Grin will listen intently while stuffing his face. "So we heading back tomorrow then?" The shifter would ask inbetween bites. "Perhaps some of the people here would be inclined to provide additional weapons and items that may help us in our noble quest!' Grin would mutter aloud before leaning in close to Thromkor "Who doesn't love free stuff and I right?"
"Perhaps some of the people here would be inclined to provide additional weapons and items that may help us in our noble quest!"Grin states
At Grin's statement, Lymurra says "Red Larch is not an overly prosperous village, nor is it large. I could however ask some of the Merchants and Shopkeepers on your behalf. What exactly were you looking for?
"Healing potions, magical or enhanced weapons, silvered weapons, magical trinkets or enchanted armor?" Grin will say as he counts on his fingers. "I know I nearly died a number of times just getting these prisioners back to town.. and I assume the creatures that remain in those ruins will only be harder to kill"
"Healing potions, magical or enhanced weapons, silvered weapons, magical trinkets or enchanted armor?"Grins says with a hopeful expression on his face.
Lymmurra turns to Imdarr and says "well I did ask him what he wanted!"She then turns back to Grin and says "we are a Village of 500, if you include the surrounding farms, and do not have any of those. We can however provide you all with a week's supply of our local delicacy ‘Crumblecake” which is made of baked turkey and wildfowl scraps, nuts, and chopped roots and greens, mixed in a chickpea mash and then baked."
The idea of eating nothing but Crumblecake for a whole week generates a look of horror on Imdarr's face.
"I'll take it!' Grin would say before taking another bite of food. Then turning and giving a large smile to his companions. "it never hurts to ask" he would say with a wink.
Travelling Back to the Monastery – Days 1&2, Second Ten-Day, Month of Kythorn 1) After an enjoyable dinner and a comfortable night at The Swinging Sword at the Village’s expense as gratitude for rescuing the prisoners the party gets ready not long after dawn (4.30 am) to make its way back to the Monastery (OOC: if anybody wants to RP discussions in the Inn’s Common Room after dinner let me know) the party is getting ready to return to Monastery. 2) One of the Inn’s stablehands comes into Common Room as the Party is having breakfast and seeing them pack their equipment up says “I’d be watching out for snow today if I were you, looks like its building up on the Hills.”As one of the party members sticks their head outside they see that the stablehand is right- there are snow clouds on the hills and a coldish wind is blowing from the North. 3) Not long after this another two villagers enter the Common Room carrying five packages, the lead one says “Mangobarl sent this down for you.”Inside each packages is seven individually wrapped packages of Crumblecake, each of which is equivalent to one days rations (OOC: Each party member has seven days of rations). 4) Shortly thereafter a young woman comes into the Common room carrying sets of cloaks and weatherproof equipment. She says “Haeleeya sends these with her thanks” (OOC: If a party member did not have it previously they now all have Traveller’s Clothes) 5)Bruldenthar says to Thromkor at some stage during breakfast “I’ll not be travelling with you but will make my way to Waterdeep to report that the Mirrabar delegation will no longer be arriving in Waterdeep. If you should have some success in rescuing the remaining delegation members please send a message to the Castle. I will wait until Day 10 of Second Ten-day, Flamerule. If I have heard nothong by then I will return to Mirrabar!” 6) The party sets off by about 7.00 am and they estimate it will take them two days to make their way back to the Monastery. By late afternoon they realise that the stablehand was right as snow starts to fall and the wind picks up to about 25 mph. As they are heading east and skirting the lower slopes of the Sumber Hills they are protected from the worst of the weather but it is going to be a cold and miserable night dropping to below freezing. The party members sit huddled behind some rocks doing there best to get out of the weather and grateful for the warm cloaks provided by the Village and munching on Crumblecake. 7)Next morning – after an uneventful night – the party continues at dawn. Although the snow and rain stopped sometime during the night, the wind has now picked up to 35 mph (-4 on ranged attacks) and is still blowing from the north. During the day as they continue trekking along the edge of the hills they see nobody but late afternoon they hear a deep baying coming from behind them as if something is on their trail …
Gotrek has been pretty silent on the way back to the Monastery. He had said his piece and thoughts but ultimately the group did what it wanted, so he silently lead the way.
At the sound of the baying, Gotrek turns and scans this hillside for the source of the noise.
What bays? 1) As Gotrek looks back from his position at the back of the party he sees two large dog like creatures moving through the shadows created by the setting sun. They look like
"Well, let's scare those away. Go on," he calls to the animals, pointing at them, "GET!"
As Tibold calls out, he stomps his foot, and (2) casts Shatter in front of the animals, just near enough that they are barely not caught in the blast, which does 12 thunder damage to all objects in a 20-foot-wide sphere in front of the creatures.
After the group is alone, Thromkor says to Gotrek, "You had asked about whether the book mentioned the other cults. It — the book — is written by the leader of the earthers and mentions three other individuals, who are most likely the leaders of the other three cults. In one of the entries, he says he doesn't know where the other three went, but he suspects they are also in the old city under the monastery. It is very confusing to me how he could not know whether they are there or not. It must mean the old city is immense."
“You’ve got that right”Gotrek says to Thromkor. He then continues“if I remember the story right as my Grandpappy used ta tell it.The shield dwarf kingdom of Besilmer, was founded nearly six thousand years ago, and was a bit unusual in that it was a dwarven kingdom built on the surface, with its strength measured in fields and pastures. They also built The Stone Bridge up on the other side of the Sumber Hills near Beliard to link the both sides of the realm. I’ve not seen it but apparently the bridge is two miles long four hundred feet high and only 20 feet wide. Apparently the Kingdom prospered for the first 100 years after it was founded but then there were several invasions by trolls and giants and the dwarves moved underground, carving out the fortress-city of Tyar-Besil. The whole Kingdom didn’t last long after its king and founder died in battle and the City was abandoned about 250 years after it was founded."

