The Battle in the Scriptorium & adjacent areas – Round 5
OOC: to make it easier on me I am now combining a PM thread with the main thread. Please only respond to what your character sees. Grim in Round 6 you will be first to act and Ostara in Round 6 depending on what happens you will be eighth to act. However in this round you both effectively get a free action at the end – i.e. after I have posted.
Initiative: ?, Cole, Tibold & Gotrek [simultaneous], ?, ?, Thromkor, Sacred Stone Monk #8, Sacred Stone Monk #9, Quarbo, Black Earth Guard #1, ?, Black Earth Guard #2, Sacred Stone Monk #7 , Sacred Stone Monk #12
Cole uses his newfound freedom to spin and launch a kick at Sacred Stone Monk #7 inflicting 9 points of bludgeoning damage before getting up on the balls of his feet ready to dodge any return strikes.
Gotrek laughs at the attempt to be slowed again, and fueled by his rage turns to the other stone armoured guard and recklessly launches his one-two combo of a big swing followed by a knee to the midsection. The Great Axe slices into the Guard’s thigh inflicting 21 points of slashing damage which from the spurting blood has obviously cut the Guard’s femoral artery. Gotrek’s knee to guard’s midsection knocks him over and he bangs his head against the stone floor, taking a further 9 points of damage, it is not clear whether the blow to the head or exsanguination is the real cause of the Guard’s death.
Tibold says to Gotrek"a good strike, sir dwarf!" before glaring balefully at Sacred Stone Monk #9."4 against 4 is unfair odds for you with how you lot fight. You couldn't hit the side of a barn door!"The monk looks around in confusion for the barn door he apparently can’t hit.
Thromkor uses Tibold's bardic inspiration to stand and move back 10 feet, then uses his own movement to move back to K3. Limping backward, he raises a clawed hand at Sacred Stone Monk #7 and speaks a few words in Draconic. Numbing frost forms on its robes and across its gargoyle mask.
The collapse of the remaining stone armoured guard allows the monks to shift further into the room and another (Sacred Stone Monk #12) to make its way through the doorway.
Sacred Stone Monk #9 attempts to hit Cole with both a palm strike (First Attack: Attack: 13 Damage: 4) and a sweeping kick (Second Attack Attack: 14 Damage: 7 ) who valiantly attempts to dodge out of the way whilst keeping a wary eye out for Sacred Stone Monk 8 who launches a flying kick at Cole (First Attack @ disadvantage Attack: 7 Damage: 5) and then spins and attempts an elbow strike at Gotrek (Second Attack @ advantage Attack: 18 Damage: 7); half of which Gotrek shakes off because of his rage.
Meanwhile Quarbo not sure why or how the party members have managed to shrug off the effects of two Slow spells appears to decides discretion is the better part of valour and as he throws some a drop of bitumen and what appears to be a dried spider at Cole (the nearest party member) he scuttles up the wall and out through the door all the time yelling out “kill the despoilers of the Temple, don’t let them escape. I will be back!”
Sacred Stone Monk #7 now finds himself facing Gotrek and Tibold. He launches his first attack a Glaswegian Kiss [headbutt] at Gotrek (Attack: 13 Damage: 6), and his second attack, a foot stomp at Tibold, (Attack: 23 Damage: 4).
As Sacred Stone Monk #12 makes his way into the room he quickly assesses the situation it would appear and launches a flurry of attacks at the nimble Halfling (First Attack @ disadvantange: Attack: 17 Damage: 8) and (Second Attack @ disadvantage: Attack: 14 Damage: 6). Faced as he was with five attacks, Cole was unable to dodge out of the way of all them and a chopping blow from Sacred Stone Monk 12 into his neck drops him to the ground.
Grim and Ostara, you see a figure in what looks likes stone robes come through the door in the northeastern corner but unusually he is walking on the ceiling which is 12 feet high).
Grim and Ostara you’re up
Initiative for Round 6: Grim, ?, Cole, Tibold & Gotrek [simultaneous], Thromkor, Sacred Stone Monk #9, Sacred Stone Monk #8, ?, Ostara, Quarbo, Black Earth Guard #1, ?, Black Earth Guard #2, Sacred Stone Monk #12, Sacred Stone Monk #7
That is where I think you said you were going but if I’m wrong pls correct me. The guy is actually standing on the ceiling looking down at Grim. Both of you can be anywhere you like in that Entry Hall. He was getting the hell out of there and not really looking where he was going.
Ceiling is 12 feet high. The guy is human which makes him 5'8" but I don't know how tall Grim is; pertinent information missing from Character sheet! Depending on Grim's height dagger could be tricky but sword will be easy.
(Grin is 6ft tall so we are almost looking at eachother close to eye level lol! I always forget to fill out those details, I will have to add those later)
Grin, startled by the figure running on the ceiling will immediately attempt to thrust upward with both his rapier and his dagger. "What in the nine hells is this!" The shifter will say with a startled yell.

Ostara moves to Grum's side glares at the man Grim attacked, she's 6'3", and tries to pull him down to question him. She doesn't know who he is but he doesn't look like a like mud sorcerer to her and that's all she's interested in.
Grim watches as his companion attempts to tackle the figure from the ceiling before yelling "Get down from there!" Before swinging at the figure again while jumping towards the man, his leather jacket flapping behind him.
Tibold sways out of the way of the guard's blow before the warrior is dropped.
"A good strike, sir dwarf!" he exclaims, glaring balefully at Monk #9.
"4 against 4 is unfair odds for you with how you lot fight. You couldn't hit the side of a barn door!"
Vicious Mockery: DC 15 Wis save or 1 psychic damage and effects.
And that's all I have to say about that.
