Zubeki has been listening keenly, filing and storing away all the individual facts. Honestly, I'm impressed enough to hire him on the spot today, but we should wisely vet others just in case.He chimes in with the questioning. "I keep hearing of disease, is it contracted from insect bites, spores, or is it more from all the walking corpses shambling around out there? And if one of us was to inadvertently catch the disease, do you know the symptoms and if there is there medicine we should prepare to bring?" He stops and thinks about if there is anything else that this group needs to learn from Mushairb before focusing on other business. We might need to outfit some of us in more flexible armor, which I'm no expert on but I know my leatherwork. Next, we to draft a checklist of the supplies we need and organize who is carrying what. Finally, we have to pick an initial destination to be our starting point of investigation.
At that last part Jolly pipes in and says, "Also, we would --"He glances over to Zubeki, furrows his brows for a second, and then looks back looking somewhat apologetic. "This one would at least know more of that situation regarding your home. Such as what can you tell us of these 'Fire Newts'? And of your home? This one has heard of this word 'volcano', but only so much. Also, would you happen to know of a river known as TAHT, or a Kahakla gorge? We were given a map to ease the journey, but as you may already know... such things are incomplete here."
"The River Tath starts at Jahaka Bay and ends in the Aldani Basin. I know it well. As for the gorge, I assume you mean the Gorge of Death? The river canyon called Ataaz Kahakla inspires wonder in most people who see it. The cliff walls, which vary from 50 to 200 feet high, are lined with row upon row of coral. It’s all dead, but it retains its rainbow colors, making the canyon into a breathtaking, pseudo-underwater seascape. Mixed in among the corals are intact skeletons of plesiosaurs, giant sharks, and other sea creatures."
He takes a sip of his water and continues. (He describes the Fire Newts)
"As for me home, Nearby volcanic eruptions forced us to abandon Hrakhamar. We always intended to reoccupy and reactivate the forge when it was deemed safe, but that day never came. Firenewts moved in and put the forge to work crafting armor and weapons for themselves."

"The Star Goddess, I was wondering if you would ask about that. The Star Goddess was a 90-foot skyship from Halruaa. It flew like a blimp, with the aid of an amazing lighter-than-air gasbag. A crew of Halruaan adventurers was using it to explore Chult from the air when it was attacked by a flock of pterafolk. I know where it crashlanded. As for my kind, Well we are a subterranean race but my people were driven from our home by volcanic activity. "I have only one last question then. If we return and you have been hired by another and no longer available which of the guides do you recommend and which do you think we should avoid?"
Musharib laughs. "Well, I guess that is a fair question. The most honest guide in all of Chult is Eku, she has been a guide for over 200 years in this jungle, Some say she is immortal considering she is human. Unfortunately, she is out on expeditions right now and who knows when she will be back. Shago is trustworthy. He is a Chultan and the only son of Zhanthi, one of Port Nyanzaru’s merchant princes. He works out of Fort Beluarian, and although he presents himself as an independent operator, he’s in league with the Flaming Fist. Shago has led many Flaming Fist expeditions into the jungle to clear out undead but his heart is for Chult and it's people. The druid that resides in the Fist's Fort is honorable as well as long as you help fight the undead wherever you see it. "
He scratches his beard, "As for dishonest ones to avoid. It depends on what you would call dishonest. I do not wish to place myself in that situation and speak ill of other guides. They are all trying to make a living and we all answer to Jobul, I for one do not want it going back to Jobul that I'm telling people to stay away from his employees. I am sorry."
Tyrgram stands a bit back, listening to what the albino Dwarf has to offer and letting the others do the talking. What the Dwarf says sounds good so far, though he is a bit wary about the whole 'reclaiming the mines' bit. Dusting out these little Firenewts does not sound too troubling but Tyrgram has read enough books of Flint Fireforge, Dwarf Adventurer! to know that Dwarven mines have the nasty habit of attracting dragons. Or worse... Then again, Dragonslayer does have a nice ring to it.
Tyrgrams shakes his head a bit to clear his mind. The sooner they are on their way, the better but to go out into the jungle with the first guide they encountered seems a bit rash. It's always good to do a bit of window shopping and see what the rest has to offer before they embark on their journey. Speaking of...
'I'm going over to the Thundering Lizard.' Tyrgram says as the group finished up with the Dwarf. 'There's something I want to check out: a fellow named Zee needs some help clearing out the ruins of a temple in exchange for gold and treasure. Could be useful to make connections and make a name for ourselves. Plus we can always use the money.'
He turns on his heels towards the door. 'Anyone want to tag along? 'Cause I don't think it's wise for us to wander about alone. You know, like the bud-' Tygram's voice drops in volume as he realises the childish solution he is mentioning, '-dy system.' He finishes with a sheepish smile.
