Bleeding profusely from the shortsword wounds, the Red cultist falls to the ground as well.
Seeing his falling comrades, the final kobold rushes forwards, stabbing at Big Teeth with his dagger (Attack: 10 Damage: 3) The purple robed figure calls into the cave in draconic before rushing forward, slashing with his scimitar at Big Teeth (Attack: 20 Damage: 12), before taking another Slash at Otto on the other side of him (Attack: 22 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.)
From inside the cave, another three kobolds appear: one blue, one a dark brown, and a final one red with black stripes.
The last kobold's dagger finds a gap in Big Teeth's armor and opens up a gash in his side. As he winces from the dagger, twisting his body, his shield happens to spin into the scimitar held by the purple robed figure, blocking the blade, but the dwarf is fighting on fumes. Otto is not so lucky, however, as the scimitar connects, slashing into his leg.
For reference: Big Teeth is at 2/12 HP and Otto is at 5/13
The third triplet, seeing his brothers struck by blades, takes a step back and to his left, aiming his crossbow at the kobold between his two brothers and says, "Hey! Over here!" As the reptilian creature turns toward the sound, Spike pulls the trigger, firing a crossbow bolt at the kobold.
Attack: 4 Damage: 7
Unfortunately he trips on a root just as he his pulling the trigger, and the bolt sails off into the trees.
At the top of the round, one more tree catches fire and smoke spreads out from the burning trees, creating an obscured area. Also, Otto should have taken another 9 damage, since the bonus that made the damage so high applies to the first attack that hits. I'll separate the bonus out on the next turn. Edit: Actually, since that was a high roll anyway, try 6 on for size.
Round 2
Skiaceq Urd R (Dead) Red Lefty Blue Kobold Cultist Red (Dead) Kobold 5 (Dead) Kobold 6 (Dead) Delores Cultist Blue (Bloodied) Eadyan Otto (Unconscious) Kobold 1 (Dead) Kobold 4 (Dead) Big Teeth Brown Kobold Kobold 2 Big Boss Cultist Black (Dead) Red/Black Kobold Spike
A sense of desperation creeps into Skiaceq as he sees Otto drop to his knees from a horrific blow. He scans the battle again; things are about to turn ugly. "Eadyan!" he caws, "With me on the leader! Archers, bring down the reinforcements!" After slashing at the kobold before him, Skiaceq moves in to support Big Teeth, wishing for one of Darvin's pep talks.
Taking down the Kobold in a single blow, Skiaceq continues pushing forward and kicks the Dragonclaw. His form was off, lessening the power of the blow, but it hit perfectly in the cultists center mass. The dragonclaw glowers down, barely phased by the attack.
Red and Lefty are up, followed by the Blue Kobold and then Delores.
The Blue Kobold readies his sling and launches it toward Skiaceq (or Lefty if targeted by him) (Attack: 23 Damage: 3, Advantage if Skiaceq: 23)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Red moves up next to Skiaceq and takes Ottos' place, attacking the enemy leader with his longsword! Attack: 20 Damage: 4
Lefty lines up an arrow at the blue-hooded cultist standing almost directly in front of him, hoping to drop another enemy combatant. Attack: 12 Damage: 7
Delores takes a step up between the trees and will shoot at a different target than her friend this time, lining up her arrow to hit the blue-tinged kobold. Attack: 15 Damage: 5
Eadyne runs up to the red and black striped lizard screaming "Here lizard lizard lizard!" It turns around to see Eadyne right behind it as he thrusts the club directly through it, piercing it apparently bloodlessly. Eadyne gives a victorious smile, and with an indecipherable word, a green flame envelopes the goblin, instantly burning its body to cinders before jumping to the goblin next to it, who screams in pain before falling to the ground still burning. (Attack: 23 Damage: 19, Fire damage to brown goblin: 8)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OoC: Is the blue (oyster?) cultist still up? I was guessing not given that it was already bloodied and then Lefty did another 3 damage, but if so Big Teeth will attack them instead of the big boss, and I will edit the text below.
Death save for Otto (0 and 0): 8
As the scimitar-wielding figure knocks his brother unconscious with a wicked grin, Big Teeth cries out "NO!", and summoning what little strength he can muster given the severity of his wounds, thrusts his shortsword into the robes of the dragonclaw, hoping to find flesh.
Attack: 22 Damage: 2
The masked cultist tries to dodge the attack, but the sheer rage powering the near-dead dwarf propels his blade into the man's abdomen before he can get out of the way. As he slowly collapses to the ground, an increasing share of his purple robes being claimed by red, those nearby can hear him gasping, "I am but a pawn. Queen Tiamat will have her revenge. I do not envy you..." as the life leaves his eyes, the dwarf's blade still embedded in his flesh.
Wide-eyed, Big Teeth retracts his blade and looks around at the carnage in the quieting forest. Somehow, against all odds, the adventurer, the cleric, and the brave band of guards had emerged not only victorious but, with the exception of the fallen Otto and Big Teeth's own wounds, nearly unscathed. Big Teeth had never had much use for the gods, but vows to pay a visit to the temple of Chauntea and make an offering to the goddess if the town survived the invasion.
Suddenly remembering that the cleric had joined them, and seeing his brother draw breath on the ground, he approaches Eadyn and pleads that he revive Otto before he expires.

