Elias's cheeks take on a little reddish hue as Khessa talks, yeah, yes, that'd be great! Just let me know when you're ready, uh available and I'll be right in.
Brother Rayhad finished his delicious meal and didn't mind the 'spicy fish stuff' with his friends and enthusiastically endorse the plan they were going to enact. Continued to enjoy the atmosphere of the tavern, the music was grand and the coming and going of people always catches Raynior's interest. As it did this night and when he came to he noticed everyone had left.... "Bathhouse hmmmmm" he wondered. "Ohh well"he says to no one in particular. I might move myself to the Bar to get a better view of things and talk to the nice bar staff, they always have good story's!
Raynoir moves himself to the Bar area in the Elfsong Tavern and sits at the bar and talks a way!
When RAYNOIR sits at the bar Alan asks, "Is there anything that I can get you?"
Later the Half-Elf will start making conversation with the Dragonborn, "I saw that you put the pirate's body down in the sewers. You know with Ravengard out of the way, who’ll be the next grand duke, I wonder? My money’s on Thalamra Vanthampur. Practically born in the sewers, she was, and more vicious than a swarm of rats. At least, that is what I hear.”
Khessa relaxes for a while at the bar with Raynoir, puzzled at the mention of a 'grand duke' right after the mention of 'sewers'. Are the two topics connected? Or is Alan just jumping from topic to topic? She pays attention, without letting it show, to the dragonborn's expression, to see if he seems to be able to understand the connection that she is missing - and continues to enjoy the company and conversation anyway.
Before the sun sets, however, the blonde arcane warrior decides to use the sunlight to study magic a little more... since she has the opportunity to do so with a mentor as competent as he is kind! She invites Elias to the room he so selflessly offered her for another joint session.
Khessa finds Elias exploring the upgraded room, hey! Look at this place! This room is huge! Four times the size if my room back home. he runs to a door and opens it, it's even got a separate meeting room. He steps to the bed, jumping up in the air and diving on it, and this bed is so big and soo soft. He pauses, looks up at her standing in the doorway...embarrassment playing across his face, he sets up on the edge of the bed, then stands. my apologies, I've just never had a place this nice on my own. Guess I got a little carried away. He smiles at her, takes his spell book in his hand, cast mage hand and directs it to start packing things into his backpack, then he places his spell book in the mage hand, it floats in the air next to as he picks up his back, turning back to the striking blonde figure before him, shall we? as the walk to her room he'll knod at his friends setting around the gaming tables. Addressing Khessa as they enter her room, today lets have a look at how to add spells to your spell book, shall we?
Khessa relaxes for a while at the bar with Raynoir, puzzled at the mention of a 'grand duke' right after the mention of 'sewers'. Are the two topics connected?
(Indirectly, with the mostly well-liked Grand Duke Ravengard missing. It is on most everyone's mind. This is not the first body that has been stuffed in the sewers behind the Elfsong Tavern. And it is well known that one of the City's Dukes Thalamra Vanthampur started her career working in the sewers.)
RAYNOIR, Ponders the question the Bar-person Alan poses, "What can I get?, many of the items are stored in fancy colourful bottles and one stands out its bright purple with what looks like red slightly shimmering liquid..... "Alan I think that one up there will do me", Ray has no alcohol tasting or and very limited experience!
As Alan sorts his drink out he continues, "Oh my Alan, what a title Grand Duke, I hear Ravengard was a descent person, and found in the sewers how undignifying, well the Company I am with I reckon will know what all this means and how best to handle it, their incredibly component just look at Khessa!"
A short, grubby, and (frankly speaking) stinky halfling moves from one of the tables to sit at the bar. It was time for a strong drink since her and her fellow guild members were out of ideas for how to solve her problem. They were all sympathetic to Rosebud's plight and all pleased not to be in her boots since they, like her, were only recently allowed into the guild so had little reputation or money to fall back on. The situation Rosebud finds herself in is that she has been having a problem with one client's garden. It wasn't a large garden but then again, no garden in the walls could ever be substantial. But the client was on the best of days particular to the point of being unreasonable and the client was getting darn near close to hyperventilating and violent with everything in the garden dying. Yes, yes, yes, I know brown is a bad color for a flower but damned if I know why it is that color or what to do about it, she mutters to herself as she sits at the bar near Raynoir. Addressing the barkeep, You see that bottle up there, the one that has steam coming out of it? One of those please and be ready to call a healer.
Alan will look at RAYNOIR,“That will be a silver piece." He pops the cork and pours the contents into a wooden mug. It creates a bubbling reddish foam. The bartender then turns away with a brief blue flash and hands a now frosted wooden mug to the Dragonborn Cleric. The content is sweet with a hint of spices. You will not detect any alcohol in this drink. Most find it refreshing.
When the matter of sewers is responded to Alan says, “Oh no, no. Apologies for my musings. It was your Pirate friend that went into the sewers. It would not surprise me if Grand Duke Ravengard had ever even been in Baldur’s Gate’s sewers. Now Duke Vanthampur, that is another matter. As told by many, she worked in the sewers for years, then became head of the Public Works, and later Duke. Many believe she will be the next Grand Duke. Like your headless Pirate friend, Duke Vanthampur is familiar with the sewers.”
A way too cute, but stinky HALFLING sits next to RAYNOIR at the bar. One of the Patrons gives it a sniff and leaves the bar for a seat at one of the tables.
The bartender looks at the HALFLINGwhen she points to the bottle with steam coming out it, “Are you sure?” He pours some of the contents into a small wooden cup. “That will be two silvers.” It is clear with smoke coming off of it like it had been boiling on a fiery stove. It is strong. Very strong. Whiskey is like milk next to this.
