As the Party starts to get the group organised for a night march, the prisoners start grumbling. Finally Bruldenthar pulls the party aside and says "it might make sense if we leave in the morning."
And the Party sets off towards Red Larch – Day 8, First Ten-day, Month of Kythorn 1) As the year is moving towards mid-summer, the days are becoming longer and with the sun rising at 4.30 am after a chilly night (30 degrees Farenheit), there is a light layer of frost on the ground as the party breaks camp and gets going. Marching order is as follows: Gotrek and Grin followed by Thromkor and Bruldnethar, the prisoners and then Cole and Tibold bringing up the rear. 2) By about about 6.00 am the party has exited the small box canyon and is passing the Sacred Stone Monastery and starts to enter the main Canyon. By about 7.00 am the party has exited the larger canyon that the Monastery was located in and turns to the west towards Red Larch. 3) Once the party is out of the canyon they are exposed to the full effects of the weather systems impacting the Sumber Hills, as a strong warm wind (gusting up to 30 mph) blows from the South (left hand side as the party proceeds west following the same track they had been on only four days -although it feels like a lifetime – before. 4)At this point, the talkative Halfling pipes up and says, “you know Womford is only about 20 miles or so down the River, we should head there!” In response somebody in the party, probably Gotrek growls “na we know Red Larch and we’re taking you lot back there!” 5) The Party makes good time and travels about 10 miles. In late afternoon they come across the campsite where they had fought the water cultists four days ago. 6) Knowing that there is not a suitable campsite between here and the entrance to the Sighing Valley, they decided to establish camp for the night. The sun will set at about 7.30 pm and the moon will not rise until midnight watches are as follows: a]7.00 pm - 9.00 pm (Dim Light & Darkness) – Thromkor b] 9.00 pm - 11.00 pm (Darkness) – Tibold c]11.00 pm -1.00 am (Darkness – moon rise (three-quarter) is at midnight and while it provides light to see it does not negate the impacts of darkness for non-night vision races) – Gotrek d] 1.00 am-3.00 am (Darkness – the moon has risen but darkness is still the default for non-night vision races) – Grin e] 3.00 am-5.00 am (Darkness until 4.00 am and then Bright Light as the sun rises). 7) As the Party gets moving after another chilly night a quick head count shows that two of the prisoners - the Halflings - are missing. While the wind has dropped from the day before, the Party can see snow clouds forming above the Sumber Hills.
So what does the Party do?
If I have advanced the timetable to much and people want to do something else - e.g. Go to Womford please let me know.
When Thromkor is first asked (or told) to take first watch, he is visibly taken aback. It takes Tibold clearing his throat to get the dragonborn to respond with "Ah ... of course. I was planning to look through the book more anyway. I'll keep the first watch," he says, finding a comfortable spot by the fire.
The next morning, when someone mentions the halflings are gone, Thromkor seeks Bruldnethar. "The halflings — were they part of your original party? Did you know them?"
"The halflings — were they part of your original party? Did you know them?" Thromkor ask Bruldnethar.
"No, not of our party! Can't say I knew them well at all other than that they were prisoners with us"He thinks for a minute and looks at the group of 14 other prisoners and says "as a matter of a fact, with the exception of Gurd over there," he says pointing to a fairly non-descript human "who had something to do with the horses, I am the only member of the delegation here."
Gotrek speaks up, "Well Cole is probably right. They didn't seem to want to go to Red Larch and we are busy. Things things to do and enemies to slay." he turns to Grin, "Can you see if you can find any sign of where they have gone? if it looks like they got up and walked away, that was their decision."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Grin would nod and look around the campsite as well to see if he can tell where they went. (Investigation 4) my passive investigation is 17 and passive perception is 22.
The next day – Day 9, First Ten-day, Month of Kythorn 1) Having decided that the Halflings are not worth the effort of tracking down, the party continues its trek towards Red Larch. 2) About lunchtime they pass the entrance to the Sighing Valley and keep marching, planning to be Red Larch by about noon tomorrow. As evening approaches the snow clouds that have been threatening all day deliver and while the wind has dropped to gusts of about 20 mph, heavy snow starts to fall. 3) It is obviously going to be a wet and cold night as despite several attempts to light a fire it soon fizzles out. Resigned, the Party settles down for the night. 4)During (6) Grin's watch and despite the appalling weather which makes it diffiult to determine sounds and direction (8, 15, 11, 18, 1, 15, 5 & 13) he hears sounds (kicked rocks, low whispers, etc) as if several somethings - possibly as many as eight somethings - were trying to sneak up on the Camp from several different directions.
"Wake up everyone! It sounds like we have COMPANY!" Grin would yell, his face and arms changing as he finishes his sentence. His face becoming more like that of a canine and his hand becoming hairier as his fingertips change to look more like claws. The shifter would then draw his rapier and dagger. "Who is out there!? Show yourselves slowly unless if you hope to see the sunrise!" Grin would growl as he bares his teeth.

"So are we walking or sleeping" Grin would say sitting up from his bedroll.
Gotrek looks from Grin to the grumbling ex-prisoners to Thromkor. "I think we sleep and leave at first light."
Thromkor nods.
(The group will then sleep, and leave first light the next day)

(I agree with Gotrek staying on track for Red Larch)
Gotrek turns to the combined group, "Anyone know where the two halflings went?"

Thromkor looks around to see if he can determine if there was foul play.
Investigation: 12
All that Thromkor can see is a double set of Halfling sized footprints heading back down the path they had used to enter the campsite.

"It appears they decided to go their own way," Thromkor says. He looks at his four companions. "We have a job to do, so I saw we continue on."