"I'm out of spells," Eadyan says, his words ringing noticeably hollow, "But give me a moment and I'll get him stabilized." Walking over to Otto, he looks him over. Ripping a bit of Ottos clothes, he wraps the bleeding scimitar wound with the cloth. (Medicine: 5) "The bleeding isn't stopping. Skiaceq, can you give me a hand here?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The priest's words give Skiaceq pause. Before complying, he takes a moment to read Eadyan's expression while trying to keep his own neutral. "Right." Urgently kneeling, Skiaceq wishes Valji were here to help cauterize the wound. His first-aid experience was limited to basic survival techniques, but he scans the wound to ascertain its severity. The makeshift tourniquet is below the wound instead of above... While retying the tourniquet in its correct position, Skiaceq casts a wary glance at Eadyan when he's certain the man won't notice. 'Is he even a priest?'
"I'm no more confident in my first aid," Skiaceq says to the guards gathered around Otto. "The lot of you best take a look. Maybe you can do more."
Slipping away, he chokes down a sense of guilt. Since the gleam of that scimitar met his eyes, the urge has grown moment by moment. Prying it from the Dragonclaw's still-warm grasp takes some effort. Skiaceq tests its heft, telling himself that it isn't entirely unselfish if he checks the blade for poisons. After wiping the blood with his tunic with a cloth from his pouch, he slips the sword under his belt, making a note to purchase a new scabbard.
The scimitar feels a little strange in Skiaceqs hand, as he's never trained with one before, but the balance feels excellent, and he thinks he might get better with it given the opportunity. Something is bothering him about Eadyan's demeaner... Chauntea is a goddess of Life and Nature, but Eadyan seemed to revel in killing, wanting to see the look of fear in his enemies eyes. Looking in the distance, Skiaceq sees the encroaching flames, wondering what Lissandra would think about Eadyan setting fire to the forest in order to kill enemies he could have routed easily... and there was something about the way he handles his club...

Casting another look over his shoulder, Skiaceq sincerely hopes Otto's brothers can do something for him. In the meantime, he begins blasting the burning brushfire with his wings. If allowed to spread, this fire could do a lot of damage to the city. He considers asking the guards to bring water with their helms, but decides to attempt solving the problem himself first. They have enough to worry about for the moment.
Having done all he can for now, Skiaceq returns and lightly guides Lefty a short distance from the group before speaking quietly. "Eadyan's behavior is strange to me. Has anyone in town witnessed him performing healing magic?"

Death save after first failed attempt (1 and 0): 15
Still stunned by the events transpiring around him, Big Teeth lacked the presence of mind to assist the cleric in stabilizing his brother, standing frozen in place while Eadyan attempted and failed to stop the bleeding, followed by the same from the bird man, and then another failed attempt by the priest. Finally when the adventurer called out for the guards to help out, he was the first one in. He just hoped his rudimentary first aid training was up to the task.
But Big Teeth's hands were shaking too much, and he couldn't seem to get the bandage properly in place. Spike pushed his way in, "Here, let me try!" he said, taking the supplies from his brother's hands.
Medicine (Spike): 3
Spike's attempt seems to work, and he gets the bandage in place around Otto's wound tightly enough that it stops the bleeding. He appears stable for now. He has already lost a lot of blood, however, and it will take time before he wakes up.

OoC: Of course, I get a high roll when we don't want it.
Skiaceq tribbles in relief as he returns to the group. He tries to think of what to say, but no words feel adequate. The weight of Otto’s brush with death affixes to his shoulders.
To Spike and Big Teeth, he offers a look of sympathy, but he can’t be sure it conveys more than guilt. “Carry your brother to the cave and keep watch.”
Then he addresses the group. “The rest of you, helms ready—carry water to put out the last of the fires before the smoke draws attention. Then join Spike and Big Teeth at the cave. Everyone, eyes open. We are exposed and have no healing.”
Expression firm, he then turns to Eadyan. “Stay with Otto. How long before you can use magic again?”
Eadyan thinks for a second. "My powers are granted by a higher power. Some of my magic will be available to me soon, but it will be at least morning until I will be able to use magic to heal." He eyes further into the cave with some urgency.
Skiaceq pops his beak in consternation. He follows Eadyan’s gaze to the cave, trying to form a plan. Outing the so-called priest’s true aim isn’t an immediate matter; it’s only necessary to collect the artifact with no casualties. If Eadyan betrays them to the cultists...
‘No, I’m getting ahead of myself,’ he thinks. ‘The answer is simple.’
”You all remain here. Put out the fire and guard the entrance, but most importantly stay safe. I will join the others and bring a cleric. You,” he says to Eadyan, “come with me. We’re going in. Move quickly, we can’t linger too long.”
Skiaceq allows the priest to take the lead into the cave, bracing himself to face his phobia.

Lefty, Red and Delores quickly move to either douse the flames or hack the underbrush away to help prevent the flames from spreading. As they work, Lefty consults with Delores about the chanced of it raining soon.
Working together, Lefty, Red, and Delores manage to capably head off the flames, clearing brush around what they weren't able to put out before heading back to the cave to keep watch per their orders. Delores, always the more capable weather person, tells Lefty that it isn't going to rain soon, but she feels a thunderstorm will be heading in later this afternoon... clouds are threatening in the distance.
Skiaceq and Eadyan make their way towards the far south cave entrance. Skiaceq should roll a Survival check at disadvantage . 15-20 will arrive at the cave entrance in 10 minutes, 10-15 in 20, 5-10 in 30, and less than 5 in an hour. Tell a story about Skiaceq's journey through the cave south through the abandoned kobold tunnels. Did you get turned around through the labyrinthine passages? Come across traps, old and decrepit or still viable? Eadyan doesn't act suspiciously during this trip, and seems relieved that he's not being left at the cave mouth.
At around this same time, Lissandra, Valji, and Darvin are arriving at the hills to the south, where they believe the other entrance to be. Most of the terrain is fairly grassy hills, occasionally broken by various rocks and crevices. To the north, smoke rises from the forest where Skiaceq and the others were fighting. Make your choice of a Survival or Investigation to find the entrance. Lissandra will assist with Survival checks.
Bleeding profusely from the shortsword wounds, the Red cultist falls to the ground as well.