The entrance to the Inn is a large T-Rex skull with its jaws wide open. You enter the Inn by going through the mouth of the T-Rex. There is a curtain hanging in the doorway that you push aside to enter. The common room is large with tables spread out, fifteen in total.
There is a small flight of stairs (7 steps) that lead to a landing where a bar is set up. It's a circular bar with a local Chultan man and woman tending the bar. Across from the landing on the other side of the common room is another flight of stairs leading to another landing. On that landing is a stage.
On the stage is a Chultan male bard singing a song while playing his lute. A Tabaxi female in white fur and wearing leather strips barely covering her privates is dancing on one side of the bar, while a half elven female dressed the same is on the other side. Gold and silver coins are thrown all over the stage floor.
The bard is playing a fast tempoed song and the dancers are gyrating wildly as people closest to the stage are clapping their hand and stomping their feet in tune with the bard.
Smack dab in the middle of the room is a large poster board with many papers on it.
There is a low murmur within the bar as various people talk amongst themselves. You hear some talk about the gladiator games that's going on today and rumor has it a bunch of new people are supposed to be signing up today.
The bar is almost full this time of day except for three tables. Most of the people are commoners and merchants that are here grabbing something to eat for an early lunch or late breakfast.
You do notice one of the guides, Salida, sitting at the bar talking to a large turtle looking humanoid. You heard they are called Tortles, a race native to Chult.
One table has six male Chultans geared as if they are going on an expedition, eating a meal and laughing. While the table next to them has 4 males dressed in plate armor talking quietly amongst themselves. They are definitely not from around here and look to be from Waterdeep.
A beautiful Chultan female is sitting at a table with her feet up. She is dressed in jungle colored clothing, green and tan. (Looks like something Indiana Jones would wear). A machete is hanging from her belt. She is keeping her eye on the four men wearing armor and chuckling to herself.
Sitting close to the stage is a bronze colored Tiefling with copper colored hair. He is wearing leather armor and has a rapier hanging from his side. He is tapping on a viola in tune to the music. It looks like he wants to play it but out of respect for the fellow bard, he is just tapping on it.
A high elf is sitting a little distanced from everyone else at the bar, a little distrustful but also occasionally looking around for the others she's supposed to be traveling with. For a high elf she wears clothes that looked like they had been nice before but now a but worn with time, a dagger - that would be hidden if not for the handle showing slightly - at her hip and a greataxe on her back. Her white hair is cut a bit messily as if she had used her dagger to do it, but it looks pretty good. Her eyes are noticeably blue flecked with bits of gold as she sees the group enter.
Already on his feet having said his piece, Jolly moves to start following Tygram, only to stop and glance over to the others. "Eh, dragon-man?" Jolly motions with his head over to Tygram. "Mind? This one still has something to converse with one called Zubeki here. And from what we were told, the Thundering Lizard is not good place for that sort of thing. B-but we will catch up later. No worries."
"Aye, Jolly let us have that conversation." Zubeki smiles at Musharib and stands up. "Musharib, if we do not cross paths again, may your travel be safe and your journey sees an end. Tyrgram, I'll keep it short and we will meet you there."
Zubeki leads Jolly to his room, which he unlocks with an iron key. Inside it is well furnished, with a desk and standing cupboard closet. Strewn across the bed is a bolt of cream colored linen, as well as papers with sketches of formal wear. A small box filled with multicolored thread, seam-rippers, and needles of all colors and sizes sits on the desk, along with a pair of large steel scissors and small bronze scissors in the shape of a crane. Hanging in the closet are much plainer clothes that Zubeki wears, a muddled paisley pattern of olive and emerald greens, but with shocks of pale yellow at the cuffs and color. They are tailored of a light fabric that seems to be more suited for travel off-road.
Zubeki leans his staff against the desk's chair and removes his ornate coat. The fashionable coat does not breath well and leaves Zubeki's undershirts soaked with sweat. He moves over to a white porcelain washbasin and starts to splash his face to remove the sweat that the heat is pulling out. "So Jolly, my gentle giant-kin companion, what did you want to talk about in private?" He rubs the water from his eyes and lathers a small knob of soap to clean his hands.
Vrak nods to Jolly. "Yes friend, I can accompany Tygram."
Vrak walks out with Tygram. When he reaches the inn he takes in the sights and sounds of the rooms within. Spotting the board he moves to it and begins checking the board.
With a curt nod of his own and retrieval of the gold, Jolly bids Musharib goodbye before following after the Zubeki. Though the rest of the building might be designed to be at least a little accommodating for big'uns like the cleric, the giant-kin would nevertheless find himself scrunched into himself just to avoid a repeat of Wakanga's home. He won't entirely succeed. So, by the end of the trip -- however short that it may be -- his usual absent-minded smile is more nervous from possibly any one of the incidents.
