Gijigume searches the room for any other (possibly concealed) exits and any loot.
OCC: Investigation 13.
Your cursory investigation reveals that the fixtures and fittings of the room are of high quality but there are no piles of coin and gems or massively dangerous intelligent weapons here unlike the other two areas. Were could it all be?
"Ok, let's destroy him." Fah'lin pours a vial of holy water into the holes in the dais before making an attempt to smash the lid with an axe. (Athletics or Attack: 27)
Well if your going to take out your frustrations by smashing stone for an hour - okay, its unsubtle but it gets the job done. You get to the vampire's resting place. He is in repose and unable to move.
Tarnce will approach and smite him with a level 3 Guiding Bolt. (Advantage due him being Prone and disadvantage from 5 ft cancel out, or is he not prone?)
Attack: 22 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
And for good measure a War God's Blessing for a total of 26 to hit.

And he turns to mist again and a little later reforms. At least the hour starts again.
Arya "I remember something about wooden stakes and running water. What did that wizard tell us in Daggerford?" She looks around the vampire's crypt "Cool!" She finds 10,000 sp and 9,000 gp in six leather sacks, a potion of mind reading, and three spell scrolls (Far Step, dispel magic, and Greater Invisibility) and
"Anybody got a stake or a wooden wedge?" asks Gijigume. "I've got Mr Bop here," he brings his belaying pin from his rucksack, "and I could whittle hime down into a couple of stakes, but he's got sentimental calue."
"Maybe, if we drag him out into natural daylight he will be destroyed." Fah'lin suggests, "I'd rather not risk some group of adventurers coming along an removing the stake."
Thar can cast one more Fly so you can get out without the risk of falling to your deaths in the room of the geysers. There are a few minor items and some cash still in here but how about we declare victory and move on. You get the vampire outside and once he is in direct sunlight he falls to dust and is blown away.
A short and very successful expedition to correct your mistake. You have collected
You find 9 sets of plate armour of fine quality (worth a shitload of coin but hard to transport). A bunch of you recognise the lead knight from wanted posters you saw while in Neverwinter. He is Sir Bluto Sans Pite and is wanted for the River of Blood mass-murder, dead or alive. The reward is 10,000gp.
A few interesting items in there that people may want. I suggest that potions and scrolls go into a pool for use when required
The reward for Sir Bluto Sans Pite requires that you return to Daggerfall and I'm sure your friend Chercheur the wizard will be delighted by your tales of this strange place. Who knows, he may even have something for you to do if you find yourselves at loose ends.
Fah'lin will take the Ring of Vampiric Regeneration if no one is interested in it. But it adds the Periapt of Wound Closure to the mix.
With the aid of our mounts we should be able to transport the bulky equipment back to Daggerford for sale, and to collect the bounty, before we return to Neverwinter. Fah'lin has to return Chercheur's book after all.
Fah'lin is torn seeing multiple paths laid out before him. While each option appears to lead to the same end, the paths to get there are varied. He could amplify his power and his offences, by exploring the nature of magic (sorcery levels increase spell slots and grants meta magic later). He can explore the strength granted by his devotion to his patron (the nearest ASI and level-2 Pact Magic). But he decides to focus on his defences first, practicing the training he began in his home land (Paladin levels, give immediate boost to all saves as an Aura, anyone within 10 feet gets +3 to all saves).

(I got the Brightstaff last time so I'll sit out on picking the actual magical items. Also DM are any of those gems Diamonds that could be used for Raise Dead?)

Yes to the gems, there are some big ones in there.
He has no interest in any of the items other than the spell book(s) and two of the 3 spell scrolls (Far Step, and Greater Invisibility). Assuming the party is agreeable to that, when we get back to town he will take some time to learn Greater Invisibility and scribe it into his spell book.
OOC: Les, are we using the DMG cost and time for crafting items. I was thinking of crafting some scrolls but the time to do so seems excessive. As I read it a scroll of Greater Invisibility would take 100 days (and 2,500gp).

Yes those numbers do seem extreme. I think that spell scrolls should be 1 day and 100gp per spell level plus any cost of components. This way it’s the time that keeps a wizard from having the majority of their power being scrolls.
"Hmm, I guess if nobody else wants it, I'll take the rapier," says Gijigume not particularly enthusiastically, "although I don't really fancy running the risk of this thing controlling me."
How big is the room?

"Agreed, let's stake him now and drag him outside." Aeliarin offers his hammer and/or a torch for staking duties.
