Halyqwyn keeps hold of the eyeball and puts her other hand on Davis's shoulder. "I am so sorry to hear you've had such tragedy. Yes, I will be by your side as we seek your vengeance. For you and for Devlin and Kevori."
"Light? If we can see in the darkness... all the better, I can assist. Anyone need some help seeing in the dark? If we can keep our lights extinguished, all the better to sneak up on our foes."
“Thanks” he says to Halyqwyn, then adds “I would prefer to travel without light, but alas I can’t see very well in the dark. If you have a way to aid us, I think that would be a better course."
The tunnel proceeds at a downward slope, bringing you about 20 feet beneath street level. The tunnel is about 5 feet wide, 10 feet high, and made of roughly hewn stone. Rusted wall sconces hold lit torches, giving off a dim light. It proceeds about 40 feet to the east before turning to the southeast and opening into a chamber.
(Please give me a marching order. The area is dimly lit, so no additional light required =)
OOC: Davis is good going first as a tank roll, If someone wants to go first as more of a scout roll, or just really wants to lead, Davis can go second.
The group proceeds to the next chamber. The soft lapping of water echoes through this wide chamber. Wood and stone debris from collapsed buildings litter the area. Brackish water floods nearly half of the chamber, getting deeper toward a dark tunnel to the west. The water is murky, but your test shows that it is at least waist deep - perhaps deeper further on...
Passive Perception of 12 or higher:
You notice the entrance to a cramped tunnel hidden behind some collapsed rubble to the south.
Halyqwyn holds up the undead eye to see if it has an opinion on which way they should go...hoping it agrees with Vanizi as she really doesn't want to get that wet.
Alcyone taps her chin. "Maybe the tunnel behind the rubble might be promising? Those rocks could've been purposefully placed there to conceal the tunnel," she suggests, adding "...and I would really prefer not to go for a swim down here." She grimaces at the deepening water farther down the chamber.
Halyqwyn nods at Alcyone assertion, "My thoughts exactly. C'mon, help me move some rocks." Placing the eyeball carefully in her pouch, she starts attempting to move some rubble away to clear their path.
The cramped passage is large enough to accommodate Davis, but everyone else must squeeze to move through it. (A creature can squeeze through a space that is large enough for a creature one size smaller than it. While squeezing through a space, a creature must spend 1 extra foot for every foot it moves there, and it has disadvantage on attack rolls and Dexterity saving throws. Attack rolls against the creature have advantage while it’s in the smaller space.)
“I can take a quick peek to the south if we like, but I’m going to assume it’s dark and I won’t see much. I don’t want to use precious magical resources allowing only me to see, unless it’s not too taxing?”
Davis continues, “If so, I can scout a bit. I promise you I’m driven, but not foolish.”
“If not, we can continue on the lighted path.”
OOC: Assuming the caved in tunnel is not lit by anything
Katarina glares at the dark water in the way of the larger path... she really isn't in any mood for a swim tonight. And she isn't especially thrilled about the idea of forcing herself through the tiny tunnel either... so many things could go wrong either way.
She glances down at her silk dress and sighs. She probably should have expected things to rough and dirty.
"If you wish to give Katarina a moment to put on more appropriate attire for the task... perhaps she could look to see what lies down the flooded pathway?" the feline says reluctantly. "Neither path especially appeals to Katarina... but at least she can stand up in the first tunnel..."
Looking around the chamber, you see that you can assemble a makeshift skiff from the debris lying around to make traversing the flooded area easier. (If you choose to do this, I need one of you to make a DC 11 Survival check. One other person who is proficient in Survival can Aid. On a successful check, the skiff is sturdy enough to support two of you. You may fit another person for every 5 points above the DC - so a Survival check of 16 means you can fit three people, 21 carries four...)

(Davis first, then Halyqwyn and Kayarina. Then Vanizi and Aranix. My suggestion at least. Hopefully I got everyone!)

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?

(Works for me!) Halyqwyn nods at the lanterns, "Next time, I can help if need be."
"Well if anyone has any protective wards, or magical enhancements to cast, now's the time" Davis says. Once everyone seems ready, he will proceed.
OOC: Generally, (if all agree) we will move slowly and as cautiously as we can.
Vanizi chimes in after Halqwyns comment. "I can help with light too. But let's get going."

"There's another tunnel behind that rubble to the south," Vanizi says, pointing in that direction. "Perhaps that's the best path?"

Standing in this room, the eye points to the southwest - it looks like either passage might take you where the eye points!

Seeing the narrow passage Vanizi frowns. "Can anyone see how far until it widens out? It does get wider, right?"
