to be done!"The silence is broken by Thane's sudden shout at Roccar. The two are involved in a heated discussion. Thane motions to the party, and turns to you, saying, "I need a small band, stealthy. You have more than proven yourselves capable. We will split our force, following their tracks from both sides...The Reavers will hit them hard on one flank, and when their attention is turned, we can sneak in and find the girls."