"Time for puppy stew!" Gotrek calls out as he charges the big dogs, ready to swing his Great-axe. (Gotrek is sitting at M6 and is readying an attack if dogs come within attacking range.)

Puppy Stew or Roast Dwarf - yummie! - Only Time will tell? 1) The Puppy at the back of the pack moves to P6 opens his mouth and the flames of hell pour forth. 2) Gotrek make a Dex Save (DC 12) to take only half of (26) fire damage [if you fail take full damage. 3) Grin turns and runs back towards the puppies. As he reaches J7 he releases the arrow he had nocked on his bow at the flaming puppy (Attack: 20 Damage: 5 which despite the gusting wind plows straight down the Puppy's throat. (OOC: Wreck asked me to NPC his character for a while) 4) Cole you're up.

Roast Halfling is better than Roast Dwarf 1) Cole shot was wild but the gusting wind (-4 on missile attacks) blew it even further off course. 2)The second puppy moves to K8 where it opens its mouth and the flames of hell pour forth getting both Cole & Grin 3)Cole make a Dex save (DC 12) to take only half of 24 of fire damage - if you fail take full damage 4) Grin (DC 12 & rolls 24) manages to step aside and avoid most of the damage. 5) Thromkor you're up....
As Gotrek barely manages to sidestep the bulk of the flames unleashed at him, he calls out, as he brushes off the flames on his sleeves. "Come here and play with my Axe. Then you will be 6 ft under and a dirty dog!"

What bays?
1) As Gotrek looks back from his position at the back of the party he sees two large dog like creatures moving through the shadows created by the setting sun. They look like
2) Initiative rolls - (9, 16. 11, 1, 16, 2 & 17) and Initiative Order - Tibold, Gotrek, Puppy #2, Grin, Cole, Puppy #1 & Thromkor
3) Tibold you're up ...
DM - Stopping a god in his tracks
Tibold sighs dramatically.
And that's all I have to say about that.
