Dawn breaks over Sapphire City, its light reflecting off the grand spires of the many temples, buildings, and other marvels of magic and engineering. At the heart of the city the Coliseum is quiet this morning, hours before any events are held but not far from the Coliseum at the temple of Bahamut, a large crowd is gathering at sunrise to get a glimps of the newly minted Paladins of Bahamut.
Inside the temple, both humans and dragonborn are scrambling to get everything ready for the initiation ceremony for new Paladins. "The path of righteousness is fraught with challenges. No wait, the challenges in life give way to righteousness. Yes that sounds much clearer." The high priest Raxas, a platinum dragon, prepares a speech for the new paladins. "With Bahamut's blessings, you shall bring justice to the unjust, protect the innocent, and vanquish the forces of evil that threaten our world." He ends his practice speech feeling confident in his message.
The temple of Bahamut is fortunate to have a wide following and is considered one of the more popular faiths throughout Vesper. The general consensus among faithful, and unfaithful alike, is that people appreciate the accessibility their tenants of faith require. Clergy of Bahamut practice no set rituals and they practice tolerance and understanding all races are welcome to their ranks. Their Paladins, often Lawful Good, can be of any alignment and revere any domain, creed, or ideals, so as long as they have unselfish intentions and service is their highest value.
Because the followers of Bahamut have no set rituals, when they host events that are open to the public, many people attends, but mostly because their Paladins are known for the mirror shine of their armors, it's too much for most people to keep away, the spectacle of brave new Paladins shining in the morning sun is a source of hope and pride to all people of the kingdom.
Soma Prime finds himself in the ranks of the initiates. His armor shined to near perfection, becomes nearly blinding as the sun rises and Raxas begins his speech. It's a surprisingly short speech and there is a series of deep chants of "Huzzah", cheers, and laughter as the ceremony ends.
Hours after all the people have gone, there are murmurings in the temple halls as Assignments are given to each and every initiate. "Soma Prime, you are stationed at the Far Outpost in Briarwood Village, two weeks travel by cart from here. Take these 20 platinum coins and buy supplies and horses or wagons for your journey. May the example of Bahamut be sufficient for us all."
For the first time Soma felt like he really belonged. Convinced he was doing what was truly right and just. Seeing the Great High Priest Raxas bestow his blessing upon him and he's fellow Paladins struck something deep within him. A powerful calm and conviction was felt deep to his very core that created connection to his god never before felt so right. The bestowing of the High Priests Raxas' word's of benediction sealed a new sense of conviction and purpose within him. 'Bring justice to the unjust and protect the innocent, vanquish the forces of evil' these words bonded him to his god Bahamut. I can do this he thought. I can truly really do this! He wanted to roar his feelings so joyous he felt. As he left the temple and was heading to his dorm for the last time. With both an element of sadness mixed with a new sense of purpose. One of his friends, Neelex a senior temple Brother sees him and hails him over. Soma didn't really want to waste time but he didn't want to cause offence either. "yes brother Neelex, greetings upon you". Neelex smiles towards Soma and continues to speak,"I hear the Master has tasked you to protect and serve Briarwood Village?" says he with some trepidation. 'Should I be concerned Brother?' returned Soma with confidence. 'No... No, just hold to your convictions and don't over do it, reach out back to the temple if things goes bad" and the last part of Brother Neelex's statement sees him rush away leaving Soma somewhat perplexed. "Bring justice to the unjust, protect the innocent and vanquish the forces of evil" Soma says agin quietly to himself. As he reaches his room and begins to pack.
Closing his dorm door for the last time Soma walks towards the entrance of the temple when loud noise could be heard coming from an angry Caravan Master voicing his displeasure for been let down. Soma approached the commotion and while the Caravan Master is clearly far from been placated his attention totally focused on the Temples Quartermaster. The Quartermaster sees Soma approach. "Yes, I understand Master Vidus, yes we have let you down but I believe I may have a viable option for you to consider". Vidus starts to calm down. "Master Soma, your timing is very impressive, I understand you are going to Briarwood Village as its new temple protector?" Soma feeling rather important walked right into the Quartermasters trap. "Well, yes I am Master Quartermaster, I'm on my way to organise my way to the Village". Vidus was quick to understand exactly what the Quartermaster had in mind and quickly jumped in with pomp and familiarity introducing himself to Soma. "Master Soma, I am on my way to Village Briarwood and I require a person to protect and support my caravan as it makes its way to the village, may I ask you to be its protector? I will pay you 20gps for doing so".Soma, realising what had happened took the request with good grace, smiled and held out his hand to Vidus and accepted the offer. While the quartermaster accepted the problem was no longer his walked away as quick as he could leaving Soma and Vidus to their task.
Vidus spends some time packing his caravan with food, drink, and a number of tools like axes, saws, shovels, anvils, and hammers. Once the wagon is full, he pats the driver's seat, signaling to Soma to sit up front. "I'm ready if you are. We have a long trip to get to Briarwood. Let's go."

HP check According to the posts in this thread, you've been hit for 4 damage and then for 7 damage. I don't see any other damage. You should still be alive (barely) with several options. Disengage, Breath Weapon, Lay On Hands, etc. I just checked your sheet says you have 5/12 hp but I think it should say 8/12, unless I'm missing 3 damage from somewhere
B1 and B2 see the Paladin and Dwarf defend against the other two bandits and they decide to run with what they can carry. "Let's get out of here, grab what you can and follow."
'Where did that come?' thinks Soma! Feeling very unwell, blood and gore allover the place. Soma comes too and seeing Vidus aim a heavy crossbow at a bandit as they attempt to attack him.
Soma casts Lay on Hands - on himself and receives 5hp back.
Not feeling great, Soma is at least back on deck. 'Vidus, you OK?' Not sure if he is, Soma Lays Hands on him and he receives 5hp back as well.

"Hey thanks for the healing. My name is Gralden, not Vidus. I'm the wagon master. These damn bandits ambushed us, they came out of nowhere. Keep searching, there's a family of four with kids here. And look," he points to the two bandits making their escape, "There getting away." he loads another crossbow bolt but looks to you for guidance and direction.