(If ROSEBUD drinks the contents, please make a CON SAVE roll.)
'Ah, but of course, silly me!' Khessa barely restrains herself from facepalming 'The two topic are indeed connected, albeit indirectly. The mostly well-liked Grand Duke Ravengard is missing and it is on most everyone's mind. This is not the first body that has been stuffed in the sewers behind the Elfsong Tavern! And it is well known that one of the City's Dukes, Thalamra Vanthampur, started her career working in the sewers. I didn't remember that right away because, deep down, I don't care much about so-called important people... it's the common folk that interests me, above all!'
Hearing herself being praised so much by Raynard, the blonde arcane warrior first blushes slightly, then laughs heartily, patting the silver scaled shoulder of the dragonborn: "You are very kind, Raynard, but without your assistance I would probably have been sliced to pieces by a certain pirate captain!"
As the tall adventuress is about to go study with Elias, she notices the arrival of the short, grubby, and (frankly speaking) stinky halfling. With that appearance, the halfling could probably easily go unnoticed... Could he have a role in the trap the party is setting? "Raynard..." she murmurs "you're good with words... Do you care to find out if this seemingly dejected halfling might decide to help us - either because of his high ideals or to share in the eventual reward?"
[[ OOC: Yes, I know, not too plausible - but I can't think of anything better, at the moment, to have the newcomer join the group... ]]
Khessa, reaching Elias, laughs heartily at his reaction: "I understand you... It's a bigger room than the little house I lived in with my father, mother and four siblings!"
"How to add spells to the spellbook?!" the blonde arcane warrior is enthusiastic "That's a great choice, Elias! Having many spells in the spellbook is like having many weapons... you can more easily choose the most suitable one for the situation at hand!"
She slides a gold coin over and says to the bar keep, I do need the change and pockets the silvers that come her way into an empty pocket. Rosebud raises an eyebrow at the steaming mix now in front of her and addresses the patrons still near her. I couldn't help but hear you talking about sewers. Last time I had one of these, I woke up in one with a rat the size of that flask nibbling on my leg. Don't remember how I got there and don't recommend going there. She pauses for a bit, seemingly intent on watching the smoke rising from the drink. Didn't wait much before I transformed into a goat, ate some garbage and got out of there. Wish I knew where that sewer was. Think I left something valuable there. Know that the only thing valuable I have now is my mule. Why you interested in sewers? It is only due to significant practice at drinking significant amounts of alcohol that prevents her words from being slurred from the multiple hours of "consulting" she had been doing at the tavern. She continues to focus on the steam coming from the drink.
Elias and Khessa get settled in her room, I'll cast comprehend language as a ritual, will take about ten minutes, and, if she will allow, flip through her spell book looking for a spell, Ah, here, Disguise Self, let's use it as an example since I don't have it in my book. The mage hand will set my spell book down and as the book opens it's self and flips to the next bank page, Elias will summon his Wizardly Quill to his hand, looking at Khessa, what's your favorite color? When she tells him, he mutters the color to the quill and begins to write the header for this spell. As the ink flows from the quill to the page it's in the color she chose. As we adventure we will often run across spell books, either belonging to foes we've vanquished or once belonging to victims of said foe. We can attempt to copy the spells from that spell book into our own spell book and making them available to use for future use...Elias will review the details of doing as he was taught by his master and he his master before him and so on. The process takes just over an hour and would normally have taken research, materials and time studying the arcane formula for casting the spell. He goes on to explain that a good wizard is either independently wealthy, has a wealthy patron - such is the case with my master, or spends a considerable about of time adventuring and looting inorder to have the funds available to spend on spell research.
Raynoir notices the halfing siting next to him ... rather close to him actually .... he turns towards her and says, "Hello, my name is Raynoir, my friends call me Ray some even Brother Ray, you can call me Ray if you like, and it looks like you have had a rough time of it.... Im a very good listener, are you hungry?
Seeing the Halfing direct the Bar person to a bottle that is .... steaming...? "That can't be good?" and says quickly, "Ohhh and Im a healer too...." and waits to see what happens next!
The barkeep puts an Electrum and three Silver pieces on the bar in front of the HALFLING. He then looks intently at the little Druid to see if she drinks it.
Meanwhile, TAZZAVUR quietly gets up and leaves the Tavern. Zodge's badge is on the table. No one notices that he leaves as ELIAS,KHESSA, and ATLAS are upstairs, and RAYNOIRwas occupied at the bar.
(Does Atlas join Rahima's table or the other one?)
You notice that she has a unique looking set of six-sided dice. They look like they are made of copper, but when they hit the table they sound like bones. The pips are a unique green in color, not unlike the patina you would find on old weathered copper.
As best as ATLAS can tell, the dice look different than typical animal bone dice, but nothing more. After looking at some of the rolls, they appear to be random enough to appear like they are not loaded in any way.

Atlas will join Rahima's table and give her a friendly nod. "Fancy seeing you here. What's the game?"
"Baldur's Bones," RAHIMA says.
You notice that she has a unique looking set of six-sided dice. They look like they are made of copper, but when they hit the table they sound like bones. The pips are a unique green in color, not unlike the patina you would find on old weathered copper.
(Taking this to the PM for any game play.)
Atlas smirks at her and responds, "Great! Nothing like a good game of bones. What's the buy in?"
Atlas would nonchalantly inspect the dice she is using for any tricks.
INVESTIGATION: 9
As best as ATLAS can tell, the dice look different than typical animal bone dice, but nothing more. After looking at some of the rolls, they appear to be random enough to appear like they are not loaded in any way.
"It's a Gold Piece to play," RAHIMA says.
"Count me in!" as Atlas places a gold on the table.
