The warlock pirate merely grunted.

"You call that pathetic hit a 'smite?'" said Finn, his voice dripping with disdain as he suppressed his reaction to the pain of the hit and tried to appear fearless. With a forced smile, he quipped, "Try it like this."

Raising his unnaturally-light oversized blade high above his head, he swiftly brought it down onto the dragonborn before quickly spinning into a horizontal slash.

Dain rushes in, but though his strikes are might the plate armor of the dragonborn stays his blows. Finn too is unable to get his sword through on the first strike but the second finds purchase.

Though heavily bloodied, the dragonborn finds resolve within himself to stay standing with hatred in his eyes.

He will then move back behind the pillar in the same spot he was before.

”Have to run…” he mumbles, turning away and running 35 feet to the east.

Then he blinks. “Why the hell did I do that?”

As Dain flees, the black dragonborn strikes out, his attack muddled by his shattered emotions from Zylborin's vicious mockery.
