Heading towards the elevator shaft, the cart slides down for you two as if on cue. Its grated entrance opens up and a shadow mastiff is already in the elevator waiting. The black hound has wisps of what look to be smoke dissipating off of it. You know all too well it is made of shadow. Its mouth curls inward to which is has no semblance of lips, only teeth. Its many fangs point out in different directions as it gives you a permanent toothy smile. Upon seeing Macario, it whines and nuzzles against his legs. Soon it steps aside as it sits by him. It pants heavily and looks down as if it has been running a marathon.
Suddenly, like a disembodied voice, the elevator itself asks, very chipper,"Where to?!"
@Brodir
You know there is not regular animals here at the moment. Honestly... everything feels so devoid of life. Like real life. The things here are all undead, which your priesthood has thought you about and how to check and identify things like that.
Hissss.
You turn around in this dark black stage. Coming down from the catwalk (aptly named) above the stagefront, comes down a long slithering creature. Its body flops onto the floor with a thump and sizzle. It lifts its head up- no two. The creature's two pairs of eyes set itself on you. Wisps of smoke fizzle out from its body. It is a shadow snake.

"Excellent!~"The elevator singsongs. You start up with a jolt and it pulls up without you even needing to crank the lever. Soon after it ends up being a slow drag up the elevator. You hear a low humming. The cramped 6 by 8 walls fill with smooth jazz. The voice starts singing.
"These things.. been a while." The mastiff huffs and perks its ears up.
"The ride's been tough but we stick on for the long haul." The dog howls. It a high pitched howl that ends in a whimper. "OOOOoooo."
Bells sort of twinkle in the elevator. "He waited and waited. Thousands of years. To this day."
"We were blindsided. Couldn't have caught it before the fall." The elevator phantom finishes out its blues. Ghastly skeletal hands come out up top on the ceiling and pry open the door. As the elevator travels upward, Macario listens to the music with mild interest. He looks up from the shadow mastiff and says, “Argos? You were about to say something about—“. He’s cut off by the “ding” and the doors opening.
He mutters a curse in tabaxi. Of course the bridge would be severed here. The two realms had been overlapping off and on all morning until they finally decided to trap him in a shadow prison with an elf that seemed to be afraid of his own shadow. At the scrabbling sounds below, he mutters another curse, this time in common, too surprised to make the switch to the other language. “Never mind, that’s going to have to wait. Sounds like that mimic survived its fall earlier. I think I can get us across the gap, but not while we’re busy fighting a monster.” He looks directly at the elf. “I need to know that you can handle helping me with this.”

The rope bridge swings lazily in the wind. All around you the air is hot and humid. A contrast from the static snow from outside the lobby. The sly around you, though most is obscured by trees, is greenish and someone forgot to turn the lights on as there is no sun in this area. Its like as if the entire celestial body had just vanished. And nothing replaced it.
The mastiff howls softly as you walk out onto the wooden platform. It wanders off towards the lopsided cart and sniffs it. "grrr." Its tail sticks out. And its ears flatten. 'Hrrw?'Then, in an instant. It seems something else has gotten his attention. It happily trots back over to and rubs against Macario's legs before heading off again. It goes to the other side of the platform.
Around you the platform looks just the same as before. With each footstep the wooden planks creak and whine as if its on its last breath. Below you the mimic's growls get more intense. You figure (if it can can climb) it would only take about 20 minutes before it would get to you. It would have to go up several floors first. And it lacks thumbs so good news!
"Food? Sweet food?" You hear this voice coming from above you. Something flutters and then disappears. "You got any snacks?" Big eyes stare at you from upside on a tree branch. Six wynlings look out towards you. They have the bodies of aye-ayes but the wings of a bat. They open and close their wings as they look expectantly. "Trespassing."

Macario looks from the mimic below to the strange creatures hanging in the branches above him. "Not trespassing! We're just a bit lost and trying to get across this gap." (not sure if it's needed yet but persuasion8?) As he speaks, he shifts closer to Argos by where the elevator entrance had been and says quietly, "If you have any food left on you from breakfast, I'd give it to them. If not, get ready to climb on and hitch a ride."

"you are plainly not a creature of the good noth."
"Not trespassing?" The red one looks over to the orange one. "Not trespassing."In a blip they suddenly disappear out of existence. You don't see them anymore. But yet you hear them giggle. Argos you feel someone pulling at your ears. Something also tugs at your hair. Macario you feel something rummaging through your pockets. A little red head pops out of it. Wide eyes go staring daggers at you. "No snacks!""I heard breakfast." "Breakfast. Breakfast. Breakfast." It is a chorus. The six creatures chirp enthusiastically. Then they dip out of reality. Nowhere to be found.
"Breakfast! Or no crossing!" The blue one shouts suddenly appearing in the ledge of the cut bridge. "Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!" You hear a bunch of shouts but can't locate them anywhere. They seem to be coming every which way.

