Before he can read to heavily into the situation, Elizar grabs a hold of Cit’rine, sword to his throat. Se’air sighs internally, this could get out of control in the matter of seconds and he didn’t think Gunther would appreciate them killing his friends.
He looks Elizar in the eyes,
“why don’t we discuss this in a civil manner? if we can’t come to an agreement then we can resort to... this” he motions vaguely at Elizar and Cit’rine. “but let us not make rash decisions based on hasty assumptions, put your sword down”
he speaks, tone even and calm. He raises both hands beside his head in a surrendering manner, yet stays alert for any movements from any one in front of him.
The below is for Aramilla & Estelle only. Please respect this.
Aramilla & Estelle - you watch as Elizar takes off into the woods with Se'air hot on her tail. Aramilla this annoys you now that the party has split as the cargo is now less secure as a result. With this in mind you signal to Estelle to keep her eyes open for anything. Both of you roll perception
Aramilla's post
with a sigh, Aramila brings the Oxen to a halt. She hated wasting time and the delay was bothering her; especially since they had never travelled these roads before. “Estelle”, she says as she hops off the cart “keep an eye on the front of the cart”, she continues as she circles around and makes her way to the back as a precaution.
Cit'rine presses himself into the white haired girls sword, digging it deeper into his neck, then takes a step forward slowly running his neck down the blade. He gets as close he can get to the girl- "You have interrupted me and my new friend here" he says trying to keep his grin but clearly getting upset. His wide eyes slowly getting a shade darker- a storm forming in them.
"I suggest you let us continue our talk...MOVE!!" he bellows the last word, his anger getting the best of him before he immediately tries to form a grin again.
Elizar looks at Se'air and nods, as Citrine starts to push against her sword. She is unnerved as he yells his last word and slowly, purposely drops her sword.
'Your not very good at playing games. Its easy for your opponent when they are facing a fool'her words are cold are slow. She looks at his neck disgusted and turns to Sariya. 'Has he hurt you Sariya?' she looks her up and down as she glares back at Citrine.

Se’air flinches slightly at Cit’rines raised voice, he knew the older man was unpredictable and hoped to reign in the situation before his temper could get out of hand.
Good. At least Elizar had disengaged. He waits for Sariyas response, taking in the pool of blood and the two bloodied blades on the ground, he tries to piece together the details to understand what could have caused the two to fight ( insight - 16 ) (perception - 22 )
OOC - If roll is successful, and assuming Se’air recognises Cit’rines blade - he is assuming the second belongs to Sariya. He then looks to both Sariya and Cit’rine to see where they have each been stabbed and how bad the damage is. depending on his roll not sure if he’ll pick up any of this but that’s what i’m looking for :-)
Everything happens to fast for Sariya making her anxious. she didnt like this, all this fighting and blood, she wanted to go back to the peace she knew in her forest where the fighting she knew was between two squrials thats lived in her tree house.
she was greatful for Elizar for always being at her side but she didn't want to see her new friend be in pain again. "No Elizar its okay he didnt hurt me I stabed him only because he played a trick on me but then when i licked him and it was only berries then i gave him berries to heal him and then he stabbed himaelf again i really dont know why and now were friends you see so everythings okay" she tries to expain everything so fast that her words barley make sense. She takes a breathe and looks at Cit'rene "I'm sorry. This is all my fault. aAre you okay? Do you want some more berries?"
Se'air you make a safe assumption that the other blade belongs to Sariya however a quick look over proves hard to see where either is injured if at all. You notice instead the passive and confused stance Sariya has now taken and the fact that Cit'rine referred to Sariya as friend. You are not sure what you and Elizar may have stumbled into but it seems different than what it appeared to be at first.
As Sariya begins to stumble her way through an explanation your attentions drifts to beyond where they are standing to the opposite edge of the clearing.
More blood, that is certain, but also... something else.... a body...?

Estelle - you slow your breathing and scan the brush around you carefully while thinking to yourself what dumb luck would it be to get ambushed at a time like this. After all the simplest jobs always seem to be the biggest pain in your... - there, the slightest movement in the bush. You double take and look back quickly, moving to get a better view. Suddenly an arrow flies out of the bush skimming past you cheek and embedding itself with a muffled thud into the hard wood of the cart where your face would have been half a second before...
A high pitched guttural cry fills the air suddenly as the surrounding brush comes alive and several goblins step out onto the road brandishing crude weapons and malicious grins.

