“Don’t worry dear, we’ll definitely look for your husband. But first we have to get you and your children out of here safely. It’s not far to town, and you’ll be safe there while we deal with the Redbrands here.” While she’s talking, she’ll cast mending on the family’s clothes until they are as fixed as possible. (Going over to the Redbrand, did he have anything else on him besides the keys?)
Tears in the children's clothing magically mend together, appearing as if the fabric melts together. A tear in Mirna's sleave does the same. They are grateful for the repair as they do not seem to have much in the way of money to afford the niceties. Another look over the slain Redbrand you remove a gold ring from his finger. You can see the gold ring has a few runes carved on each side, as well as a very basic carving of a single eye. Inside his pocket is a potion of healing.
OOC Yuri votes with Vah'Lhorn's plan, get the family out of here and back to town then continue the search for Iarno.
"It is odd that we would not find Iarno here with the other prisoners. Mirna, was a man kept here with you as well?"
Yuri tries to recall what information Sildar gave them concerning Iarno, a description, a distinguishing feature, but nothing comes to mind save his name

"His name is Iarno."
Mirna says, "No, there hasn't been any others in here and I haven't seen anyone other than Redbrands. We were taken in the middle of the night 2 nights prior. I'm sorry I can't offer more information. Is this Iarno a friend of yours?"
Yuri shakes his head, "He is not known to any of us. We were set to meet him, but he was not in town. His room at the inn was empty. He was last seen walking towards this very manor."
Letting his hand rest on the pommel of his sword, he continues.
"Knowing there was nowhere beyond the manor, and knowing the Redbrands themselves, we think he is here, held captive also."
"You raise a good point Yuri. Though I can add nothing to it... I am most recently in town, and Sildar said only that Iarno and my companions would be found here. From the way he described the situation, it did give me the impression that Iarno would have come afoul of the Redbrands. Hopefully he did not encounter the beast in the cavern and run afoul of it's hunger."
Kim starts calming down seeing the clothes repair on the family. Her clothes amulet, hair and eyes all return to their normal color again. She walks up to the children and kneels down to speak with them, "Don't worry any more. We will get you back home soon." A smile flashed across her face.
She stands up and walks to the group. "So it seems we agree. Get this family home, then fix this whole place. Do we all want to escort them, or do we divide our forces? A team to return them home to resupply and a team to do more recon here?"
"A dividing of forces seems most sensible to me. One or two to return Mirna's family safe, and the rest to stay and keep watch on the movements here. Those who remain can take a short rest and further determine how to progress through this place."
Gramgran, when you take the ring off the Redbrands finger, you notice a slight magical energy emanating from it. Someone proficient in arcana may be able to tell you something about it.
Sounds like Yuri and Kim want to escort the family back.
Van'Lhorn wishes to stay nearby.
Morpetor and Gramgran?
The trip to the city and back should only take about a few hours, but the sun is beginning to set now. By the time everyone gets back to the Manor, it would be around 9 or 10 depending on how long everyone spent in the town. The grounds of the Manor are on a plateau which has been cleared of most of the vegetation. There are a few trees on the grounds, but really nowhere to hide outside of the Manor for a long time. You are unsure if there are patrols around the grounds.
Morpetor takes ahold of the ring from Gramgran to inspect the ring. Based on the runes and the eye, you can tell it is a Ring of Truth Telling. Morpetor hands the ring back to Gramgran after his inspection.
Ring of Truth Telling
Requires attunement
While wearing this ring, you have advantage on Wisdom (Insight) checks to determine whether someone is lying to you.
This has been added to your inventory Gramgran unless you want to pass it off to someone else.
((Based on the return trip time, I'd say 2 people head off to town, 3 stay, just to keep track of the goings on and hopefully be able to see if there are any patrols or attempts to flee the manor. I'd be happy for Kyle to parse over the actual time unless something actually happens))
((However, I'm not entirely sure what we'll achieve as far as gameplay goes in the split - seems unlikely we want to progress into new areas with a partial party, but exploring the areas we have already been through in depth might be worth the time.
Does anyone actually get any benefit from a short rest other than me?))
((Morpetor, Vah'Lhorn and one other stay then? Take a short rest, then explore a bit... There might be more to the route that Mirna came in on.))
((@Holy, I am down for any RP, just conscious that neither side is likely do much progression to the story without the other. Unless back in tow we catch up with Sildar or get some other lead on Iarno?))
OOC Iarno seems to have kept a low profile in town. Other than being last seen here there wasn't much to go on. I'm ok to keep going but refreshed casters sound good.

(OOC how far away is the town from the manor?)
Only about an hour walk. Also, are you going to take the ring and potion?

OOC - a short rest would give me back a couple of spell slots
OOC- I just enjoy the narrative of the party having multiple task. We don't even have to spend the actual time and dialog.