The double heads hiss. Their constricting body wraps around you but you're relentless. Wrestling with their grasp you manage out. "No!"Left shouts in a big comical 'noooooo'. The shadows around them swirl. They continue to lunge at you. Fangs are a near miss. Their tails trash around creating thumps on the floor. "He promised."
"Promised bait." They say this one without their usual hiss. Suddenly fangs turn to claws as a third head starts budding out in the middle. But it is not a snake one. It is a wolfish muzzle. It roars out. Another head splits out from that one and begins rising from the back of the main body backwards like a zombie from the grave. They split off like amoeba in a matter of seconds. The second lands on the stagefloor on all fours. You instantly recognize them. They are both bargherts. Goblinoids, you know, are their favorite snack. You've never heard of them morphing together, but there's a first for everything you suppose.
Their backs arch as they growl at you. "You're coming with us."

Macario steps back to where he was before, next to Argos about 10 feet from the gap in the bridge to his own room. His hands remain up, but go from a more assertive pose to an accepting one. He looks at the wynling on the severed bridge across from them. "Okay, okay, I understand. I can do games. Do you want to see a magic trick?" He leans slightly towards the elf and whispers, "Hop on, and help me out if you can. Try to keep them back for a second." Even as he finishes talking, his body begins to melt into shadow and smoke, expanding and reforming, until a solid black horse is standing in his place, smoky shadow still curling off of its body.
[[ Just as a note in case this goes a combat direction, mage armor does carry over to wildshapes RAW so Macario's AC in this form would be 13 rather than 10. ]]

Macario looks from the mimic below to the strange creatures hanging in the branches above him. "Not trespassing! We're just a bit lost and trying to get across this gap." (not sure if it's needed yet but persuasion 8?) As he speaks, he shifts closer to Argos by where the elevator entrance had been and says quietly, "If you have any food left on you from breakfast, I'd give it to them. If not, get ready to climb on and hitch a ride."
*izzat dungeon scrawl?*
*yea. i dont like it.*
"you are plainly not a creature of the good noth."

@Macario and Argos
"Not trespassing?" The red one looks over to the orange one. "Not trespassing." In a blip they suddenly disappear out of existence. You don't see them anymore. But yet you hear them giggle. Argos you feel someone pulling at your ears. Something also tugs at your hair. Macario you feel something rummaging through your pockets. A little red head pops out of it. Wide eyes go staring daggers at you. "No snacks!" "I heard breakfast." "Breakfast.
@Brodir
((YEAH! it is dungeon scrawl!!! I use it for my maps and I love it.
Aw dang. Okay sorry about that. I'm a big fan of the fey hehe))

The double heads hiss. Their constricting body wraps around you but you're relentless. Wrestling with their grasp you manage out. "No!" Left shouts in a big comical 'noooooo'.

Argos took a swing at them by instinct since his ears were touched.
"You guys need to learn personal space...."
"Should've guessed the easy solution wouldn't work," Macario says. He touches the small totem hanging around his neck and whispers a word in infernal, igtad, before holding up his hands and shouting to the small creatures. "You must let us pass, or I will use the power of Sesisah to bring down this entire tree! I am her key and this is her prison!" (intimidation? 3 ahaha).
*im using it for a map too*
*its fine, i just prefer the original lore*
"no."

@Argos and Macario
The one who pulled on Agros's ears just giggled as you attempted to swat them away. They fly little circles around you before blipping away.
"Easy way or hard way?" The blue one snorts, "No way!" Their voices sound as if they have been inhaling helium. "Nope! Nah uh. No how!" They see your little charm and hear your words in infernal. The other five surround the blue one and they start to chatter in a huddled circle amongst themselves. Their words are hushed whispers and you can not comprehend it. It sounds likely to be in Sylvan from the mixture of what seems to be infernal words and just start just up gibberish. Orange goes to point at you then looks squishes the group closer together. "BAHAHAHA!"
The red one turns its head to you guys 360. "You can't do that here! No power over us." "yeah. yeah. yeah." "Only a representation of what you want see!" "Hehehe."
"Her guards are hiding. Cowards." The wynlings swarm you two eagerly. "And you're in no control. Both magics. Two gods."
"She left us here." "TO ROT!" "And we won't be taking too kindly with her toys."
Each wynling appears on each of the bridges. Even two more join in on the fun.
"Play our game! Play our game!"
@Brodir
((Ohhh! cool yeah I love dungeon scrawl. it is so easy to use. I've also heard of tableplop which is good for moving around characters but to make the makes I have been using dunegon scrawl. good stuff my man.
Also ohhh I didn't even know of the old lore. literally only just starte playing in March))
The bargherts growl. Their stands up on their backs as they slowly march towards you. "I bet you taste real delicious." The left one licks its licks. "Sure does." The right bares its fangs on full display. "We haven't had this much fun in AGES."
"Yes. A real treat!" Lefty howls. Its tail wags.
"Do you know how long it is? How long- how hard it is to be locked up?"
Righty laughs, "Don't worry. You'll get to."
Left one charges at you with its muzzle. Sharp fangs go sinking deep into your left shoulder blade as it jumps up. Red blood goes gushing out. Pushing itself off your chest it lands back on all fours. It makes another charge. This time swinging with its claws. It misses as you manage to block it.
Righty tucks its tail and turns the corner. It scoffs. It raises one paw up.
"Sssssit down." It commands with a hiss. Its tongue to snake again. "My suggestion demands your attention."
((Your turn! Also do a Wisdom saving throw to not be forced to sit down))

*they used to be regular humanoids.*
