Thromkor thanks Donall and limps over to Lord Merosska. "My Lord,"the dragonborn says, inclining his head politely. "I am called Thromkor. I'd like to thank you for your invitation to join you this evening. My associate and I were investigating four mysterious cairns a few miles south of here with this band we met only yesterday when we saw this tower and decided to pay a visit. This is quite a place. Being from Waterdeep myself, I am familiar with the Feathergale Knights, but had no idea you had such a sanctuary at your disposal."
Well met Thromkor, Merosska says. “As you know, our society has been in existence for nigh on ten years now, but we have only been here in Feathergale Spire for less than a 12 month. Prior to that we trained where we could.”
"My apologies, I am Gotrek son ofGurni." Gotrek says with a bow in return. "Where can I find these Black Earthers?"
"I don't know where to find them, my Lord might know however"Donall says."But if you do find them, give them a walloping for me will you"he finishes with. He says with a laugh "but don't hit them on the head - it wont do any damage, brains made of stone you know."
Gotrek chuckles, "I plan on giving them more than just a walloping, don't you worry. Many thanks my friend." Gotrek claps Donall on the shoulder and then heads over to the Lord Commander, "Good afternoon my lord, my name is Gotrek son of Gurni. I was told you might know where I can find the Black Earthers? We have some unfinished business."
Thromkor nods as the Lord speaks. "Well, I'm sure having a place to call your own is quite a balm." He twists a little on his feet as if casting about for something to say before holding up a finger as if remembering something. "Ah, I almost forgot the foremost reason for my intrusion upon your time. I was speaking with Sir Donell, and he happened to mention the crowd of unfortunates that his scouting party attempted to arrest from the grip of ... I believe he said bugbears and humans about five days ago. You see, my associate and I are agents of the library of Deneir. The library was to receive materials from a dwarf, which was part of a delegation that has gone missing. We've been on the road several days searching for the missing dwarf. Donell mentioned that you spirited away the lone rescuee. It is imperative we find the missing dwarf, and I was wondering if we might be able to ask the individual you rescued some questions."
Gotrek heads over to the Lord Commander, "Good afternoon my lord, my name is Gotrek son of Gurni. I was told you might know where I can find the Black Earthers? We have some unfinished business."
The Lord Commander says "the Feathergale Society always has unfinished business with Black Earthers and I will be more than happy to describe what I know of them after the feast but come now, sit up the food will be here soon."
Thromkor nods as the Lord speaks. "Well, I'm sure having a place to call your own is quite a balm."He twists a little on his feet as if casting about for something to say before holding up a finger as if remembering something. The Lord Commander says "thank you for your kind words. As to making the rescuee available, let me see what I can do?"
"Thank you so much," Thromkor nods again. He looks around the room. "I believe I'll take a seat." One more nod and Thromkor limps away, catching Tibold's eye with a "let's talk" kind of look.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Redleaf sits and the table and puts Cairn on the ground next to her and feeds her a ration as she listens to the others talk around her. She frowns when she hears Donnell and the Lord Commander say something and waits until she has a turn to speak.
When it seems the Lord Commander is finished with Gotrek and Thromkor, Redleaf asks simply. "Black Earthers? I thought the cult of Ogrémoch has been wiped out over 150 years ago. As well as the followers of Yan-C-Bin but what I'm hearing is your feud with Ogrémoch has started up again. That's grave indeed. How long ago did they show their faces around these parts? And if they are still around any idea where to find them? I sure don't like the fact that these guys are around again. I remember the last time they were walking the lands of Faeurun. It wasn't pretty indeed."

“Lady Savra, are you by chance related to the Belabranta family in Waterdeep? Are you the missing daughter they have been searching for? How did you come way out here to join the feather gale society?
“Yes, I am indeed from the Belabranta family. My grandfather, Lord Huld, rules the family and my father, Moedt, is his eldest son”, she says. She continues “about six months ago, my fiancé, a scion of the Zulpair family, had just been reported as lost at sea, and I was going through a bit of a bad time. My family breeds griffins you know and has always had close contacts with people such as my Lord Commander. He approached my grandfather and suggested I take a break from the City of Splendours and come here to Feathergale Spire.” She finishes with “missing, are you sure? My grandfather has always know where I was.”
Thromkor and Tibold sit and the dragonborn leans in, speaking sotto voce to the bard:
"First of all, did you see what the telescope was aimed at? The concealed door to a hidden chamber some leagues away? I happened to witness someone entering. I've made a note of the location. I'm not sure it has any bearing on our current mission, but just in case. And I'm not sure how much you heard from my conversations with Donall and Merosska, but they witnessed a group of captured individuals — who might be our missing party — being herded by bugbears and humans. They attempted to rescue the prisoners, but were only successful in saving one. Merosska has promised to make that individual available for questioning. Donall said the attempt happened two miles west of here and the bugbears and humans were heading south."
"Maybe it's important, maybe it's a broom closet, but good catch either way. I wonder why the telescope was pointed at it, though, if it's concealed...But yes, questioning this rescuee seems like as good of an idea as any."
I apologize my lady, maybe I misheard the rumors in the Lords Alliance. When was the last time you spoke to your mother or father or went home for a visit, they seem to very concerned about your whereabouts.

“Come now everybody sit up for the feast is about to begin”the Lord Commander says. He takes his place at the large chair on the east side of the table with his back to the tapestry covered wall. “You will sit here on my right next to me my lady” he says to Sirahane.“ Lady Sara you are next to her” he continues alternating a knight with a player character. “As a fellow warrior, you will sit on my left good dwarf” he says to Gotrek and “you will sit opposite me Madam dwarf”he says to Redleaf. He then arranges the others but for some unknown reason he puts Polly as far from him as he can on the other side of the table.
Just as the first course is served, at which Cairn clacks his mandibles with what you assume is excitement, and the Lord Commander is about to answer Redleaf’s question, the doors to the great hall fly open and a sentry from the pinnacle rushes into the room shouting, “Manticore! It’s on the move!”.
At this announcement the Feathergale Knights rise as one, the feast before them unfinished. “We should take this opportunity to slay the monster,”the Lord Commander says. "I can lend mounts to whoever wants to join my knights in this quest," he continues. From his finger he removes a feather-patterned golden ring set with a garnet and holds it aloft, saying, “A prize for the one who brings me the beast’s head! Those who want to join my knights in this quest should be up on the Pinnacle in 10 minutes." The knights break into two groups, four led by Sir Donall head downstairs and others (which includes the Lord Commander and the Lady Savra) head up to the Pinnacle.
I apologize my lady, maybe I misheard the rumors in the Lords Alliance. When was the last time you spoke to your mother or father or went home for a visit, they seem to very concerned about your whereabouts.
"I have not actually spoken to my parents since I came to Feathergale Spire, I had assumed my Grandfather told them I was here" Savra says. "But if you do speak to them please reassure them I am safe"she finishes with.
This is and other conversations will take place as the party is seating themselves for the feast.
As soon as the sentry mentions something to fight, Gotrek jumps out of his chair, the chair crashing to the ground. "Yes! I was getting bored of all these formalities, now a chance for some real fun!" Gotrek turns to the Lord Commander,"No offense of course my lord." With that he runs out the room, grabbing his Great-Axe on the way but then returns almost immediately, looking a bit embarrassed he says,"And where may I find the pinnacle?"
"Up," Thromkor says, getting to his feet and taking his ebony staff in hand once again. "Back the way we came." The dragonborn heads for the pinnacle, ushering the dwarf ahead of him.
