(Happy to delay this post if the others decide to do something, other wise lets play it out)
At Grin's comment, Gotrek gives an expression somewhere between a grin and a grimace. "Its always like that son. If I can take one thing away from my previous experience, never expect something to act like you expect. If it does, thats when you should be worried.."
If nothing else happens and/or the group doesn't object, Gotrek turns to Renwick, "Once again, many thanks for all you have done for us." He will then lead the way back to the garden and over the wall to where the prisoner's are.
Thromkor holds his hand out and accepts the book from Grin. "Over the wall, then," the dragonborn says, stowing the book. He leads the group toward the exit, ready to check on the waiting party ... especially a certain dwarf.
Thromkor first checks on Bruldenthar to make sure the dwarf is OK. If he feels he should, he'll beg one of Grin's rations to give to the historian. Then, he'll hand Cole the amulet to give the halfling a better chance of staying on his feet during battle. Then, he'll try to get Tibold apart from the others to go through the book themselves.
Gotrek turns to the prisoner, and in as kind voice as he can manage through his exhaustion. "We have a little more now, as this gentlemen has offered to share."he says gesturing over his shoulder to Grin "So it will be strict rations again. We will return back into the building after we have rested to try and find the food stores."
Once the Prisoners have been checked on, Gotrek turns to the others, "Well I don't know about you guys, but I am going to need to take a nap before I go back into the building to look for the food stores." With that, he finds a spot by the wall and continues the sleep he was having in Renwick's Laboratory.
Grin would hand over the book and follow Gortek to check on the prisoners (how many are there?). Seeing the hungry people, Grin would take out his rations and hand them to the dwarf to distribute in whatever has been the normal way. At the mention of sleep, Grin would feel his own body ache. "I guess I will take first watch then?" The shifter would say as the dwarf began to sleep
After taking his turn for a long sleep, occasionally flinching during his slumber as he replays the recent fight in his dreams... Grin will wake to find a small note tucked into his hand. Opening the note and inspecting it, he can see that it is from Ostara. Once finished reading the message, he will crumple the letter and toss it on the ground. "I guess I will need to find some muscle elsewhere... The shifter would say to himself before looking over towards his dwarven friend. "But I don't think that should be a problem." Grin would say with a toothy grin as he stretches out feeling much better than before taking his rest.
(Gotrek took the last watch, assuming the rest started around 9am)
As the afternoon draws to a close (5pm), Gotrek wakes up his companions. Once they are all awake, he outlines his plan. "So the rations that Grin shared won't last long, so I think we just need to run in, find the food stores and run out so that these prisoners can have a proper meal. If the dwarven handiwork I saw down where we got attacked by the swooping gargoyles is indeed the same dwarven city that the book refers to, the lost city of Tyar-Besil, I think we need to stay clear of it. Call it a gut feeling. Once we have what we need, we can finally leave this place."
(Like What?)

The party makes it way back up the box canyon to the campsite without incident and now...

Gotrek will ask Grin and Cole to join him to do their best to check up on the prisoners.
The prisoners are all fine but one of them says "what are you going to do about food, we've only got enough to last us till sundown!"

OOC: What time is it?

(Let's say it is somewhere between 8.00 - 9.00 am)

Tibold smiles wearily at the shifter.
"If you would be so kind? I will take second watch, if no one objects."
And that's all I have to say about that.
Thromkor will look through the book until his body demands sleep (an hour or so).
(Gotrek will take what ever shift he is woken up for)
Once you guys have recorded a long rest - nothing will happen - let me know what you want to do.