Distracted as he was by examining the room, Jolly perks up the name, and turns to regard Zubeki. However, a lenghty moment of silence passes before the giant-kin utters a word. In the meantime, he just stands there staring at the wizard, staff still in hand, and expression for once serious if only because of the flatness to it. "Remove the mask, and speak the truth, one who calls themselves Zubeki. Why are you really here? And why did you accept this mission? Why abandon the life that you have thus far led? Thou has no reason to fully trust this one yet according to the rules of this world. Nevertheless, this one would hear an answer for one so filled with fear." He states calmly,

Vrak nods to Jolly. "Yes friend, I can accompany Tygram."
Vrak walks out with Tygram. When he reaches the inn he takes in the sights and sounds of the rooms within. Spotting the board he moves to it and begins checking the board.
As they are walking towards the Thundering Lizard inn, Tyrgram takes effort not to glance at Vrak from the corner of his eye. Truth be told, he feels a smidgen uncomfortable walking beside his scaly companion, not helped in the least that he looks big and strong enough to take Tyrgram's head off in a single bite. He feels a bit relieved when Vrak immediately moves over to the board in the middle of the inn.
'Yeah, y-you go check that out.' Tyrgram says in an unsure voice. 'I'll go speak to the bartender.'He walks over to the circular bar with his eyes firmly set on it, taking great care not to gawk at the dancing girls and vehemently hoping that his flushed cheeks is being played off as sunburn. He waves one of the bartenders over. 'I'm looking for someone named Zee. I've been told this is where I could find him?' Tyrgram does a (very) quick scan of the room. 'Or her?'
Naivara looks around the bar, her chin in her hand. She taps her fingers against the table in a slight rhythm. She had been here for two days now, today she would be meeting the others who she would travel with to end the death curse. Looking up, she gives a slight distrustful look around, her bored tapping pauses as she sees some newcomers looking at them. Tilting her head in interest seeing the rather intimidating dragon born and the human man who had entered with him. She remembers the descriptions Syndra Silvane had given to her so that she would find the group easier. She slowly rises, keeping an eye on the two approaching the dragonborn first.
"I suppose you have spoken with Syndra about ending the death curse as well?" She asks, getting straight to the point before realizing the others might not have been warned of her joining them on this adventure. "My name is Naivara Liadon, two days ago I was told to wait here by Syndra Silvane until others who would be going into the jungle to end the death curse arrived."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
That Syndra Sylvane told him to stay at the Thundering Lizard for the time being was something he appreciated. Wherever there's music, there's heart - and that, my friends, is beautiful. Any and all places that would open their arms to a bard felt like home, and so Jirani didn't mind the wait. Instead he enjoyed the performance that was put on, giving his own sign of appreciation by tapping his violin. This was a new violin, a crude replacement for the one that had been stolen from him in this very city upon arriving. But it had all the components needed to make splendid music. It just lacked that sentimental value his prior violin, a precious gift, had held.
The bronze tiefling surely was a sight to behold. His long, straight horns pointed to the ceiling. They were golden in color and, one would assumed, polished to get a very luxurious shimmer. In a display of its own he had hung various jewelry between the horns with gold chains, all which glistened in the light when he moved his head. His eyes shone of the same gold that seemed to be as much a part of him as a lifelong obsession. Whatever piece of fabric shown underneath his leather armor looked, and probably also felt, like silky gold. All of this, in contrast to his bronze skin, made for a very balanced appearance. In his long, smooth copper hair you can find even more gold and jewelry braided into it.
It isn't hard to spot one of the people that Syndra Sylvane had pointed out to him, and while doing so a grin spreads across his face. How precious. With a nod to the bard to truly visualize that he had appreciated the show, the tiefling soon gets up. He attempts to sneak right up behind the human by the bar. Stealth: 15. He wraps an arm around the male's shoulders, admiring the innocent blush on his cheeks. It wasn't hard to deduce why. "It's okay to look, you know. They are putting on a great show." Jirani cooed before releasing the human, though still standing very close to him. "It's Tyrgram, isn't it?" The tiefling asked innocently, calmly listening in on the conversation he started with the bartender. "I do believe we've got Syndra Sylvane in common."
He waves one of the bartenders over. 'I'm looking for someone named Zee. I've been told this is where I could find him?' Tyrgram does a (very) quick scan of the room. 'Or her?'
The male bartender walks over to Tyrgram and smiles. He points to the beautiful Chultan woman sitting with her feet on the table. "That's Zee," he says. "Can I get you anything else?"
As Vrak walks over and examines the board he sees a whole lot of information to digest. On one side of the large board are small postcards with pictures of people and a little 'blurb' about them with the word Guides over them, on the other side of the board, it says odd jobs.
There is one post in flowing handwriting that looks out of place on the board.

'I'll go speak to the bartender.' He walks over to the circular bar with his eyes firmly set on it, taking great care not to gawk at the dancing girls and vehemently hoping that his flushed cheeks is being played off as sunburn.
