Grin would stand on the ledge and sniff the air before making examining the surroundings. His long leather jacket billowing behind him in the breeze. "hmmm... I wonder which way down seems best..." Grin would say scratching his scruffy chin.
Grin would motion to the others to follow him as he makes his way to the valley floor. The shifter would practically glide down the slop on top of the loose rocks and soil before coming to a stop at the bottom. Sniffing the air once more he would push his way towards the fire... Crouching low and moving as quietly as he could.
The Sun has gone down! - Day 2 Second Ten-day, Month of Kythorn 1) It is about 7.15 pm or so - sunset is at 7.25 pm - as the party (Grin and Thromkor at least) starts to make their way down the slope 2) Which of the fires (see map in Post # 1420) is Grin heading for?
The bottom of the Valley 1)Grin and Thromkor pick their way down through the difficult terrain to the valley floor where Grin starts to move off to the fire on the southeast which is about 20 feet above the valley floor on the northern slope. 2)Currently Gotrek, Cole and Tibold are all standing (I think) where the path they were following entered the valley about 75 feet (vertically) and approximately 200 feet (horizontally) above the Valley floor (see map in discord)
(Grin will approach the southestern most campfire "the one next to 1 square = 10 feet)
As Grin sneaks his way towards the campfire, The shifter would occasionally look back over his shoulder with his slender claw-like finger to his lips "Quiet or they will hear us friend" Grin would say with a nervous smile before continuing towards his target.
The Bottom of the Valley - an update! 1) Grin can you please modify your character sheet - you are a long rest away from Lvl 5. By my records you should be on 16 HP as you shifted against the Hell Hounds. 2)Four of the five characters are at the bottom of the valley - are you following Grin. If so how far behind him?
It is also now getting dark and those without night vision can distinguish the fires and that's about it. Grin I need you to put up a fairly specific post exactly what your doing, how your approaching the fire (i.e. straight up the slope), etc.
Grin would push his way north, straight up the slope. As his eyes make out the outlines of tents around the fires, he would begin to circle around behind the tents on the eastern side, staying low to the ground and taking advantage of his dark vision to approach the tents from east.
Thromkor prepares to recreate the sound of a hell hound growling and snarling using thaumaturgy. He will use it to distract anyone he sees who might would hear them by creating the sound in another area (30 feet away, of course) to draw their attention away from the party.
Moving out of the base of the Valley 1)As the party reaches the valley floor and looks up across the sloped they can see six fires burning on the slope. Each of these is about 50-60 feet apart; although some are closer. Despite the fading light, the can see there are tents around each fire 2) Dominating the slope is a tall tower that is surrounded by scaffolding and appears to be under repair 3)Grin, followed by Thomkor (10 feet behind) and then Tibold and Cole or Cole and Tibold directly behind Thromkor with Gotrek bringing up the rear, be moves directly north across the valley floor heading towards the fire on the eastern side. As he reaches a point about 30 feet from the slope - and 60 feet from the fire - he is able to make out through his dark vision that there are two human figures sitting around the fire and off to one side is a bear. He then begins to circle around to the east. As Thromkor follows him onto the steepish slope and difficult ground he kicks a rock loose which rolls back onto Tibold's foot who inadvertently lets tout a gasp. 4) How close is Grin getting to the fire and the tents?

Grin has no trouble working out a safe way down to Valley Floor. It will be a bit of a scramble and slippery in places but nothing dangerous.

Thromkor limbs down, watching his step. When he sees Grin begin to approach more silently, he attempts to do the same.

( Are we coming from the south? if so I guess we will approach the southeastern fire. if from the north we will go straight to the one by the tower)

Tibold looks back uncertainly at Gotrek as he summons his spectral keyboard.
"Coming?" he asks as he follows the others, almost tip-toeing as he walks, the faint keys of his instrument barely visible...or so he thinks!

And that's all I have to say about that.

Gotrek just follows the group silently, keeping his eyes out for any signs of danger.

4) How close is Grin getting to the fire and the tents?
DM - Stopping a god in his tracks
Close enough to look and see if they appear to be bandits or cultists or mud sorcerer minons... basically he just wants to see if they are bad guys :D
At a distance of about 60 feet, Grin can see that the two humans sitting around the fire eating their evening meal appear to be druids.
DM - Stopping a god in his tracks
"looks like druids... didnt the guys at the bath house say something about druids?" Grin would whisper back over his shoulder towards his companions.
