Dar speaks up; "Then we'll have to set up barriers and warn the town. Isa, do what you do best and talk the ear off of everyone, warning them about this; wake them all. Someone go with her. Normand, you four run to the church and grab what you need to start fighting this thing.
Someone run over to the stables, get those boys riding back along this path to warn nearby homes and farms not to touch this stuff. We'll need Klandar and his apprentices awake to start building those barriers. Nathan and Shalech; you've done enough, rest up at my place." Dar looks around as people start rushing in all directions; trying to make sure he remembered everything that needed done.
Nathan nods to Dar, and heads towards the tower to rest. He looks really exhausted, and is visibly disturbed by what has transpired. After a few steps, he turns back to the others. "Before we go to rest, I think it would be wise to take a look at the magic items Master Dar has. Some of them need to spend a longer period with the user in order to be used properly. Here, these are the items Master Dar was nice enough to let us use."
[OOC: Nathan has found the following items: (2) Potions of Greater Healing, Medallion of Thoughts, Scroll (Find Steed), Boots of Striding and Springing, Ring of Water Walking, Potion of Animal Friendship, Bag of Holding, Bag of Tricks (gray), Staff of the Adder. Other than this, we have Isa's beans, the decanter of endless water, then the magic sword, the magic quarterstaff, a glowing rod in a case, and a pair of magical boots, which I think still need to be identified. I think Nathan would want to keep the decanter of endless water, and also take the Medallion of Thoughts, and maybe the Bag of Tricks, if that's all right with you.]
Kizori backs away from the goo, and ooze. "I don't know much about this kind of stuff. What can I do to help?" Kizori looks about to the others for guidance.
(While Nathan continues to where the goggles, he can see that the glowing rod, is actually just a normal, but ornate, rod with Continual Light cast on it. The sword held by Croak and the quarterstaff held by Kizori are both +1 weapons. The boots... are written down in the other room and I am currently pinned under a sleeping cat... and they have the ability to leave the footprints of different animals behind instead of your own.)
If somebody wants any of the items, Nathan gives it to them, the rest he just puts into the Bag of Holding, says goodbye, and unless somebody says something, he heads towards Dar's tower.
The boots would only give me the ability to jump my entire movement. It would be particularly useful for races with lower movement speeds, classes that wear heavy armor or a party mule that hauls all the gear and is often encumbered.
The ring of water walking is situational and can be put on when the need arises.
The Glowing Rod and Potion of Animal Friendship can be pulled out of the bag of holding when needed.
The other pair of boots that change your foot prints is something a thief would like, otherwise very situation-ally useful.
I wouldn't mind having one of the potions of healing, as I am squishy. The Bag of Tricks could be useful for me when out of options. However not having enough magic to even use cantrips is a special and unique situation that shouldn't happen that often.
I'm all for getting a long rest and moving the story forward.
Without being able to cast any spells, not even cantrips, Shalech is not much more than a commoner. He absolutely wants to rest up before being embroiled in any other events.
With Han's magical aid, several barriers are placed up around the tainted trail. Kizori found himself snagged up by Isa; who went on the entire time about previous times the town was threatened and how the wizards would always defeat them. You get the feeling that she is scared of what will happen tomorrow night. Urselles, you and the others gather up almost the entirety of the church's holy water; saving enough for defense if needed. You retrieve several holy objects and use these tools to begin fighting against the path. Bit by bit you begin blessing the town of Northbank; though you are only able to cleanse the area around Dar's tower and the path that Shalech led the undead.
Croak heads over to the stables and joins the boys in warning farmers of the dark trail. The smith's hammers ring late into the night and, by shortly after the mid of night, every part of the remaining trail in and around town is barricaded off. Nathan and Shalech sleep a good slumber, Shalech tucks in comfortably in Theodore's old room. Urselles is led to bed by Lura; as always, watching out for her friend. Kizori is exhausted by the night's end; having visited the homes of roughly five hundred people. The downstairs foldout couch is a welcome retreat. Croak, hopefully doesn't slumber eternally; for he did not return this night.
