(Gaberin begins to examine the Goblin corpse. He seems to have been young. He's wearing dirty, ratty leather armor, a rusty dagger tucked in his belt. The blacksmith tool seems to have caught him right in his little goblin heart, so you're pretty sure he died instantly. He finds 2 cp and a collection of lint.
Rori looks around for footprints but gets distracted and spaces out, looking at the ground. :)
Jubilee asks Rickard to describe what happened.)
"It was just a normal day. I was making a plow, I mainly make farming equipment nowadays, when the goblins burst in and started attacking me. I didn't do anything to them. Never seen them before in my life. Bess was coloring in her bedroom, and when I came to, she was gone."
Gaberin looks at the debris from the attack. Just a bunch of broken pottery, a regular, slightly dirty floor. Nothing of note.
Rickard looks flustered but does his best to answer Jubliee's questions.
"She doesn't go outside much. Only child and such. She prefers to stay inside and draw. No, she hasn't mentioned anything unusual."
Jubilee goes to the back door and looks out.
Spoiler for Jubilee ONLY:
You look towards the stable, but it looks empty and like no animals have lived there for some time. Looking to the other side of the pen you notice a broken gate on the far right. Looking down, you notice some tracks in the dirt, and are able to perceive that there were about 7 sets of tracks. 6 appear to be Goblin tracks, and 1 seems to be from a small human. The tracks seem to be going to a fence on the far northeast side of the property.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
While Jubilee walks out and Gabe looks through the debris, Rori walks towards the back room with the beds and attempts to look through some of Bess' drawings, trying to get an idea of what she's like.
(Rickard then follows Rori as she goes to the living quarters. It's a simple room with a bed, a dresser, and a small child's bed. Rickard takes a small rag doll from her bed and hands it to Rori.)
"This is her favorite doll. When you save her... please... she must be so scared..."
(The big, burly Blacksmith breaks down for a moment, but manages to compose himself. He then goes into his dresser and also pulls out a small First Aid box with 2 bandages.)
"Please, follow the tracks and find my daughter!"
Jubileedraws everyone's attention to the tracks she has discovered. Gaberin looks, then leaves the rooms and goes outside.)
DMs note: Ok, the rest of you can now look at the spoiler for Jubilee to see a map of what she found. Also, the bandages are a homebrew item that may come in handy if any of you lose consciousness.
Rori takes the doll gently and places it in a pocket inside her coat, "We'll bring her back."
Motioning her thumb toward the broken gate and nodding to her companions, "Keen eye, Jubilee. We better get a move on, they already have a good head start."
(The group gets ready and head out into the forest, following the tracks as best they can. Since there's no actual Rangers in the party, it's a little slow going, as you lose the trail a couple of times, only to find it again after a few minutes.
Everyone is moving forward at a good pace for several hours, but it's gotten dark. Those in the party without some sort of darkness vision light torches. Suddenly, A faint rustling noise, then some squealing is heard as a sense of danger fills the air.)
"Brace yourselves everyone!"
(Two boars, one regular Boar and one Giant Boar, are rushing at you all full speed. Roll for initiative!)
DM's notes: Make sure to include your Initiative modifiers (Dex Modifier) on the top of your sheet when you roll. This is the first battle and a good chance to test out any of your attacks, spells or skills you may not be too familiar with. Go nuts, as you will have a chance to rest and regain anything you use.

While looking at the ground, a shard of broken pottery brings back painful memories from the past and Rori spaces out mid-sentence.

Jubliee, still asking Rickard questions, turns slightly to her party for their input.
"Why would they take Bess? How did they know she was here? Did she ever mention anything strange about her time out of the home?"
As Rickard answers, she walks to the door leading to the pen and stables. She looks to see if there is anything of note.
