It will only take a candlemark to find in my hoard. Krack and I will be back in time for you to take it with you. Barakas knows a fast route across the hills that leads straight to the Observatory with a minimal amount of kobold guards. It is time to share my secret I have been guardian here for over 800 years, and have rescued the tomes in the library from the damaged main tower of the Observatory. With Sparkrender gone we can continue our work in keeping the old grimoires and histories safe. I am a dragon, to be precise a Bronze dragon sworn to Bahamut. See...
The party looks on in awe as Runara walks to the sloping window and changes from an old elf into a Bronze dragon. Her scales are bright with some silver showing her age. She turns and speaks again to Krack. Here just behind my neck you can tuck your legs behind the scale ruff and hold on tight. I'll take you on a short tour around the island avoiding Sparkrender with my magic, we shall be invisible. If you wish I could carry Beans in my talons but I fear it would be too uncomfortable for him. Come and climb up!
The little kobold stands, staring up at the large Bronze dragon, his face a mixture of awe and terror. He is glad there was nothing in his hands, as he would have dropped it.
"B... B... Be... Beans" he finally gets out, "Wa... Wait for me here!"
He approaches the great Wyrm slowly, carefully. While he knows that Runara will not hurt him, it's hard not to worry she may step on him accidently, squishing him.
Krack climbs up the dragon, gently, but quite dexterously as well. Once he gets up to her neck, he does as she instructed and tucks his legs in.
He looks at the others gathered there, his face now full of wonder, the fear gone. Then he smiles, a big smile full of small teeth and begins to laugh.
With Krack securely aboard, Runara stepped of of the window sill with wings powerfully extended. They dived down until her front legs touched the waves, then spiralled up again. She turned and flew across the Island, showing him the footpaths below. Krack would remember the way. There were fires being put out along the route, kobolds settling in for a sleep. Across the rocks they flew until Krack called out in startlement, the Compass Rose wreck had gone! Turning back along the coastal path she took him out to sea then dived towards a large rock formation. It was enchanted to hide a wide cavern. They had reached the hoard.
We're here Krack. Will you help me look for the key? It is in a small sandalwood box about the size of a dinner plate. I last saw it a hundred years ago, I don't need it myself. She changed back into elven form and began to search for the small box.
Krack follows Runara through her treasures, stopping to admire the bronze armour on a stand, it looked elvish in style. He tripped over the fallen helmet and as he bent to retrieve it he looked sideways and saw a small chest. It smelt of sandalwood. He grabs it quickly and holds it aloft.
She turned towards Krack and on seeing the box he held up, she smiled. That will do nicely. Make sure the key is still inside leaving Krack to open the box. Inside is a hex key carved in pure moonstone, he could see something very much like lightning alive in its depths. It was mesmerising Krack. He lost the sense of time. Moments later Runara seeing his predicament shut the lid, leaving him with the box. She bent down and picked up the helmet that had fallen and put it on the top of the armour stand, her fingers brushing against it as she let out a deep sigh.
Yes it is my armour, I fought with the elves as my friends in the war against the Chromatic dragons over 900 years ago. Even with their long lives so few of them remain.
Adiron is a young bronze dragon wyrmling, he grew up with tales of dragon wars and battle. He came here to take Paladins oath to Bahamut. We argued about Sparkrender, he wanted the blue dragon dead. Now he lies as a prisoner. He will appear to you either as a young wyrmling or a young elf lord. I beg of you to free him if you can.
Now we must head back to the Temple, your friends await you as does Beans. The direct route this time.
With that Runara changed back into her dragon form and encouraged Krack to mount. She took the direct route to the Temple skimming just above the waves, then she climbed and made her way through the the large Temple overhang.
The little kobold climbs down off the dragon, and tries to keep his cool, but he keeps looking at Beans and giving exaggerated winks and smiles.
Finally he looks at the others, "Uh, so we got the key! We should get ready, gather our things and head to the Observatory, we have a dragon to rescue!" he says the last part louder.
Looking at Barakas, "Do you know the best way to the Observatory?"
"Oh, by the way, that haunted boat, the Compass Rose... It's Gone!"
He goes back to his room before heading out. He picks up he robe, and holds it agains him. Before leaving to the outside, he goes to sanctuary where he usually asked for guidance.
"I'm sorry to come in again. I know i mean nothing to you but....I'm going there to help save others. I don't know what awaits us, and part of me just wants to help avenge Myla and others like her. I'm scared I might end up murdering her brothers or others who speak ill of others. So please, I ask for you forgiveness in advance and if someone has to die, please make it me."
If nothing happens, he then leaves to the outside to meet the others.

Seeing Runara's transformation seeing her as she truly is, envelops Theodor with emotion. A tears begin to form in his eyes, but hastily wiped away.