The rest have not noticed
‘...a body...?’ He thinks as he stops listening to Sariya completely and instead begins to make his way towards the figure to confirm if his suspicion is right. What was someone doing in this part of the forest, off the road? As he walks along he scans the treetops for any sight of huddled figures, in case of ambush ( perception - 21 ) Although he’s not too concerned. If it is a body, Cit’rine probably saw something shiny on the poor fellow and dragged him out here for some fun during his scouting he thinks to himself.
Elizar squints at Sariya trying to take everything she was saying in. Although she realised that Sariya was not hurt, she picked up a few things in her chatter that put a scowl on her face and a glare in her eye.
She knew well what the tiefling's berries could do, and the fact that Citrine had stabbed HIMSELF again and taken her berries, and then declared his friendship, did not sit well with her one bit.
She looks to the place where the most blood had formed on Citrine's shoulder and notes the heal. 'Her berries would make her quite a useful friend wouldnt they?'. She steps close to the man for the second time that day and once again her voice drops to a cold whisper 'Im watching you' she taps him on the bloodied shoulder with her sword, 'and I dont like you'.
OOC- DM i thought that she would figure out what Citrine had discovered and that he was taking advantage of Sariya. However just in case. Perception 19

a quick scan of the treeline doesn't reveal anything and your eyes return to the body. it is mostly hidden within the brush but as you draw closer you notice the body is much to large to be human.... maybe some kind of larger animal... definitely injured... probably dead.... You continue studying the shape as you approach and upon reaching it you pull away the brush to reveal what you are already expecting.
Hmmm... not the work of Cit’rine then. He examines the wounds on the horse, looking to identify the bite marks and how long the horse had been dead. Crouching down, he brings his face close to the bite wounds, grimacing from the smell. ( investigation - 10 )
He stands, hands on his hips checking the foliage around the horse, searching for any kind of track marks. Had the horse stumbled here on its own before laying to die? Or had it been dragged? ( investigation - 15 ) ( perception - 5 )
OOC- Se’air is checking if the blood is dry or wet to determine how long the horse has been dead - if wet he thinks there is a present threat and is alert - and checking the bite marks to try and figure out what could have done this - e.g sharp small teeth that made clean small puncture wounds/ blunt square teeth that tore through the flesh etc so he can try and guess what creature has done this
Second check - sorry didn’t know what roll to do hehe so did both :)
Once he’s checked everything and is satisfied he would like to call out Cit’rines name to tell him what he’s found
Se'air - the blood has congealed in most areas although closer to the leg and rib wounds you feel that there remains a slight warmth - at a guess you would say around a day old. There are several different looking and inconsistent bite marks, perhaps whatever bit into the horse was not necessarily looking for a meal.
No of course notyou think nodding to yourself. This horse was attacked and killed by weapons you judge noting the jagged gashes across its legs, you crouch down peering on the underside, reach over and snap off the end of a short and crudely designed arrow with black feathers.hmm definitely not of human design.
you look past the corpse to see the scraped earth and bits and pieces of broken foliage. The trees are denser here than on the trail and from this distance it would appear that the horse crashed through the woods from ahead and fell a few feet from where it lay now.
Your sharp eyes pick up red leathers of the saddlebags and another smaller leather case disposed of to the side.
"Cit'rine"you call over your shoulder
Everyone else - you may now notice Se'air as you wish but remember only Se'air has investigated and worked out all the above
Cit'rine begins drawing his axe, he didnt like it when people didnt like him....
He turns to Ser'air when he calls his name, ready to defend his actions- but notices his friend isn't looking at him. What is he looking at? His interest is pricked and he quickly begins to lose interest with the girl and makes his way over to Ser'air, axe in hand to look over his shoulder.

Aramilla & Estelle
Aramilla - You hear a thud followed by Estelle muttering a curse, you turn quickly rounding the cart to see what the all the fuss is about as suddenly 3 Goblins burst out of the brush ahead of you waving Scimitars high. The middle Goblin was a little larger then the rest, he points his Scimitar at you and lets out high pitched cry commanding the others to attack.
You will be surprised for the first round of combat despite your roll of 15 initiative due to your low perception check of 5.
Estelle - At the Goblins cry the Oxen both begin to anxiously flare their nostrils and roll their eyes looking for a sign of danger. the oxen have not yet spotted the goblins but if they are spooked enough they may run taking the cart full of wares with them. you might be able to calm them but how you do that is up to you...
Encounter -
Enemy turn
the goblin that let out the cry will hold his position - end turn.
the two flanking will run forward swords held high.
one will begin to circle the cart towards Estelle making it within 10 feet and squares off to face her - end turn 10 feet from Estelle but in full view of 1 of the Oxen who is beginning to panic.
the other keeps forward charging at Aramilla swinging his scimitar down at her Attack: 24 Damage: 5- ends turn.
Estelle you notice more movement in the brush and you guess the one that shot the arrow at you is still in hiding.... maybe with others....

Estelle proceeds forward with her sword, making an attack towards the one who attacked mila while trying to get her friend behind her. (attack-10 damage-9) . in the commotion she tries to calm the oxen as best as she can, she does a calming noise "shhh?" and if successful with her attack + disbanding would like to reach out to comfort the animal with one hand. She also calls out to mila- “GET ON THE OXEN”
OOC: not sure if i would be able to do the animal handling in the same action or be successful but thought i'd try. Also not sure but just gonna do a disadvantage animal handling roll in case :)

Eyes fixed on the goblin ahead, you reach out with your free hand patting the Oxen as you softly shush in its ear. Having heard your gentle shushes over the course of 2 days, the Oxen calms slightly.