Those that can, dream. Nathan, you watch a stranger before you; walking towards you, step by step. You hear a drip, then another, drip by drip you slowly realize that the flesh of the man is falling off bit by bit. A wet trail is left behind him. He nears you, reaching out; about to grab... A force blast forth into the stranger; a mass of water shoots into him, washing him away.
You may now use the "Fountain" ability of the Decanter of Endless Water; please choose and message me the command word.
Kizori; you hold in your hand a staff, but it is not your hand. Not your body. A moment later it changes, a young girl this time; though she ages quickly and is gone. Then another, you feel this one was struck down in combat; he didn't age as long. Then another, and another. Time and again and again, and then... you.
The quarterstaff is a +1 weapon. Enjoy :)
Shalech and Urselles have surprisingly pleasant dreams; one no longer tormented by a cursed book, the other wrapped close in a friend's arms. Morning comes, and Croak is not there.
Shalech wakes and loiters around the tower's main floor, waiting for the others to gather. Going to find a wizard's tower in the woods is not what he thought he'd be doing with his life...
Urselles wakes up at the temple remembering the last day, there was something she had to that she didn’t last night, she silently light her incense inside the burner and started her prayer to Eldath “Dear god of peace, recently I was forced to enter battle. While it is against your teachings to use weapons unnecessarily you still choose to grant me one if ever needed, and I felt that I needed to as these foes where Undead monsters. I hope you can agree with my choice” After her prayer Urselles gets up and looks to see if anyone else around the church is awake
Kizori wakes with a start, his head reeling from the dream. He readies his equipment, pulls on his loin cloth, noting, "I don't know why humans are so obsessed with clothes." He chuckles to himself, "Silly humans." He then heads back out to town, his new quarterstaff in hand, he heads off to find the others, "I hope the magic man let's me keep this." He chuckles while examining his new staff.
Nathan wakes up, finds the others, says good morning to everyone, and tells them about his dream. He also asks Dar: "Master Dar, do I correctly assume that holy water hurts these unholy creatures? Because if this is true, I will ask Urselles or some other priest to bless this decanter, and it could be used as a weapon against them undead!"
Shalech, you are the first to arrive on the main floor of the tower; though it isn't long before you hear the familiar thud of Dar's metal leg. Soon after Dar comes up from downstairs; though you are unsure on how many floors down this tower goes. Han walks up the stairs soon after, wearing what looks like one of Dar's pajamas.
Kizori strolls into the tower from... somewhere... and soon after Nathan rushes downstairs, telling everyone about his dream. In response to his question, Dar replies; "Might work. Normand would be the one to ask though."
Urselles, you close your eyes and pray, and then you hear; "Child, the dead can't feel peace if they still walk the earth. You harm nothing but a shell, forcing it's spirit to walk; tainted by the necromancy that spawned them."
Your prayer is interrupted by a loud and approaching rattle of metal. You turn around and see Lura walking towards you, holding what looks like a pile of chains. With a flourish, she unrolls them, revealing a small chainshirt. "It was mine when I first started my training to become a paladin. Thought it would fit." She says with a smile, before rushing over to you; holding it infront of you. "Yeah, that looks like it will fit; do you want to try it on?"
Kizori was still examining the staff when Nathan came down the stairs, "Hullo!" Before turning to Dar, "I borrowed this, I was wondering if I could keep borrowing it a bit longer..." Kizori twirls it a bit, before holding it out to Dar, "If not, here you go sir!"

Sidenote; I hope the jar of beans is still inside, not out here being shaken around. Lol)
I can do a rough sum up of the remaining night's activities, if we seek to advance towards morning. I can sum it up pretty easily if you all wish.

The same goes for Nathan he really wants to rest.
